For your pulling to one side braking issue check that all your rear arm bolts are done up tight. I had a similar issue a while ago and it drove me insane checking brakes and replacing bushings trying to find the source of the problem, turned out to be a loose toe arm bolt at the rear subframe
On VAGs theres also a turn/position sensor on the steering column that tells it when to start the pump motor, these often go bad so you get random heavy steering and eventually will give the warning light. Worth checking if the MR2 has similar.
I changed the fluid on mine as it was intermittent, it helped alot, but i later found my UJ was also at fault and adding to the issue. Felt so dodgey on the road, the steering wheel would not self centre and felt like it would get stuck.
if it pulls a bit check the inner track rods. spent ages messing with my AE86 brakes just to find the inner track rod was the culprit. could be a toyota thing 🤷♂️
The electric motors in the pumps are known to fail, so it could be that. You can get fully refurbished ones from MR2 specialists for a few hundred pounds. Or a new one from Toyota for about £1,300!!
Fun fact I took my ecu off to reset my immobilizer, and turn the car in on position, the power steering turns on and I was surprised it turns so easily while the engine is off
Thanks for the video. I did the same change with the ravenol fluid but now I am hearing the high pitch whizzing of the electrical pump when turning. Did you have the same issue? I did not have the whizzing before the change.
Danny before you race put zip ties over you brake fluid and clutch reservoir so the caps can't come off if you roll. The scrutineers look for that one and earth strap from the battery has to be yellow. I know what the scrutineers are like as was involved with a few cars in the mr2 championship. Also make sure that the rear spoiler is the same as a Toyota supplied option they are strict on them.
So, i just got a e36 to drift. And just wanted to check out some of the old e36 video's because i remember you had some videos of it with what you had done. but i can't seem to find them mate. any reason why?
I almost crashed my car twice trying to Tokyo drift my way out of underground car parking :) it seems that whenever there is difference in wheel speeds abs kicks in and stopping the car even from ridiculously low speeds is a real problem if brakes are applied right after rears where spinning... Would love to put abs switch on my car.
why do you care if the fluid is clear? most automotive fluids are artificially colored for easier identification, almost none are just the color they end up because of the required ingredients

Honda power steering fluid is pretty much clear too and gets dark quite quickly when used, done it a few times on various Hondas

when are you going to color match the top? maybe vinyl wrap it? Just noticed the side mirrors need it done as well
I had this issue on mine, turned out to be a sticky caliper.
