What makes kenha consider doing a road in the forest instead of in the villages where it will achieve a greater impact. The road is for human use and not for wild animals.

They should consider an underground road if it is a must we have the road curting through the park! The construction of this road will impact accelerate fire occurrence in the park as well. A threat that we rarely talk about that will immensely destroy the forest

First great coverage of the story kudos. My thinking is Nema is compromised and thus the sudden change in its standing. All factors considered its just a bad idea to build this road through the aberdare forest. We have few water catchment areas in Kenya we can't just destroy even the little remaining. My two cents

hizi ni propaganda , there is already a marram road in the area, what is the big deal upgrading it to Bitumen standards? how much more space will it take?we need these roads to open up our country . my village home bouders the aberdare national park fence. SGR passes through tsavo east and west, and Nairobi national park. the issue about trees, we can multiply by 10 the trees destroyed, and re plant in other forests like Mt Elgon, Nairobi national park etc. even masai mara .this road will reduce travel time by over 1 hour. thats a huge economic gain as compared to trees destroyed. actually, we as a country need to emerge from stone age era and be modernised. Like Kitengela and nairobi, there is a road inside nairobi national park that would reduce travel time from 1;30 min to just 30 min, problem is the conservationists.
