Let me explain this "le"in this song means shelter not laughter "le" is a bending of the Norwegian word "ly" example "å søke ly" = "to seek shelter" and yes "le" means also laugh/laughter, but the word change meaning depending on the sentence example "Kan du le?" = Can you laugh?", "Jeg fant le mot vinden" = " I found shelter against the wind" Besides we almost do not use "le" in laugh situations (well I don´t use it that much, but other Norwegians may disagree with me), because it is infinity, we use for the most part present "ler" or simple past tense "lo". "han ler" - "He laugh". "Hun lo"- "she laughed". If we use "laughter" we use "latter" So this means the lyrics will be " and gives you shelter" and not "and makes you laugh" It got maybe a little complicated, but I think you'll understand what I mean xD.
