The Lab SYD is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly live stream powered by Void acoustics, where we showcase both the finest Australian talent and quality international stars passing through the city.
Getting behind the driver's seat in The Lab SYD this week is Sydney’s very own Jensen Interceptor. Signed to Boys Noize Records and controller of his own INTL.C imprint, Jensen’s dark, driven and menacing brand of techno has been heard in clubs and warehouse parties around the world. His unique groove has also been repped by the likes of Brodinski, The Hacker, Green Velvet and he'll be supporting Gesaffelstein on his upcoming Australian tour in May.
Next month he follows up his first release of the year ‘The Fontainbleau’, out on Bromance Records, with his next EP 'M' for cult UK label Central Processing Unit. Pre-order one of 300 limited edition 12"s and check out our worldwide premiere of ‘mActavis’ right here.
This week's Lab SYD kicks off at the usual time of 6pm AEDT and you can tune in either below or on MixmagTV.
The Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about bringing fans closer to the DJs. Giving up and coming talent a platform and throwing unique events where fans and artists can party together.
One of my favorite sets, especially the third track (on constant rotation thanks to Jensen)

"Beat That Kitchen With a Bat"... ok haha either you stand behind the artists you hire to play a show and the choices they make and the records they pull, or you don't. But changing the name of a track in the tracklist to something more PC than what it really is so you don't upset anyone is really weak sauce. If you feel like a track called "Beat That Bitch With a Bat" runs afoul of the political principles of your organization, put your money where your mouth is and pull the fucking mix. If you think it's just a song with some questionable lyrics but is ultimately harmless, then post the track title correctly. But you don't get to do both. Nobody gets to sit on the fence. www.discogs.com/Blackman-Beat-That-Bitch-With-A-Bat/release/195368
sick mix btw lol
@@timnordberg7204 Damn Right, well said! - wonder what they'd call The Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" nowadays? :)

That mix of Never Stop is fucking brilliant. Would love to drop that in the middle of a break-heavy set
