I feel like each ore golem should give you an special effect when they hit you. Coal would give blindness, iron would give you slowness, emerald gives poison, gold gives weakness, etc.. Also the deepslate variety of each ore would have double the health but half the movement speed.
It was such an awesome opportunity to make these golems for Knarfy's video! It was hard work, but so worth it, and I'm so incredibly proud with how they turned out. And for those who loved the ore golems; Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad you loved them as much as me and knarfy did. :3

I’d probably lower their spawn chance to either 5, 10, or 25% and change their loot drop to the resource instead of the ore. I’d also make them each have different stats so that as you go deeper, the golems tend to get more difficult. The final change I’d make (purely to stop duping) would probably be some safeguard against silk touch, but I could see myself leaving this one out for the farming potential of diamonds and lapis

i think it'd be interesting if the ore guardian had 0.5% chance spawning and on death dropped either the raw block of that ore or the refined one if the ore doesn't have a raw block (so raw iron block, raw copper block, lapis block, diamond block and maybe instead of netherite block a netherite golem would drop 2-6 ancient debris, or would drop a netherite block but would be super OP)

The ore golems would be great as an actual mod. Especially if there was a few slight changes: If only one golem at a time could spawn at each naturally generated ore vein/cluster (only naturally generated not placed by player), it would be less OP and more difficult to farm. If you wanted to farm an ore you would have to do some work like for any resource farm. You'd have to find naturally generated ore and build a designated spawn area, kill chamber, and something to attract them (perhaps if there are no players around for them to guard the ore from, they'll gravitate towards the ore vein they spawned from). I think that would be pretty cool.
