You know Vesa-Matti Loiri from his uuno turhapuro movies and scetches. But he was a beloved artist too. You should react to one of his christmas song called "Sydämeeni joulun teen"
Wow, I never thought you might already be able to understand spoken Finnish.. I'm proud of you too! You're speedrunning Finnish language :D Many youtubers say they're going to learn (at least some) Finnish but very few actually do.
Ciao Mauro. Thanks for these great reaction vlogs. This recording is from Kullervo Linna's 70th anniversary concert. Kaarlo Kullervo "Lutu" Linna (24 November 1911 Helsinki - 19 October 1987 Helsinki) was a Finnish musician, conductor and composer. The Satumaa tango has been called the national tango of Finland in many contexts. The lyrics begin: "There is land somewhere beyond the open sea.". Unto Mononen composed and wrote the lyrics for "Satumaan" probably in 1949, when he was 19 years old. The song was first recorded in 1955 by Henry Theel. The song became very popular when sung on a record by Reijo Taipale in 1962.
By the way, did you know that one of our most popular finnish Christmas song tells about the guy being in Sicily and missing home..? For example, he is seeing Etna far away etc..The song is called ”Sylvian joululaulu” if you want to check! I remember when I was in Sicily some years ago, standing some hill above Taormina and looking Etna..I was all the time hearing this Christmas song in my head! 😂
@@mauronicolo89 I’m not sure what would be the best version with lyrics but this could be quite good: th-cam.com/video/tnwxv88U-8w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6Zmctrw8OquuFtMT
..this would be better but without texts. By the finnish heavy metal singer Jarkko Ahola, he has great voice! th-cam.com/video/ECis41K5VOQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nNhywM3brQcfOzDM
3:04 You're doing great. We have people who have lived here since the early 90's who don't speak or even understand Finnish. You can guess which part of the world they appeared here... We know it's a hard thing to learn but it's not THAT f**king hard 😐
You should react to Hanoi Rocks back to mystery city or Motorvatin live at The Marquee 1983. They were the biggest finish band that had huge influence in bands like Guns N Roses and Poison.
2:48 Wow, really? Happy for you and proud of you as well! I don't know why this came to my mind now, but I would recommend you to watch a Finnish Christmas movie. I have seen that it's in Finnish in TH-cam, but I have also seen there's one with English dubbing as well in TH-cam. Maybe watch it by yourself or with your daughter. 😊 Movie: Joulupukki ja noitarumpu = Santa Claus and the Magic Drum
Sadly couldn't find the one spoken in English anymore, but found one in Finnish with English subtitles, By Tömmey: th-cam.com/video/T-4bXyzXQJc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YE824iFJF4WSGYuK
Has Kotkan Ruusu by Pauli Räsänen been on the channel yet? There's a wonderful TV performance of that from the show Nää niitä lauluja on. From 1969 I think.
Couple of tango documentary trailers: "TANGO SUOMI, de Gabriela Aparici [trailer]" and "English Trailer "Midsummer Night's Tango" (Documentary)". If you want to hear something sad, you need violins: "Konsta Jylhä - Vaiennut viulu".

Nocturne is also really beautiful (sung by Loiri). The Nocturne poem itself was written by one of the greats, Eino Leino.

I'm far from making it, but it's a great journey! I can't wait to become fluent in the language!!
@@mauronicolo89 You can do it, just keep pushing at it.
