He's said in interviews, "I rip myself off all the time," referring to how he'll pore over his old material from years ago and try to filter/refine/augment it to make newer, better songs out of them.
LYRICS: This is the one we were hoping for, She loves while he lies She held his back all the way now her arms so tired Why didn't he stay? This is the one we were hoping for He cries when she loves He laughs his way down to when he'll realize Now he will say Say you weren't cool, say you weren't fine, Say you weren't tough enough, strong enough for my love? Say you weren't cool, say you weren't fine, say you weren't tough enough; strong enough for my love? This is the one we were hoping for. She dies when he lies. She held her eyes down as he walked on by. Well she said oh no. He cries, she lies Then he dies Say you weren't cool say you weren't fine, Say you weren't tough enough, strong enough for my love Say you weren't cool say you weren't fine, Say you weren't tough enough, strong enough for my love
@cyanaether his newer stuff just shows that his human.. i will explain... his older stuff on 'Sometimes' was very sad/meaningful/ heart-spoken/ FUCKING AMAZING! whereas his new stuff is a part of his life where he is happier, so there is the same emotion put into it, but just a higher tempo, and a happier feel to them :)
@Woodstring72 I always thought it was a really early demo version, because of it being called "when she" and Fragile Bird having the lyrics "when she sleeps" in them, but that might just be

When looking for The Grace, its actually the Neverending White Lights who ft. dallas green in the song i'd reccommend a "city and colour discography" google search
go to flvto.com and put the link from the song on youtube. thats what i do hehe :) or you can probably find them on the itunes store. or just google where to download them :)
It's the same chords as Fragile Bird (possibly and early version of it) with a capo on the 5th and his usual style of hammer-ons and pull-offs.
thank you
nearly 5 years later and this song is just as good!
dallas' music always gives me such an emotional rush... goosebumps.
I looooooove this song.

If it's by City and Colour, I always expect it to be great, and it always is!!
Love this song

I know that it is not Fragile Bird, but the riff definitely sounds similar. Maybe it's just me idk. Either way this is awesome.
thx for the share!! i love it!

Yeah I see that now, after listewning to it through properly, but hey-ho, all of his songs are amazing, so it doesn't really matter
Aww, you posted it on valentines day
@sipes3
The Grace is not a city and colour song..it is Neverending White Lights with dallas green singing..
I'll repeat, it's not a song it's a feeling.
I feel responsible for at least a thousand views on this song.
