If we lose G7 it is all on Jamal and Porter! Not because they were abysmal shooting the ball, although Murray had an airball layup!? It's because they are a defensive liability! And we keep hearing the stories from the coach and the media over and over again how Jamal is the toughest cat out there? I really can't see it! Not just this series but overall! I see AG, KCP, Jokic, Braun leaving it all on the floor every night in the regular season and playoffs but I just can't see it in Jamal and Porter.

What a terrible take, so Jamal had a good game in game 5?!?!?!? So that's what we consider good game by Jamal now 4-11 for 10pts (I'm sorry but I'm not counting the stat padding with 2minuts to go, when MIN no longer played defense being down 15) Good to know. I mean he had good game compared to his standard, he got out of the way, but as a no2 on a championship team, he had a terrible game. So I guess it depends on how you look at it.

Every game we lost Jamal Murray was the worst player on the court on both sides. His "good" game 5 was 4-11 with few minutes to go. Imagine saying that for any other second best player. If you are not THE WORST player on the court we win the game. He opened this game 0-5 on wide open shots and then classic Murray, kept shooting until he gets hot(he never does or we are down 30 by that point) Outplayed by 37 years old Conley with bad achilles. 1) Jamal Murray sucks. You don't have it today - why forcing hard contested shots?? Give ball to Jokic and take 14 shots (or better less) as in previous game
    2) How can Jokic be such a great player and so stupid at the same time?? He was passive from the start, that was the main reason of the loss. Go to the f*ing paint, you will either score or they will foul you or you will make a great pass
When Denver was stuck at 9:2 what they did on offense:
    1. missed contested shot from Joker (ok)
    2. turnover Murray to Jokic (stupid)
    3. Jokic missed 3 pt at 13 sec (ok)
    4. Missed 3pt from Murray at 13 sec (ok)
    5. Travel from Jokic in the paint vs Gobert (not good)
    6. Turnover from MPJ to Jokic in the paint (not good)
    7. missed contested long 2pt from Murray (stupid)
    8. missed 3 pt from Jokic (stupid IMO)
    9. missed 3pt from AG at 17 sec (stupid)
    10. missed hard 3pt from MPJ (stupid)
    11. MADE mid 2pt from Jokic (SOMETHING FINALLY!!)
    12. turnover from AG early in transition (stupid)
    13. turnover BS by Murray (stupid)
    14. KCP MADE 3pt
    15. missed layup from Reggie (stupid in this situation)
    16. missed contested 3pt from KCP (ABSOLUTELY STUPID!!)
    17. blockshot to Holiday on a layup (ok I guess..)
    18. missed hook from Jokic (GOOD decision, but missed)
So we had 20-0 run and 27-2 run. And during whole this period Jokic made ONE attempt to make it into the paint and score near the basket (there was travel #5 in the list, that was it). That's when the loss happened.
Jokic was absolutely passive during this run. He tried to make 3s and didn't make them.
What he should have done (in my opinion). After couple missed 3s (#3 and #4) he should go into the paint and try to score there or make passes for the easy dunks/layups/3pts.
Why doesn't he do this? I don't know. We see this from him time and time again in regular season.
When your team struggles to score - go into the paint and score there! In worst case you will be fouled and get FTs. Or you will miss and get rebound. Your team can't score - score easy points!
Jokic didn't even try to go into the paint.
Right before MPJ TO #6 Jokic had a ball vs Gobert by decided to pass it away and there were other chances to go vs defenders.
That was such a stupid game from Jokic... That was sooo disappointing
And what's the most disappointing - it repeats time and time and time again. I thought - ok, maybe it's regular season, he can have nights off. But It's freaking elimination game 6 in playoffs!!
The most valuable quality for a player - be able to score in such moments when your team collapses and everybody misses. It's FAR MORE VALUABLE then ability to score game-winning 2 pts.
Because 2pts in the end and in 1st quarter is still two points. In 1st quarter 2pts may be far more precious than in clutch, because they can stop the bleeding and give momentum. Otherwise we have 0:20 collapse and you are down 30 pts in the end and your "game-winning shots" have zero value.

How can one team be so smart and so god damn stupid at the same time?? How do you give up in the 1st quarter of a crucial playoff game? Is it players, is it effort...coaching? I cannot believe there are many secrets left between these two teams. So WHAT THE HECK??

    • @tonyh8371
      @tonyh8371 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

It's when things go bad, that worries me, and I'm not talking about scoreboards. Sometimes, Nuggets seem like there's nothing in their head when momentum shifts. Murray becomes selfish, Jokic with 5 straight possessions of one man team, MPJ being too cool to run to open spots, and our cavalry Reggie puts it into 6th gear with no steering wheel . 29 5 run and Jokic can't be bothered to try harder for the offensive rebound or close up driving lanes. It reflects in these games when they lose 24 point lead to worst team and blowout losses. The tiny detail of a great championship team is not there at critical times. When shots aren't going down, stupid basketball seems to be their natural default game.

Agree with the take on defense..I've been saying this before the series and whole series. As much as MIN defense is elite, MIN also can't score. If Nuggets give 100% effort for 48min on defense, the game is 80-80...and when nobody can score, you always trust Jokic to win in the margins. This could have been 4-1/4-2 series, if Nuggets played with the same effort, like last season. Remember the PHX games they lost?, they put it out there anyway, Jokic going for 50 etc...this season they deserve this series to be decided by shot variance. I must say that I won't be angry if MIN bangs in series of 3 pointers and wins. You get what you put in, Nuggets put in very little effort, they can't blame luck for loosing. (And not even talking preparation, Murray thinking he's the shit whole season, being arrogant, saying just wait for the PO, well guess what...league got better and you didn't)

Sure it's nice to have player who doesn't crumble under pressure (usually numbers go down in PO, he at least maintains), but he's the same inconsistent player he always is. When you actually look at him game by game, sure he had 50, but next game he had 10, I mean he had 2x50 piece still didn't average 30...that's hard, last season the same thing, until the Lakers series, that was legendary shooting performance, and finals where he actually played great

He’s a luxury, not a necessity. It’s a shame he hasn’t done one damn thing well this series. Taking whole series off is inexcusable; he did this last year too in the playoffs. When they are playing at the top of their game as a team, these are far and away the 2 best teams in the league, Denver 1 and the Wolves 2. Denver is 1 because of Jokic. The Wolves podcast Flagrant Howls was talking about how Micheal Jordan is number 2 all time in most of the advanced stats because Jokic is number 1. If Jokic takes over like he did in games 3-5 and brings the rest of the team with him, there is not a lot any team can do to stop them. Other than Jokic, the coaching adjustments and motivation are a key. These are 2 of the best head coaches in not only the NBA, but also in all of professional sports.

The story of tonight was KAT did a tremendous job on Joker 1v1 without fouling, which allowed Rudy to do what he does best -- roam and protect the paint.
Jamal Murray will never outshine MN defenders. Hasn't all series. And Aaron Gordon as a jump shooter is not the answer 😅
Also, I've been preaching it all series -- Denver has 0 rim protection -- and FINALLY MN slowed down and PUNISHED them at the rim.
If MN didn't adjust and beat Denver tonight (and most likely game 7), I knew Dallas would beat them because Luka is A+++ at the lob threat. Denver has 0 rim protection. Let me shout it from the rooftops: DENVER HAS ZERO RIM PROTECTION. Get the ball inside, and they have no answer.
Joker top 10 all-time offense / HORRENDOUS ON DEFENSE PROTECTING THE RIM AS A 7FTER.
Denver fans still think this is about making shots 🙄 it's about DEFENSE. KAT scored 10pts.
