    Were you riding my bike around in New York again? 😂 😂 😂 I just had to make the joke. I just ordered this exact bike from your shop in Brooklyn this past weekend with help from Matchmaker Basheir Babikir(Nice guy with professional service. 😊). I Loved ❤️ seeing your review of this bike, she is a beauty and yesterday I got word that she is in Massachusetts and ready for me to pick up at my local freight company. I have bought two bikes from you guys in the past and couldn’t be more happy with the experience I received. Thank you Chris and your Staff for all you do for the electric bike community, you guys Rock! 😊

    Coil springs make the most sense for commuters really. They're not mountain bikes and you're not jumping off of huge drops where air springs can play out their strengths, instead you'll want something that absorbs small bumps well and is low maintenance, and that's exactly what coil springs are.

      I agree. I had a bike with air suspension forks made by Marzocchi. Eventually they started leaking so I went to get them repaired thinking it would be simple job of replacing leaky seals. However the very nice bike repair man told me that they would have to send the forks off to Marzocchi and then told me how much it would cost and asked me if I wouldn't just prefer to buy some new cheaper forks. 😏
      Just as well I ended up doing nothing because my bike was stolen a few weeks later.
      Anyway I've have had no serious issues with any spring loaded forks and pretty much zero maintenance.

    Today, I was going to buy this bike, but after the test ride, I compared it to the Ultimate T10+. Although the C380+ was quiet, and smooth; it seemed lacking in handling, and responsiveness compared to the T10+. I took the T10+ home with me, because it was so much more fun. That’s not to take away from the other bike, which does everything well, and probably will have less maintenance. It just depends on what you’re looking for - both are great bikes.

    Shifting without moving is handy in dense traffic, where you sometimes have to (almost) stop unexpectedly. Click back and take off again.

    In the netherlands you get 2 keys with your bike, and you need both for the insurrance.
    So don't loose one.

      And the AXA lock goes with a good chain with which you can attach your bike to a tree, lamppost, or bike rack.
      The chain is 'jackplugged' into the AXA lock, so only one key needed.

    Better than the owners manual! I have this bike. It’s great. Turbo mode really depletes the battery fast without adding much speed. Easy to pedal without assist to 12-14 mph. Exceptionally well designed and finished.

    Mine’s on the way. I will be upgrading the Bosch display to the Nyon, different pedals, and a suspension seat post.
    I test rode the Ultimate T10+ and liked it, but I think the hub version will be easier to maintain and nicer in the long term.

    Wow, this might be my favorite e-bike choice so far. I bought the Lectric XP to replace my car, save money, and save for one of these really nice e-bikes. And I had bought the Lectric XP specifically for it's folding aspect and its 28 MPH max speed. It turns out the folding aspect isn't so useful to me after all. I tried taking it on a bus with me and this thing is still massive when folded. It's also heavy. I had to sit in the handicap seating area of the bus, and luckily there was only one other person who needed that area.
    I think that this Gazelle e-bike would be an excellent main bike for the Seattle area where I live, and I could either get a super cheap road bike for loading onto bus bike racks when I need to, or a non-electric folding bike that is lighter, but it would still suck riding back up to the top of this big hill I live on without the electric assist.
    I also like the high-step of this Gazelle bike. Now that I've experienced a low-step or step-thru on my Lectric XP, I can say that I miss having the opportunity for crossbar packs for extra storage. With a high-step, I can still step through the bike just fine--I'm flexible enough to step over even a flat crossbar if I tried. A high-step seems like a perfect compromise to me.

    I just purchased used a C380 plus high step with 93 miles on it from Pro Closet in Colorado.
    $3,099.99 add sales tax and shipping the final cost was $3,417.73.
    A mid step would have been nice but with tax new would set me back just over $5,000.
    I paid $5,000 out-the-door for my first 2 year old Toyota in 1984.
    The prices are nuts. It is a nice bike but even my $1,600 mark down over new seems too much.
    I think the bike new is worth $2,800.

    I just got one of these and while I love it, the rack is terrible and meant to force a person to buy Gazelle's bags, which aren't waterproof. As someone who rides 7 days a week in the Pacific Northwest, are there any waterproof paniers you know of which will achieve three points of contact while hooking over these absurdly shaped, large bars? If I have to get their MiK rack adapter, is there a MiK bag you sell that is all weather without needed a rain cover?

    Nice bike (that had some pretty hard reviewing if you the damage all around)
    As for "sporty" vs "upright" position: I'm waiting to make switch towards upright, because my current bike (with spring seatpost) is still giving me troubles with the spine, and think the other position is help to avoid.

  • @Cloydfunk
    @Cloydfunk 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    My only concern with this bike is the lack of a rear suspension. Does the seat post suspension do an adequate job of dealing with pot holes, curbs, and modest trail riding? Thank you.

    • @rncondie
      @rncondie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not an off road bike. The tires are skinny.
      I replaced the seat with our old Specialized Roll “cup” seat.
      I would invest in a spring loaded cup seat from Specialized before investing in a spring loaded seat post.

      Those Schwalbe tires can go through glass and won't puncture. Just check for little sharp stones and glass once a week and remove them. If you leave them they might slowly eat through the tire.

    So "Walk-Assist" doesn't actually power the bike forward? I've seen that it can be set for "1 to 3 mph" and was thinking it would help slowly push the bike up the stairs to my 3rd floor apartment. No?

    • @catherinecat6182
      @catherinecat6182 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it does push the bike forward. it spins the motor and cranks at a pretty slow pace, perfect for things like going up stairs

      Walk assist is great for going up stairs. Going up is easier then going down stairs with walk assist.
