I don't think it's a continuity error for Toothless to not immediately know who Hiccup is when being on defensive to possible offensive guard duty nor for the kids to be so worried about their dad that they become hesitant after seeing Toothless and learning what they did in _Homecoming._

And even though they kiss twice in the first movie and multiple times in riders and defenders of berk they weren't a cupple proving the chemistry between them and how it takes Time for them to grow and develop strong feelings for each other and they officially become a cupple in season 4 of race to the edge which is 3 and a half years after the first movie which proves that there relationship is healthy because they took time to see if it would work out and it did

actually, in riders/defenders of berk, they were at more of an awkward stage where they were friends that had crushes on each other, so they never officially dated until s4 of race to the edge. at one point in the beginning of riders of berk they both even denied the fact that they had feelings for each other

About the part where some people disagree about them marrying at the end, they do realize it had a smal time skip between the wedding and when the dragons left as they had already set up a village by the wedding's time

Wait, there were criticisms about Astrid marrying Hiccup later after she said they weren't ready?? That criticism really doesn't hold water. The film literally explains why she didn't feel they were ready yet. Even Tuffnut, as a side comedy, was trying to get Hiccup to be a proper 'marriage material'. That part was explained thoroughly in the third film. Hiccup was too dependent on Toothless. He didn't believe he was capable without his dragon. That's why Astrid felt he wasn't ready. And when he got over those insecurities, she knew it was time. Besides they didn't get married immediately.
early on when the film first released, lots of comments were thrown around about that subject before people realized what she actually meant

Gotta be the only tv/movie couple where they correctly communicate with each other. No one shifts blame, they accept faults and because they were friends first they know what to expect from each other without much frustration

They are the best couple of Dreamwork for sure. They having so much scene time between the movies and TV shows really is a big factor. They really have the time to grow and learn about each other on screen. Which other couples usually only got to do in fan fiction

What I think happened between Riders of Berk and Race to the Edge is that Hiccup and Astrid both grew up a little more and started developing different interests, they started looking at their relationship as a childish crush. They may decide to take a break or break up and stay friends because of the change of personalities that happens between teen and adult.
I'm not sure how I feel abt that. We see Hiccup and Astrid are on good terms in Dawn of The Dragon Racers.

I love their relationship because it’s so healthy! You can have external conflict drive the plot, because the same dozen or so toxic flaws get boring after a while.
Cinema Therapy was going to do a couples therapy episode for Hicstrid, but they’re relationship was so healthy it was the first episode of Couples Goals lol.

Great job with this video. This is one of the most stable and relatable relationships in cinema. As I was rewatching the movies and series I actually noticed something that I think u didn't realize. So when Astrid wins the Dragon Race in the beginning of the 2nd movie, Stoick proclaims, "Yes! That's my future daughter in-law!" This implies that even though Hiccup and Astrid aren't married, Stoick has already accepted Astrid into the Haddock family. That is very significant to me. However, you got all the pivotal moments for this relationships in this video. Well done

the end of race to the edge is canon, cause at the end they show Drago trying to find his bewilderbeast
that doesn't necessarily mean its canon though. For example, we see Valka get her bewilderbeast egg... yet that thing is monstrously huge when they find it a year later. Are we expected to believe bewilderbeasts grow that large in just a year? Was that bewilderbeast still a child? we don't know, which is why I put the disclaimer :)

I Love and hate this couple so much at the Same time. I Love them because their relationship is so Well written and had been build Up over some time, its almost realistic. But i hate them because every time i See them they remind me that i couldnt get this type of relationship (or Not even a relationship itself) which makes me sad every time. Dear Lord, this is a long ass explanation. You've been warned:
One thing that I dont think people mention and its something that could just be my own interpretstion is that in the first movie, Astrid's coldness towards Hiccup felt a bit more like she was looking out for him. What I mean is that all her interactions with Hiccup before he started to train Toothless felt more like she's discouraging him from attempting to be a viking. Even though they weren't close, they've still known each other their whole lives (even if one side's perception of the other was not, at the very least, good.) This minor relationship would be enough for her to try and protect him since this is something he can't really handle. The other teens belittle Hiccup, but her interactions with Hiccup, at least from the way you mentioned it, make it feel this way. She just wants him to be safe, hence she said the things she said. To say that he's always in the wrong place at the wrong time can be interpreted many ways, but I personally see it as her believing that all of this craziness and chaos that comes to being a Dragon fighting viking is something Hiccup can never do. I've said too much, and honestly, I'd love to say so much more, but my point in general is:
Astrid cared for Hiccup even before Hiccup met Toothless. She wanted to protect him from doing something he cant do. Its as simple as that.

My head canon of why they are not immediately a couple after the first movie ending. It's because they are young (only 15), it's their first crush/love and they are awkward about how to proceed. Specially given all the eyes on them after Hiccup is accepted by the tribe and for everyone is finally on the path to succeed Stoic as chief someday. They are like those teenagers that everyone on their social cycle keeps shipping them, and they like each other but are not comfortable in showing affection in front of our their mutual friends and close family members. As they grow older and mature it's get harder and harder for them to deny their connection, specially as it's deepens based on shared experiences and companionship as friends. So they finally ignore the social pressure and awkwardness and just get together.
I love those shows and movies but I feel like there wasn't enough of the movies and shows I think they were really good and I loved them I just wished they made more episodes.

I usually never ship fictional characters, but these two are an exception.
The end of HTTYD 3 suggest that the knowledge of the dragons and the Hidden World was passed down among either the Berkians themselves, or at the very least, the chiefs of Berk/New Berk for the next thousand years until the dragons could safely return to the world of men
THATS WHY ASTRID’S AXE HAS A CHIP IN IT!
To me the continuity with Homecoming and THW ending was the daughter's reaction. iirc Toothless never sees Hiccup in Homecoming as he is in the costume and he identifies him (and I assume the Zephyr) by scent. I assume to Toothless's eyes, Hiccup looks very different after 10 years and as he himself hasn't changed, that may show a lack of understanding with human growth which is why he is initially aggressive. The daughter is in awe but says he's beautiful during Homecoming and is talking about how she loves them, but come the end of THW she cowers away from him when he lands on the boat, even after she sees he and Hiccup interact playfully.
That said, I'm possibly being uncharitable to a kid reacting to a dragon. The initial aggression could have been enough.

Dude Grimmel is the exact opposite of Hiccup if Hiccup killed toothless he would have basically became Grimmel because Hiccup preferred long ranged weapons like cross bows just like Grimmel I really like all the details from the 1st movie and the 3rd movie they have a lot in common
the only thing i have a problem with what you said was about the continuity error. HTTYD the hidden world came out before homecoming so in a sense the continuity was not there yet until after homecoming came out.
