Actually, Blind001 could happen to any pilot, in any plane. Keep your lasers pointed downward, and don't ever aim them towards the sky. Pilots have gotten blinded by lasers

This video is just amazing.
I've done this in VR once... It was like at a kinda spec summer camp where we got to fly a Gripen in a flightsim in VR... Sim was... Flight Sim X I think actually (lol). And the very professional "technicians" didn't plug the oculus thing right so at a point all I saw was a grey screen. First time screen came back after I already unrecoverably low even for this g'damn fighter. So since it was kinda messed up, I was given another chance, we reset it - specially since the sim dudes realised I'm something of an aviation nerd anyway and I was doing well the other parts of the flight.
Second time... just as I took off, grey screen again. Having the spectators instruct me as I flew blindly was literally the coolest parts of the flight. In a minute I "regained eyesight" and performed a butter on the runway after a touch-n-go, so much so was it soft that I had to ask if I'm already on the ground (forgot to check altimeter in the excitement since the joystick was hella sensitive so it was actually hard to fly gently). One bummer though was the fact that it took me too long to align with the runway (again, stick oversensitive), and as such I buttered it on the later half of the rw and overran. Finally stopped before hitting a house at the outskirts of the nearby town lmao
There was also another camp the next week where these same dudes visited us with the sim actually, that time I landed almost perfectly, again after a very dangerous emergency touch-n-go. Spectating other guys n gals "fly" was the funniest crap ever. I can tell that a complete layman shall not be ever given a stick irl, only instruct em to use the autopilot or chances are they're gonna stall n crash. Only a few dudes landed it like me. The rest? Stalled and died. Either in a turn or by using the plane as a goddamn rocket.
