  • Seattle is one of the "greenest" cities in North America. The "Emerald City" is urban yet green, sophisticated and yet not snobby. Seattle has something for everyone. In this video, Erik The Travel Guy explores some of his favorite spots.
    The Underground Tour - The guided walking tour begins beneath Doc Maynard’s Public House, moves to Pioneer Square, and then travels underground for an exclusive view of the buried city. 75- 90 minutes. www.undergroundtour.com/
    Fremont Troll - This amazing Troll Under the Bridge is an interactive, 6.5-ton, mixed media statue made by local artists. www.seattle.gov/neighborhoods/...
    The Museum of Flight - Large educational museum with aircraft & space vehicles on display, historical exhibits & more. General admission for adults is $21.00. The Museum is open daily from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. www.museumofflight.org/
    The Seattle Aquarium at the Seattle Waterfront - The best harbor views are from the central portion, near the Seattle Aquarium. The aquarium is a popular spot for families and offers an underwater viewing dome, coral-reef tank, otters & a touch-tank. Tickets for adults are $29.95; youth (ages 4-12) are $19.95. Open 9:30-5:00 PM daily. www.seattleaquarium.org/
    The Space Needle - Iconic, 605-ft.-tall spire at the Seattle Center, with an observation deck & a rotating restaurant. The observation deck is open daily from 8:00 AM - midnight. Tickets range from $19-$29, with the earlier price for early morning and later evening. www.spaceneedle.com/home/

    Seattle is a beautiful city, but some of the attractions are over-rated. Yes, Pike Place is cool. Space Needle is overpriced, especially if you have been there before. You can get great city views from Queen Anne. Explore Capitol Hill and First Hill, two great neighborhoods despite the negative press with some random issues. Also explore Fremont, Laurelhurst, Ballard, West Seattle. All have inviting restaurants/bars, (before pandemic).

    What no view of the massive homeless population here that keeps growing in record proportion?

    • @RVGrannyWA
      @RVGrannyWA 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The news today is that the city is working very hard to address this problem. They want to tax large corporations that make more than $20 million dollars annually, $500 for each employee to use toward a solution. I live in Tacoma with a similar although not quite as bad problem and our last two mayors have been very aware and have made some great strides in getting people off the streets and into housing. I believe powers in Seattle are similarly aware and working hard on possible solutions. Homelessness is soaring everywhere and Seattle because of a temperate climate is a credible place to live outside year round.

    • @bdh70
      @bdh70 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They just repealed the tax and nothing is being done. People are moving here from all over the country to pitch tents on our streets. It's disgusting, stay away. And for god's sake don't move here.

    • @muffin6810

    • @davidcarter2720

      @@bdh70 - such a cynical viewpoint. We have deeply serious problems, and with 2020 raging in full-on mind-boggling chaos - I STILL love living here. The bridge connecting me easily to Seattle is closed for at least 18 more months, a pandemic is raging, many of the businesses that make this place special are either closed or in limbo ... but this is still a great place to live, albeit expensive.

    Just there for a business trip and walked around over the weekend. Nothing extraordinary in Seattle. The city is very crowded where you can hardly find any parking. Everything will cost you money except for a few out-dated museum. What I really didn't like about Seattle is all the noise, construction and traffic. If you are looking for something relaxing and eye-pleasing, don't go there. If you are craving for city life, it seems to be alright.

      you should get the sentiment erik...of course there are more boring places. For a major city that prides itself on having a diverse culture with all sorts of unique activities to participate in and areas to explore, Seattle is none of those things. The Space Needle, Pike Place Market, weed dispensaries and the International Fountain...really, is that the best you got?
