Thank you... thank you for including Challenger. It must never be forgotten, much like Colombia... because if we forget, we dishonor those who perished... and we risk repeating the mistakes that were made again...
I can only imagine how beautiful Enterprise would have looked like leaving the pad. The other 5 sisters were all so majestic in their own way. Thank you LM5 for putting this tribute to one of the best launch vehicles ever built.
Absolutely mesmerizing. It's the same sequence every time, but each launch was like a snowflake - you can notice different details and nuances in every one of them.
This is a wonderful compilation of videos from a great era in spaceflight! I was there for the launches of STS-81, STS-115, and STS-117 (all Atlantis, go figure).

Thanks for this video. The only thing I think I would criticize at all, and its only for memorial nostalgic reason, is that I would have given the Challenger disaster its own full screen to emphasis momentous significance of the tragedy in the history of our space program.
K.D. Kromminga Hi KD - I certainly did contemplate putting both 51L and 107 as separate full screen segments. But, the thought occurred to me that, if I did, then the flight sequence would be slightly out and also I wanted to show Challenger and Columbia in the context that the next flight flew after the accidents etc. For Challenger I let the audio play through the 26 launch and for 107 I added in the debris strike. In hindsight perhaps I could have done it differently, but am not really sure I would have done, Hope that helps and thanks for the comment - appreciated - LM5
Very beautiful. I'm sorry, I just couldn't watch the entire video after STS-51L, that 25th launch brought back a lot memories. My heart goes out to the families of those lost.
Makes me so proud....I dunno what it is exactly about the space program...but it's awe inspiring....if you have any idea how utterly vast interstellar space is...not that we have ever been...but one day...we will go there.
nirvanicstudios Thanks for the comment - I already did all the Saturn Vs but as a multiscreen all at once video. Hope that's what you were looking for!
16:50 For the people who want to see STS-51-L, the 1986 Challenger disaster. Also ***** I'm curious as to why you didn't maintain the audio from STS-51L?
Hi - If you watched the whole of the 51L sequence you will find I mixed it in with the audio of STS-26 and 27 - I thought it was more appropriate to do it this way
I did notice :) I watched the whole thing... But yeah that was kind of my point, you blended the audio from the next launches as you did with all the other clips. That's why I was asking, as this wasn't a standard clip. I've been showing my friends, all they were interested in was Challenger and they were kind of disappointed there was no audio from mission control.
Kirky apologies to you and your freinds - just goes to show that you cant please everyone all the time! I have posted the entire 51L coverage elsewhere on my channel if that helps?
No apologies necessary! Many thanks for uploading this! And yes indeed, can never please everyone! I however was very happy pleased with this upload! And awesome thanks, I'll be sure to check it out!
They take off almost in the same tight schedule as the shuttles did in "Moonraker". But for that it would've required 135 different orbiters. AND 135 different launch pads, for that matter. XD
We were down at KSC last week on vacation. They're really pushing SLS. I didn't realize they'd stripped 39B down to get it ready and had also built the tower for SLS. The tour currently goes all the way out to and around both 39A and B. So, I'm optimistic that it makes it off the ground.

A great piece of work, Lunar ....but you seem to have 2 x 106s ..... the 2nd one should be 102 (sorry to tell you !). The mission numbers 'jumped about a bit', which didn't help matters.

I was wondering what you were up to. Damn, your good! Would you consider doing one on Hubble? I remember watching the servicing missions at thinking there wasn't anything we couldn't do up there.
the launch and deploy, first servicing mission, highlights from the others, the final good bye with Hubble's fantastic imagery mixed in between flight videos. just a thought.
mikemusikable - it is banned in Germany - the reason is a copyright claim by SME music that I have contested, but lost. The audio they claim is theirs is audio from the Challenger disaster - There were another 2 claims against the video but both those were released. Despite pointing out to TH-cam that the audio in question actually belongs to NASA (which it does!) I still cant get the video released as SME wont release the claime. Ridiculous! So apologies that you cant watch it - but there seems little I can do about it. Regards LM5
