This is so helpful! I'm curious about something, is the layover tour ended and you're back on the airport on time? I'm worried because i only have 1 hour and 20 minutes spare from when the tour ended to my connecting flight. Do you think my timeline's doable?
Yes, I think so! There were other people on our tour who also needed to rush back for their connecting flight within an hour. And I think they actually ended our tour an hour early for those people so they would have even more time to get to their flight. They are very good at making sure you won't miss your flight and they probably won't even let you go if it is too close. Once you reenter the airport you have to go back through security and immigration, so time will vary for that.
Additional Question: How long did security and immigration take for you when you arrived back at the airport to get to your gate? We are trying to also go rest at the transit hotel upon returning if we do not stay out since we have 6 hours after the tour before our flight.
We had to go early in the morning (right after we landed) to a stall where you can sign up for the tour. I think the stall opened at 7am and the tour was 8am or 9am. We didn't need a visa as we hold British and Canadian passports - the list of exempted countries can be found online on Incheon's airport website
I am going on this tour in July. Is it possible at the end of the tour to not return to the bus and stay in the city and return to the airport on my own? I have another 6 hours left after the tour so I was considering staying in the city longer. Are you required to return on the bus or should I just consider going out on my own if I want to stay longer.
Hi! I think it's possible to do this. On the tour their policy is that if you don't make it back to the bus in time at each stop, it's up to you to make it back to the airport on your own. So I don't think they would have an issue with you staying longer :) You'd just need to tell your tour guide.
I checked the KTO page and you can book online of at the airport, the online reservations get soldout quickly but they said it's just less than 50% of the total tour population
You do if you are not a passport holder of one of the many exempted countries. The list of exempted countries should be on the airport website. We are British and Canadian, so did not need any extra documentation :)
You just need to go to the correct tour stand at the airport to reserve your place. We didn’t have much time to eat in Insadong, so I recommend getting street food. There’s a lot of art stores and ceramics too
We left at 8am, arrived at the tour 9am, left the tour 12pm, arrived back at the airport 1pm for the people who had flights around 3pm. Our flight was at 5pm so we didn’t have to rush at all. They take down the flights of everyone touring to make sure we get back in time, and they wouldn’t allow you on the tour unless your layover is long enough to accommodate :) hope that helps!
it’s so great meeting such a lovely couple like you both! enjoy canada and have a safe trip back🫶

Did you have to do reservations online? Or just book it when you checked in your flight, or layover in Incheon?

How to avail the tour we have 15 hours lay over too in May .is transit visa needed?
This is very nice video! Did you have to make reservation for this tour? Also, What would you recommend buying in Insadong street?
You just need to go to the correct tour stand at the airport to reserve your place. We didn’t have much time to eat in Insadong, so I recommend getting street food. There’s a lot of art stores and ceramics too
Are credit cards accepted in Insadong? Or is it strictly cash?
Can you give me the timeframe from tour to getting back to the airport? Was it a rush to check back into the airport?
We left at 8am, arrived at the tour 9am, left the tour 12pm, arrived back at the airport 1pm for the people who had flights around 3pm. Our flight was at 5pm so we didn’t have to rush at all. Just extra for snacks and coffee :) There are places to exchange at Insadong as well as the airport
Are you required to bring your luggages with you on the tour?
Nope, you can leave it at the airport with the tour officials :)
I was worrying about this, good thing they hold luggages.

It was about 4 hours! (8-9am to get through immigration) 9am-1pm tour including travel time back to the airport
