We surely hope so, got to build a roster around him and this offense could be very solid. Defense is still the priority though, but the cap space is there to make it work
I think so but can't or anything past this front office. They're hungry so Lamar is interesting. But I did want them to stay him in the second round so I'm fine with giving him a year to earn the franchise QB label
This guy is y’all future. I’m an Eagles fan and he’s going thru the same shit Jalen did his rookie szn, he seems like he got a good head on his shoulders and def got the abilities
Geez the release time is insane!! He takes like a third of a second to get the ball off.. dude is a great athlete and with a bit of accuracy and footwork he can become an amazing qb. I’m happy to have him
Frrrr especially at 2:40 he spins back and goes back up the middle and makes the through, the entire time he looks so calm and makes the completion, ik he has some work to do but i have faith in ridder and based off of what I've seen of him and heard from him his committed to getting better for the team
He just stands in there. He keeps his eyes down field. Not looking to escape, but find a a better throwing position. The arm strength is good. Idk much else of him. If he is the starter coming out of camp we will know all we need to. Looks like he is being slept on. I think most people r fading all non bijan falcons this year. It’s a mistake. If pitts is healthy, smash. Drake London, draft with confidence. Arrows up for the dirty birds if rider is the starter and looks decent in camp.
Ok so my biggest take is his POISE. The man already started playing to the speed of the game and I love it. He looked more like the vet than Mariota, Marcus just runs better. It did make me feel good to see them block well for both QBs so I'm optimistic and super excited about this off-season
nah id take mariota over this kid anyday and im a bills fan, i came here to see what the hype was about. not impressed at all lol dude had a whole season to prepare and never scored a TD in 4 games against 4th strings. idk i guess yall falcon fans used to mid
@Heaven11 Dude stop, you can't gauge how a rookie is going to pan out after 4 games, stick to josn allen turning the ball over so much to make plays 🙄
@@heaven1189 mind ya business stick to josh the choke Allen he can’t win the big games to get the bills over the hump and after that lost to the bengals in the playoffs they third best in AFC behind bengals and chiefs 🤡
small sample size but he has better stats thru his first 4 games than matt ryan. Ridder #’s 708 yards, 64% completions, 2td/0int. Ryan #’s 669 yards, 53% completion, 2td/2int. that’s with a 4th string guard and no kyle pitts
and incase you people forgot matt ryan won offensive rookie of the year that year as well. imagine if arthur smith started Ridder sooner while they still had pitts
He is more accurate than Mariota was and his chemistry with Drake London is way better. Mariota always got the ball to London late or behind him, the difference between the 2 was chalk and cheese. Yes his accuracy is off but I'd take high football IQ and good decision making first as accuracy can be improved more easily. He's a winner and proved it by not tanking the end of the season. Like the choice by Smith.
These clips go on to show what a weapon we have with Ridder. All he had to throw to was London and all he did was get better. The poise in the pocket and his the lack of fear he has with putting the ball down field was outstanding.
Shot good pocket awareness looks good and the man was throwing lasers to his receivers let’s go! already a much better upgrade then the two QB’s we got in stoked hope puke getsy can dial up some good plays for this dude
Crazy potential with a lot of upside. 4 games was a small sample size but give Arthur some time with him up at The Branch. Our whole town is pulling for him.
Ridder seems to have great pocket poise and displays good allusiveness and accuracy. Let him continue to develop and I think he’s going to be a good fit in ATL!!! Let’s go!! #RiseUp, #BirdGang, #Falcons 🏈🔥🏈🔥
The dudes going to have more weapons to utilize than the single wr the falcons had. However let's see if its just for depth or if he gets actual playing time
I liked what we saw of him last season and I am comfortable giving him the starting position this year. We picked up a good back up, just in case and then we can look at were we stand. Now he isn't a Lamar but the Falcons were not just a QB away either.
I really think we got the steal of the draft if he develops the way I believe he will. He's similar to Geno Smith to me , except he seems calmer ... He has to get better with his deep balls tho... Glad we're building around him
Small sample size but Ridder seems legit. Smart, pass first and mobile player. Pretty high completion percentage at 63.5%, looks to have a rounded skillset plus throw calmly in the pocket. Think he can power the offense and lead the team to the playoffs next season.
Idk if he would've been just as good the first 6-7 games. Everyone would've been mad and calling him trash. It usually takes at least a season for a rookie qb to get caught up with nfl speed, rules, and trading nfl defense. I think it's good we sat him most of the season and I think that's why he played better than Marcus when he did enter.
@@dznArroI definitely agree I was so pissed they kept running it with Mariota after that game because he made us look so bad. I felt that was the Best time to let Ridder takeover because we could've had a better chance at making the playoffs with him at that point.
Patriots fan here, and I think Desmond Ridder has potential. He’s going to be above average at least. Also, Atlanta has done well with picking their franchise QB’s starting with Michael Vick (minus the dogfighting scandal although at least he was okay with the Eagles) and Matt Ryan. I feel that a new era is beginning in Atlanta with this guy, and I thought he was pretty good in college at Cincinnati.

@Nocturnal Entity Idk what you’re watching, London led the league in receptions & yards while playing with Ridder. Pruitt caught a couple passes.
This is a fucking highlight reel the actual tape tells a much different story

Desmond Ridder: and I took that personally
The way he moves in and out of pressure is awesome. I think we may have found a hidden gem
If i was WR this is exactly the way i would want the ball thrown to me fast as im running. I like what i see in this guy.

Say what you will, Ridder has above average pocket awareness, mobility and a very quick release. Also has good accuracy and pace on his throws.
He’s gonna be nice, true passer more athleticism than our last qbs also.
I'm big on Ridder this year. He has good pass catchers, they run the ball well and that division isn't the strongest
