I can clear up the confusion on Noivern. They’re part of the Lucario class of Pokémon. This group includes, Lucario, Zoruark, Noivern, Golisopod, Toxtricity, and Ceruledge/Armorouge. Pseudo-mascot Pokémon from each gen that are made up of a “baby” Pokémon and second stage

I personally think that Fairy-type always existed in-universe, people just didn't know until recently, and so they re-categorized several previous Normal-types into Fairy-type. You see this happen a lot in the real world too, sometimes we believe something is a certain way, but as we learn more about it we discover it wasn't quite what we initially thought.
Also, just want to mention that Noibat/Noivern is my favorite Dragon-type Pokemon.

Who else experienced the pain of using Noibat in USUM? It can be found around Level 10 right after the first trial but it doesn't evolve until Level 48 (which would basically mean you wouldn't have Noivern until Poni Island). Stat wise, Noibat has the same stats as Zubat but with Attack and SpA switched around, so a middle stage would've definitely helped it be more useful. I remember when my Noibat (a mon that's 4x resistant to Grass moves) was KO'd by Lusamine's Lilligant, and Noibat wasn't even really underleveled!

My theory is about one of my favourite Pokémon: tentacruel
In the dex entries, it says it has 80 tentacles while clearly having only 8. I think the reason why its like this is because he has 10 tentacles on each main tentacle that create one big one, and if you muliply 10 by 8 and you get 80 smols which is 8 bigs
I think thats pretty cool since it makes tentacruel creepier that way, imagine it with all open. And it also makes sense in real life, since tenta is based on jellyfishes (despite not being similar to them in any way) who have a lot of tentacles, it would make sense for him to just group all of them into one

I think another in-universe reason for the fairy types only existing beyond gen 6 could be due to the gimmicks. Like the energy that causes mega evos, z-moves, g-Max, and terastalizing also causes fairy types to exist for some reason

  • @some_man_tiks
    @some_man_tiks 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

To push the Fairy theory to the top. With fallers being around this time, it's not too farfetched that they could come from an alternative universe. That or we are exploring that alternative universe. Up to gen 6, everything was a remake. They introduced fairy type and mega evil in ORAS which weren't in the OG games.
Another note is that they could be Ultra Beasts. The term Ultra Beats never really got set in stone tbh. These Pokemon could not be from that version of earth.
Pokemon have been able to change typings in the past. Maybe they changed their typing because they could.
Last thought I have, for now because I had another bit forgot while typing this comment, irl things get reclassified all the time. Maybe the fairy typing actually existed the entire time and, not knowing about that classification, there was no data that proved it's existence

  • @DreamLionViolet

I’ve had a similar theory to the first one for years!
My theory is that Xerneas was the only Fairy type, and all other fairy types are pokemon they brought back to life. That’s why fairy types only exist on the timeline where the ultimate weapon was fired.
Any Pokémon who gained the fairy types where ones who died and where revived by magic.

I guess if that first theory were true it would add an extra layer of craziness to my special Goodra. I caught a Goomy in a raid that had the Fairy Tera Type and then transferred it to Legends Arceus and evolved it there so it would evolve into Hisuian Sliggoo. After that I put it back into Violet and evolved it into Goodra, so that's how I got a naturally Fairy Tera Type Hisuian Goodra that was caught in Violet

Funny thing about explaining where fairy type comes from is that gen 6 introduces the idea that every game and every save is its own universe. This means that each time a type is “introduced” we are actually just playing in a universe where they always have existed.

The Noivern theory actually can be possible. However I totally disagree with the Fairy-Type theory, simply because that Dark and Steel types also didn't exist in Pokemon from the beginning. They only debuted in Gen 2, which occurs 3 years after the events of Gen 1, and just like with the Fairy-Type, the Magneton line got the Steel-Type in Gen 2 despite not having it in Gen 1. So if the Fairy-Type isn't originally from the Pokemon world, then how can you explain the Dark and Steel Types? It just doesn't make any sense.

On the point of Fairy Types possibly having come from Laverre City, I can't say that actually makes that much sense as I'm pretty sure Legends Arceus takes place likely even far before Laverre City's establishment, and it has some naturally-occurring Fairy-Types such as Mr. Mime. One could say that they're still not "naturally-occuring" due to the space-time distortions that occur in that game, but I'm not sure about that. Is there any mention of those distortions occurring ever before the protagonist falls into Hisui? I haven't played much of the game, so I don't know too much.

Fairy type always existed, but was unrecognized. Much like Dark and Steel, WAY BACK in gen2. The types existed, but were unrecognized by Humans at the time. Much like Pichu, in Gen1, Oak Thought Pikachu was the START of its line... but Elm in gen2 Proved that wrong, discovering Both Pichu AND Dark and Steel types, then Learning that pokemon come from eggs, just a bit later.
      In game lore.
A character at the lab in Kalos Says the same about Fairy type being newly discovered, and several Pokémon being reclassified.
This happens in reality all the time, They see a species of bird, fish, lizard, plant, etc, and say "oh, that's This thing" only to learn upon further inspection that it's NOT "This Thing" but an entire "Other Thing" altogether.

The cut evolution makes sense because Kalos' Goodra (not the Hisuian variant) was not that good in the competitive games of vgc due to its base stat on how it relies on and its typing of only dragon and not having another second type of water or poison. And yes Pseudo legendaries are supposed to be the end next to the legendaries, and I think Noivern does give the design of a dragon and mythical beast like of a bat and dragon and it is tall because pseudo legendary pokemons have to be that intimidating and tall and cool or cute.... For Avalugg, it think it does or no... Kalos' Avalugg's typing is still staying... for Hisuian Avalugg would've been better if its typing as different from Ice/Rock to Ice/Ground... Why? The shiny of Hisuian Avalugg because of the jaw colored as orange which looks like lava or magma and idk but the outlines it its body... it seriously would've been Ice/Ground and would've had equal defenses to become bulky... but also having equal offenses because it is mountain bit also coming out from the ground, the low grounds and not the high grounds... Avalugg could learn few fire moves for Fire Fang, Fire Spin and and some ground moves like Earthquake, Bulldoze, Earth Power, Dig etc... and probably this theory is just about 50/50 possible but depends if Kalos just suddenly had three pseudos with just officially being Goodra and fan wanting for Noivern also for its mid evo cut and even Avalugg.

It is a fan term, but the pattern has been consistent. It is a three stage Pokémon, usually only one per region, usually Dragon-type, and the final evolution's BST is 600. They are known as something along the lines of "The 600 Club" in Japan.
But there are exceptions. As mentioned in the video, there are two pseudo legendary Pokémon in RSE, one of which, Metagross, is not Dragon-type. The other non-Dragon-type is Tyranitar. But wait; there's more! With the addition of Archaludon in SV, which has a 600 BST, some fans say that it is the first two-stage pseudo legendary Pokémon.

3:43 im not far into the video but here’s my thoughts so far, what if each region has it’s own “unique” types like how so many fan games will introduce new ones. They could be super localized to start off with but eventually if conditions are met in other regions they could start thriving there they can then be recognized as their own official unique type and that’s what happened with fairy and steel and dark for gens 6 and 2 respectively. Kinda like dog breeds I guess lol like what if steelix wasn’t encountered until someone from kanto saw one naturally in johto and then introduced the evolution method to kanto and that caused steel to be recognized as a new type. Eevee could be one of the easiest test subjects for new types hence umbreon and sylveon due to their abnormal dna.
