Puerto Rican Coffee is the best. It’s strong but not sour. My favorite coffee form PR is Adjuntas, Lareño, Yaucono, Oro and lately Coqui. Before Hurricane Maria In my town we will host a Farmer’s market and my mom will buy coffee from a family that had a farm in Adjuntas.

Those brands you named are the worst. First of all all of them are blended with imported coffee and, in the case of Yaucono, is blended with robusta coffee. The best coffee brands from PR are from Jayuya, single origin all of them. Of course im talkin of Café Hacienda San Pedro, Café Idilio, Café Nativo and Café Don José. Those are real coffees; they are the best example of the cuality of our soil. Try one of the named coffee and tell me.

What coffee farm was this? Would love to visit next time we’re local. We order from a farm in Adjuntas directly and it truly is the best coffee. It takes a little longer to get here- costs a little more but worth every dime and second. The flavor brings you back immediately.

It’s a lovely concept to know that coffee is a drink , that helps many .. But we need to becarefull with our pride … The World we live in does have many countries that farms such a vast array of coffee , we can’t automatically stamp one coffee better than another … And to be truthful the best coffee is not produced in Puerto Rico , one of the best coffees are hard to export , South East Asia , places like Turkey , Muslim countries also produce quality coffee that work be available to other countries , and let’s not forget , Aswell as Colombia and the Ones who are experts into a the Coffee making and process are the Italians with the expresso coffee and their ways of purifying the shots … Puerto Rico did have only a moment in time when the pope made that comment , remember where the pope is in Rome ..? Puerto Rico does have coffee , but lack the training and even how to really push out that refine expresso shot … The coffee in the island is excellent , and it’s tasty in its simplicity ..

I agree totally with your thoughts. I’m a pride boricua who loves our archipelago, but the “best coffee” statement should be made in full context and based on that perspective, I couldn’t agree.
The BEST coffee can’t be determined only by origin. There is a whole coffee chain process that influences taste.
From coffee harvesting to the barista's personal way of brewing the drink will impact the flavor. And from that scenario, I think Puerto Rican coffee is very far away from the number one spot. 8 of 10 Puerto Rico coffee shops I visit only offer espresso brewing, and when they include pour over, they think I’m speaking japanese when I ask for a Kalita Wave filter method.
So, harvesting the BEST coffee isn’t enough, if you don’t know how to elaborate, roast and brew it in all the best possible ways.
      Cheers!

Why not take pride in our coffee?🏝🇵🇷☕️
      Other countries do the same...
I would have to taste them all 🌏and then determine which one is best.
And the end of the day...its basically the same coffee bean. Big difference is how it is brewed....☕️grandma's coffee was the best she grew her own in the mountains of Corozal.

Kona coffee is totally different. I live in Hawaii but I’m full Puerto Rican. Kona is darker and stronger in the sense of flavor it’s also more bitter from Puerto Rican coffee.
