    So i did almost include Shiera Seastar in this video, but if i included her by that logic i would have to include all of Aegon iv bastards, and sooooo little is known about most of them it would have been very tricky. But, i am working on a Blackfyre video where i go into depth about Bloodraven, Shiera and Aegor and the impact they had. So i will likely devle into that aspect of her then.

    King Jaehaerys confusing Alicent Hightower for Saera has lead to some people believing Alicent must have white hair as well.
    I counter this with Jaehaerys simply being sick and confused; my grandfather has dementia and frequently confuses me for my cousins despite our differences in hair color

    • @mermaidnurse17
      @mermaidnurse17 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +20

      The Hightowers have a lot of blonds in their family including multiple members being described with very Targaryan features despite not having Valyrian blood. I think it is likely she had light blond hair given how many Hightowers have Targaryan features.

      @@mermaidnurse17 the Hightowers having blond individuals also makes sense, since some Targs ended up more blond than silver, such as Alysanne and Alyssa, so I can see a confused old man seeing a blond girland thinking "my long lost daughter has returned to me!"

      @mermaidnurse17 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @@RapaxGuardian I can too. I also see where this original commentator is coming from because the demented confuse people with no real logic sometimes. However I always imagine Alicent as being more blond and fair than having dark hair and eyes. Especially because we do see that Targaryan features are just as likely to be recessive when they have children with darker haired families. GRRM makes a point of showing that not all Targaryans are fair haired and that not all people with Targaryan coloring are of Valerian decent. It seems to me if she had dark hair at least one of her children would have had dark hair. That is just my opinion though.

    • @morganferguson6378

      @@mermaidnurse17 in my opinion, the tv show only uses hair color for storyline purposes. supposedly in the books, rhaenyra’s bastards DID have white hair, but in the show they have dark hair to OBVIOUSLY show they are bastards. but all of alicent’s kids had white hair despite her genes supposedly being more dominant than targ? rhaenys had black hair in the books and was still a dragon rider, but they changed that for some particular reason. it actually doesn’t even make sense for jon snow to have dark hair either imo other than plot armor to hide his identity. most of the time in the books tho, there is an actual science behind the genes and valerian genes are weaker compared to the genes of first men, rhoynar, and the andals. it’s one of the main reasons why targs interbreed: to keep their genes alive and to keep dragon riders alive and in power (but it is a theory this is propaganda from targs to keep only their family in power) GRRM has stated that incest has no affect on genes in the GOT universe despite it being the opposite irl.

    You forgot Rhaella, daughter of Rhaena and Aegon the uncrowned. She disappears from record after her mother's death 73 AC, when Rhaella is only 31. It's assumed she spent the rest of her life in the Citadel as she was a septa, but we have no mention of her after that and no confirmed death date. She was probably still there when her cousin, Princess/Septa Maegelle, died of greyscale in 96 AC and when Princess Saera was an apprentice silent sister almost a decade earlier (84-85 AC). Once Jaehaerys has heir of his own, no one cares about Rhaella.
    It's my theory that Maegor & Vaella were married to each other & if they had any children, they were all at Summerhall when it burned. Maybe on purpose, like as a sacrifice, to hatch the seven eggs Aegon V is said to have collected there. IDK if he was desperate enough, if he believed prophecy that much in his age, if dragon dreams had sent him around the bend enough?

In the first case there is always the fear and paranoia of the line going extinct, and in the last case, the king having too many kids also means that some children would ended up being neglected thus causing troubles ( in Jaehearys and later King Daeron II rule)

      @adaroez 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Robert never really sought out to kill all Targaryens, he was never that cruel. The only Targaryen he ever killed was Rhaegar and after the fall of House Targaryen he even spared the lives of Daenerys and Viserys. He may have ordered the death of Targaryen near the end of his life, but even close to his death he took it back and wished her not to be harmed. Robert himself is basically the next close kin to Daenerys and it's publicly well known that House Baratheon is blood related to the Targaryens. Not only them, but also House Hightower, House Longwaters, House Martell, House Plumm, House Velaryon, etc. The Targaryens were in fact very fertile and there are probably thousands of descendants by Aegon the Conqueror, whether they be noble or common, poor or rich, Westerosi or from some other culture (like Ben Plumm from Essos).

  • @LusiaEyre

    People do fall in and out the pages of history. Like Bessie Blount, she was important enough while Henry Fitzroy was alive, but once he died, her significance fizzled out, and we don't know when she died or where she was buried. So I can see some of them just dying, and without connection to the current politics or troublesome descendants, the record would've been a long-lost footnote. Although, I am inclined to believe that baby Maegor and his Brightflame line was an idea before Blackfyres were invented. Varys is plotting long before the Blackfyres are namedropped or Young Griff introduced. But I am surprised that Aegon V's sisters are not accounted for. Considering how his elder siblings fared. Daeron married a Tyroshi, and Aemon became a Maester. Aegon married Betha Blackwood. I am surprised none of them made a major family marriage or that the princesses seem lost to time and their descendants not mentioned at all. And a great grandmother does not a Targaryen make, but they could be close enough to potentially ride a dragon? It would be quite interesting for one of them to marry in Tarth, then she would be having a baby with Duncan the Tall (talk about messy) and would make Brienne distantly related (ah Jaime and his Targaryen connections never end). It is also possible that the other married a Velaryon. This would be the kind of match that wouldn't seem groundbreaking enough to extensively report on. Would make Lucerys Velaryon's support of Aerys have another layer too through very recent familial ties. Wouldn't it be funny if Young Griff is trying to clsim one of Dany's dragons only for Aurane Waters to swoop in and take it instead?

      @sophiawilson8696 True, it is never specified that they had any children, and I don't think Jenny is even named as having died with Duncan. Her Woods Witch lived, though. And if the theory that Rhaegar wrote Jenny's song after talking with the Ghost of High Heart in the ruins of Harrenhall, then we can deduce that she was not a happy girl. But there is no mention of her husband's family taking care of her. Personally, I think she survived for a bit after Duncan died. Went home to the ruins of Oldstones and dances with her ghost until dying of grief and broken heart. Nothing suggests she had children, BUT wouldn't it be a twist if she gave birth after Summerhall and her little prince or princess was lost there somewhere?

    The plot hole of the world building of Ice and Fire is this, due to shear number of marriages and Targaryen children, by the time of the main series there would be more Targaryens than Daenerys. There are a lot of loose ends for there to be just one left.

    As much as I'd like to think Daemon survived even if Aemond didn't kill him, if you fall out of an airplane with no parachute into water you're basically hitting concrete. We can only survive up to 100 ft/s impact velocity on water, that's not very high to be honest. On top of that assuming you don't splatter on the surface like an egg on concrete, you have the wreckage of the plane to deal with. In this case, both riders were on the dragons so even if he jumped off he had to dodge two Dragon corpses from knocking him out and pinning him under water. As if that's not reason enough to believe he died, I believe the books say the water boiled from the heat of the dragons blood mixing in and so far we only see Daenarys is immune to fire damage.

      @@WorldOfWesteros I'm currently of the opinion that balerion must have been a young dragon when they came over and the other 4 where elders, the 4 made 2 Breading pairs that made vhagar and meraxes and then balerion mated with both of them to produce all the dragons that are nealry 100 years old and quick silver

    I should also mention that we have no idea as to the fates of any of Aegon the Conqueror's ancestors, and there is least one Targaryen female who married out of House Targaryen (Gaemon and Daenys's second daughter, who married a petty lord whose descendant was a claimant at the Council of 101 AC). But agreed, a separate series of videos is needed for all of the dragonseeds as well as the descendants of female Targaryens who married out of the family.

    • @thomasleonardis711
      @thomasleonardis711 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jeambeam3173 We don’t know how old he was when she left Hugh. Hell, we don’t even know Hugh’s age. But she left the 7 kingdoms in 85-86ac for Lys and then in 99 she moved to Volantis. So she speaks pf her brothers SONS meaning it was after 81ac when Daemon was born that she left. So between 81 and 84 when her antics were discovered and she was sent to be a Septa in Old town seems reasonable. It makes Hugh around 50 which seems reasonable (it makes him around the age of Daemon & Cole who don’t look 50 either).
      Also of note is that Saera was a large point of contention between Jaehaerys and Alysane with Alysane begging him to forgive her. Alysane was also a very active and involved Queen with her own power and authority. It isn’t unreasonable (although unsupported in the books) to think she lied to King Jae and created the cover of Saera in Lys while protecting her at Dragonstone. That lines up her departure to Volantis with Alysanne becoming sick and dying as the events are within a year of one another.
      So since we know so little actual fact and the facts we do have are self admittedly to be of questionable reliability we can’t disprove anything.

    @WorldofWesteros I have a belief that Prince 🤴 Maegor Brightflame Targaryen might be the biological father of Ser Gerold Dayne. If it is true that 👑 Aegon V placed his infant nephew with his noble kin of House Dayne at Castle Starfall 🏯 in Dorne to preserve & protect him from the vipers and rats of the Royal Court and the capitol at large which so corrupted Daemon Blackfyre in his impressionable youth.
    The theory is that Prince Maegor would be adopted into House Dayne entirely and never know his true identity or birth name and his upbringing would be no worse for it as he would have every comfort and confidence provide by his blood relations with his grandmother's House ~ The Lady Dyanna Dayne. If he had fathered the newborn Gerold Dayne in 270 - 274 AC the fully grown Maegor Brightflame Targaryen would only be on his late 30's or early 40's at the time of conception and of unquestioned vigor and vitality. What say you?!?
    That streak of midnight black streak on the Silvery-White head of the Darkstar of hair could be a progressive trait he directly inherited from Maegor Brightflame Targaryen as per the illustration of Elio and Linda's official website ASOIAF Wikia.
