Eternal memory to the Cossack martyrs of Lienz

Lienz, Austria: the scene of one part of Operation Keelhaul - the forced repatriation by the Allies of Cossacks to Soviet Russia, where they were shot or sent to the Gulag. Many Cossack families died here while being forced by British troops into trains for the USSR. Many women jumped with their children into the river running through this beautiful town instead of facing torture at the hands of the Reds. This was our memorial service for them at the few graves of some of the victims, June 1, 2018.

My parents and grandparents were there and victims of the British and Soviet Armies my maternal grandfather was put on a train and returned to the Soviets and never heard from again..

Англичане дали слово, так называемого, «английского джентльмена», что казаки, а так же их жены и дети, останутся в живых . И абсолютно вероломно и подло, однако, сотворили цену гроша своему обещанию, отправив героев войны и войн на мучения.
