We Saved A Woman’s Life On The Road To Hana

While Amanda and I were at Hawaii for business we took a day to do the road to Hana. We did the reverse way to Hana. We were filming secluded non tourist spots for fun. We were trying to find this place called "The Venus Pools" We had to walk through a jungle path then through a field to get there. As we were approaching the pools. We noticed this lady she was staggering an slurring her speech. At first I just thought she was drunk. She then passed out and was unresponsive. I stayed with her while Amanda ran for help. We had no cell reception. The paramedic who came told us if we had not found her she probably would not have survived.
I am so grateful we were at the right spot at the right time.

I know there were a lot of negative comments on your Instagram about you traveling during Covid, but this is PROOF that had you not been there, this lady very likely would’ve lost her life. God needed you there in that place at that time. It wasn’t a coincidence! You two are heroes to that lady and her family!! You are Good Samaritans!! Thank you!! (Also this trip footage was so beautiful!! Thanks for taking us on this journey with you both) ❤️
this. they were meant to be there. I understand how it looks to some that people are home and others are traveling but ... everyone has a different situation and everyone has a different comfort level.
She may have been in the process of having a stroke. If so, “time is of the essence” in treatment. Glad you were there to help.

Oh my goodness, I just finished the rescue part of the video. We’re a Christian family, and it just seems like the Lord put you both exactly where & when you needed to be to help that poor woman. That sounds terrifying!!! So glad you were able to help.

I joke with my sister who is a newly retired AMR paramedic that the only reason she goes on vacations is to rescue people in other places. Always be prepared as you never know when you’ll be the one to help someone in their time of need.
(Do we need to form a fund raising for serious real wet hiking/beach shoes?)
My wife and did the road to Hana 50 years ago. We had to rent a jeep to navigate the route. There was no guides to use so we missed a lot. But it was still an unforgettable experience. Hana was really rural back then and not a lot to it.
Been to Maui many times. Done that drive only once. Absolutely the worst drive I’ve ever done in my entire life. The sites are absolutely amazing and the black and red sand beaches toward the end are breathtaking, but that 3 hour (one way) drive is terrible.

Amazing rescue! God sent that lady two angels to help her. Although you said she was okay, I hope EMS sent her for a CT as a precaution. I work in Neurology and we see a lot of people who are “found down” and it turns out that they had stroke, then fell. Chris mentioned that her speech was slurred-which is a sign of a stroke. I pray she is doing well. 🙏

Probably because they drove the back way to Hana and went the route that rental car companies do not permit you to drive on without violating the car rental agreement. They're pretty lucky that everything worked out.

I am living vicariously thru you guys since i will never be able to physically do the hikes (but i do have a cool rollater that lights up named SKY ..skywalker. ha! ) and am enjoying watching you all have so much enjoyment on your adventures. ...even with the lack of lost idols and masses of snakes . LOL Gotta watch out for those coconuts...>>LOL When all the craziness is over , you all need to do a series of videos from different states and what they feature. My uncle was on a ship that was in Hawaii during WW2 and he talkies about the black sand beach but years later I heard it was gone. That must be another one. Love this vlog, I may never get to go.

I loved this! I spent my last pre-covid birthday in Maui and ended up doing a self driven Road to Hana in a mustang convertible (thanks to a very nice rental agent). It was the best part of the trip! Went on amazing hikes and had the best banana bread ever at one of the stops.

We have driven the road to Hana several times and have NEVER started on the other side and drove around the way you did. Very interesting to see it done in the opposite direction... You guys are adventurous!! Most of the places you went to would have been off My list because of fear LOL. The Lava Tube was way to dark and scary, but amazing to see it thru the eyes of your camera... flip flops !!! You guys needed some hiking shoes!! Thanks for the adventure and amazing you were at the right place at the right time and helped that lady.. definately something to remember always, your being there literally changed what could have been for this lady.

My family drove on most of the Road to Hana in 2005 when i went to Hawaii as my make a wish , wish however it was very rainy all day but it was still beautiful
