Yes Fairmont is open! We have not been fishing over there yet but hopefully soon!

Jon and G, do you have a pic of that river hook set up you used? Can you use two poles per person down there?

I took a picture but not sure how to post photos in a reply. Basically it’s a 3 way rig, one way has about 8-10” of line tied to a weight (we used 1 ounce casting weight) and about 16-18” on the other line tied to a small hook (you can use whatever kind of hook you want depending on size of fish you’re after). This tactic works for all Mississippi River species at certain times of year! Definitely use them for catfish in the summer!

@@g-mansfishingadventures what's the best time of day to be fishing those jumbo perch? You think we got one more weekend down there till they are spawned out?

@@MakOutdoors I think it changes by day and location on the float. For us, 10:30-12:30 was the best time, then people in shallower did better for the rest of the day. We still caught a few here and there. I think this weekend will probably be the end of the run because flows will be coming up and water temps warming. Also, yes you can have 2 poles. We usually have one pole per person with a river rig and one casting for walleyes and northerns
