You’re the Yoda of freshwater fishing, Matt... A Jedi Master! TacticalBassin is hands down the best fishing channel ever. No silly Walmart challenges, no silly thumbnails, no confrontation videos, no sales pitches... just consistent quality educational fishing content from the best fisheries in the world. Keep up the great work, brother!
I hope people respect this video for what it is. The true essence of fishing. Loading up the rig, hitting the open road with friends and family, and exploring the unknown. Any joker with a YT channel can fly somewhere for a day, hookup with a local, stick a few fish, grab a thumbnail, then bounce. Thumbnails and double taps don't enhance an experience, build upon a skillset, strengthen bonds, or form memories. Blazing your own trail with family and friends does, and they last a lifetime........Well done gentlemen.
Your little one is precious, Matt. God bless her. Thanks for teaching me something that I never would have guessed; that Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world.
Awesome video guys! I love fishing Superior however I haven't fished it for bass before. Lake trout and eelpout are an absolute blast out there! Especially ice fishing!
Superior is epically large. I live in MN and don't even go to superior for bass. It's too vast and there's not much fish able areas on this side of the pond. Give you guys props for coming all the way up nord here for smallies. I suggest you guys come down to Lake Mille Lacs for some epic smallies. Bass master AOY was held here in two yrs in a row in 2016/2017. Lots of good sized smallies and Muskies too.
Great video! Always enjoy y’alls stuff! Could you guys do a video breakdown on conditions/times of year/seasons that you choose to fish up river versus main lake stuff? And what makes you decide to focus on one more than the other? Thanks! 🎣
You need to go to Lake Erie, Detroit river, St. Claire river if you want awesome humongous smallies, also you will catch walleyes the way you were catching "Snot rockets".
Next time, head straight to Chequagon bay. That's where the fatties live in Lake Superior. I can tell you a few Northern Wisconsin lakes where 5 pound football's are so common you can literally catch 20 a day under the right conditions. Most of the locals are all about walleye and musky so the bass are very under fished. As always, great video, your channel is by far the best.
You need to come to Alpena. World class small mouth fishing, along with Pike, walleye, steelhead, King and Atlantic salmon, and lake trout. Great panfishing and some of the best trout streams int country
How are you pulling a boat and camper or is that a motorhome style rv pulling the boat? Just curious because we tent camp and pull a boat. We've been thinking about a camper but don't want to give up pulling the boat.
I've watched a ton of your videos, not every one of them, but definitely a ton. This might be the first time I've ever seen Matt fishing with another person, and HE has a spinning rod in his hand while the OTHER guy has a baitcaster.
Guys, Interesting visuals. I am in the Northeast. We have had a daily heat index of @ 100 degrees this month. You are in bibs, hoodies and puff jackets, it is the last day of July. Yes you are barefoot or in sandals. It is so surreal to me. Thanks for the breakdown of the big water.
Not too many smallies in Keweenaw bay where you guys were fish. The canal in Portage where you fished is stacked full good size but that comes with more pike
U guys kick bass I give my fishing career to y’all n life back cuz y’all I need to get shirts n hoodie n stickers n 1 day be able to fish with y’all safe travels n tight lines
Hey guys big fan been watching for a long time just wondering if u guys ever fished with the Dobyns Xtasy yet I know you guys probably won’t reply but worth a shot !!
You look so different with a beard Also I want to thank Cobi for using a 4000 reel , because I prefer 3000 and 4000 reels , and I got bashed all the time for it. My Shimano Nasci 4000 and Ultegra 4000 are my favorite reels I own. Spinning that is.
Yes! I used to have a 1000 size Stradic and sold it and bought a 3000 Excense instead and I will never look back. I can cast wayyy further and not nearly as many line problems as the smaller reels
So I have been using a 3 inch spark shad with a 1/0 owner under spin and it has been catching them good great video like always thank you for what you do
Matt, please consider mentioning the time of year you're on a given lake. I realize water temperature matters, and you do discuss that. Time of year is of interest for viewers who might be pondering a trip in a future fishing season.
This is a rare occurence where we traveled from lake to lake to lake and didnt realize until after the fact that the videos couldn't be editted in time. This is still our cross country road trip and was shot at the start of June.
Wish I was fishing there I have little ponds here but lots of them, hey can you guy's do a popping hollow body frog video top 10 how to fish them ect. Ect.
Looking forward to see the Video! But first i have to go to work. Tank you for your great Videos. Can you do a perch fishing Video? Greets from Germany
Bold statement...largest freshwater lake in the world. Well ya I had to look into it. By surface area, Lake Superior is the largest. I guess that relates more to the bass anglers. However, Lake Baikal is truly a monster. Contains 20% of all the worlds freshwater. Or, as much water as all 5 Great Lakes combined.
Hey the savage gear swimbait rod is nice but idk if the moderate action is a mod. I would say its probability more like a mod fast but I can still throw glides without fish pulling the hooks, the rating is on point and the handle isn't that long but its still longer than most other swimbait rods very similar length in handle to the diwa swimbait rod. Very nice rod if you can get it for 110 on a TW sale 😆
Lol mb I totally read it wrong but yes they are worth getting but again only get them if you can get them on a sale otherwise, their not really worth getting because you can just spend like 10-50 and get an amazing rod.
Dude you guys gotta hit me up and hit some inland Smallie lakes and rivers in Michigan, some of our inland lakes and rivers have world class Smallmouth!
Matt/Tim, why'd you shorten the outro music?. Cranking up the volume, annoying my girl, and waiting for that booming bass line to kick in was part of my watching tradition!!
Hey mat i know this is off topic from this video but your last video about jigs the rod selection i have my finesse jig rod and my flipping jig rod and currenlty have the 904c conquest as my pitching jig rod for those 3/8-1/2oz pitching jigs around cover i was wondering if that rod will do that technique or should i get the brailist as well

That's why we favour Deep Vs here up north! That or swimwear. lol A superb video Matt.
As someone who lives on the great lakes and cries over the abundant reservoirs and small lakes you guys have, thank you for this!
That last fish was a tank !!!!! Awesome video guys!!!!👍🏻💯👌🏻🐟🎣
California guys at the Great Lakes - 99% cold weather gear and bear feet! Love it!

This was spring recorded
This is what it feels like being a kayak fisherman on a normal lake
Viking metal Matt in the camper🤘

Welcome to my world Matt...Fishing for bass and catching pike 😂
I live on the shores of lake superior in the up of michigan !! were you in the up?
Sweet. I live in the UP and never fished Superior for Smallies. So many great inland lakes for them.
In the u.p. as well, awesome smallies
Heading north to the U.P. in September, I'm excited to scope it out.
@@teamflanneloutdoors5631 September is a great smallie month. When the water cools and the days get shorter, they school up and attack like crazy.
Keegan Rajala Thank You, That is my first stop👍🏻 Researching Waugoshance Point for my 2nd stop

The special guest was.. Yourself? Lolol your dang twin! Lolol
Lake Superior, where it can be 100 degrees outside and the water still feels near frozen
What causes a lake to remain so cold?
You got that right! Great place to fish though open water or ice fishing!
You should come over to the Thousand Islands, the fishing is better along with the scenery !
230am... finally stopped thinking about fishing, never mind... new TBin
Now that’s some big water!
Awesome video thanks for the tips

Matt have you ever tried the search bait 360? If so what’s your opinion?
Looks like you launched at the Silver River and went to Huron Bay for while? I've duck hunted that with my father for many years.
Michigan is full of amazing fisheries #puremichigan
Very nice guys, great work!🇺🇸👊👍💣🔥😎
Hell yeah! Earlier than normal, but better for me! Hahaha!
4:05 mark** "Fishing Jesus" sighting lol

30 to 50 foot waves out in Superior during storms....stay close to shore....remember the Big Fitz, The Edmumd Fitzgerald.....
Hey I thought you said you guys didn’t catch any life changing fish? That very last fish would have changed my life.
You got to fish the smaller lakes that are nearby the twin cities that are an hour out from the twin cities, got big bass.
LOL 8:21 thought you guys had a good one.
Will you fish around Drummond Island (Lake Huron), Lake of Woods (near Kalamazoo)?

What lake was this and where were y'all at? it's summer time and you have on sweatshirts.
Lake Superior 👍
Next time try a dropshot rig w a 3-4” brown or green rubber crawdad if you want some fish
Tim’s facial hair looks good!
Keep up the vids guys
Impressive 👍🏻
Matt come to the South End of Lake Michigan with me I’ll show you a great smallmouth time !!
With those water temps, where were your blade baits?
Can you guys review the Savage Gear Browser rods not the swim bait series just the regular

I love Michigan from ohio been going up there for 32 years. Have 60 acres of heaven up there.
I want to go fishing with you. I live near Lake Superior.
Anyone know any decent bass spots around wahkiakum county in Washington state?
You in northern Wisconsin to access Lake Superior?
Michigan 👍
TacticalBassin nice I’m in northern WI got big bass in the inland lakes up here should check it out 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🎣🎣🎣🎣
Dude you guys gotta hit me up and hit some inland Smallie lakes and rivers in Michigan, some of our inland lakes and rivers have world class Smallmouth!
Probably been asked this before, but if you had to put a ballpark number on the amount of fish you've caught what would it be ?
How do you break down a lake that doesn’t have many if any points or creeks/bays or even a lot of major depth contours?
Lookin like twin faces @ 0:50 lol!😅
Anyone else hit the line button before they watched this video cause they already know it’s good??
This guy! Love Lake Superior.
When are you getting your hands on the sukoshi bug
Matt/Tim, why'd you shorten the outro music?. Cranking up the volume, annoying my girl, and waiting for that booming bass line to kick in was part of my watching tradition!!
Daryl Hamilton right? that bass drop is the best part of all tactical vids haha
What state were fishing out of?
How is the temp that cold? It's almost August for crying out loud!
Over 1300 feet deep, most of the water stays relatively cold most of the summer. Welcome to the north. 🇨🇦
This was recorded in the spring.

Grew up on that body of water. Lake Superior is one body of water that you have to treat with ultimate respect or it will kill you.
Man thats awesome. I was born and raised on Superior. No place else like it
Wow....
This whole time, the jerkbaits were laughing at the swimbaits!!
I think I’d rather catch the pike to be honest but oh well. Nice fish all the same. Good luck guys.
Did you get a new boat? Haven't been watching for awhile.
Yeah, he almost died in an accident last year. He had a long recovery, but him and his dad are all better now.
@@DubH46 Sorry to hear that brother. Hope it's all good now. Keep fishing my brother's!!
@@saelee33 Yes sir. They both made a full recovery. When you get some time you should go watch the videos about it.
That's alot of water. I'm terrified.
god bless
When nothing eles will bite, pike will, they pull and they're fun. It fishing.
The first thing I would look for on that lake is where's the water that won't kill me. That lake can get rough quick.
Dan I hate it when i catch a bunch of pike😳
Im late!!
The struggle is real!
Welcome to the Fresh water ocean ,🤔🤔that first fish wasn't a Smallmouth, watch to see what it is ????
Northern pike
@@tylerhollo8080 great answer buddy 👍👍
Isn’t lake Baikal the largest?
Welcome to Michigan boys where your first cast for smallies ends up getting bit off by a pike😂
Been on that lake it's cold! Never rises above 45degrees I've been told.
Back in the shallow ends of the bays it can hit low 60's but you are correct about the main lake, 45 is about as warm as it gets
The big lake they call Gitchi-Gami
