How to measure UNIQUE Event Instances in Google Analytics 4 (GA4):
➡️ Event Count: Measures EVERY instance of the event.
➡️ Total Users with an Event filter: Measures UNIQUE instances of events based on users
For example, if a user clicks on a button 3 times, the Event count will report "3" while Total Users will report "1"
Shouldn't you use Sessions instead of Total Users to get the number of Unique Events similar to UA?
Exactly
It depends on your definition of “unique”
If you want to measure events for unique users then use total users
If you want to measure unique instances of events per session, then you can use sessions
Thanks a lot!
