I keep wondering if we could use the whey that slowly develops on yoghurt instead of rice water but I think we would just get LAB and not EM which should also contain phototrophic bacteria which plays an important role.

Maybe with your environment/weather, 4 days may be too long. After u have collected your rice water, just smell it every day until u smell that it has changed from a plain smell to a sweetish one. That's the time u can add to the milk already
Wattering and/or spraying your plants with simple and humble "aqua di bosta" is good for your plants, but don't do it indoors. Ask my plants. If it is EM or not I have no idea and it is not a big thing. The plants like it. If you are lucky to have a farm neighbor, ask him/her to let you collect some fresh calf manure wich is naturally trampled already containing calf urine. Put the bosta in a plastic bucket, add water, mix, cover, let it ferment (stinks) for a few days. Water you plants with this aqua di bosta. If you want to spray leaves, good, but since it smells don't choose to spray exactly when you expect to receive any fancy visitors. The strong smell will vanish in a few days. KEEP IT SIMPLE.

I've seen guys doing cannibis in hydro grow logs swear by beneficial microbes in the nutrient solution I'm sure a foliar spray of this would be fine as long as no bright lights are on until it dries.
@@naturallyfatima5205 Depend on the quantity of your EM liquid. For example, if your EM liquid is 1 liter you can add jaggery about 1.5 kilos or 2 kilos. More jaggery you added to make your EM smell good.
Ok, so thanks for the demo but em-1 is for using on bokashi. Itself is not a fertilizer. The leachate from bokashi it's a fantastic fertilizer and the bokashi itself. Again great demo on making em-1.
Think this might be a language translation technicality. However EM1 is not only for bokashi and technically is a fertilizer because the Effective Microorganisms are breaking down nutrients in rock, sand and organic material into a usable form for the plant….so it is fertilizing.
What they have here is a straight lactic acid bacteria culture. Not the actual proprietary EM-1. Which has many different bacteria and fungi. So it won't do anything for inorganic material. You need fungi for that. I'll give you that when they pour it on the plants soil it will break down material in the plants pot thus will fertilize. Spraying on the leaves does nothing as far as fertilizing. It could potentially out-compete any other harmful bacteria to keep the plant from getting a disease so more like a probiotic.
LAB is used for Bokashi EM1 is a product made by TaraGanex.. yes they can be interchangeable however 99% of people use labs not effective micro organisms. There’s also 2 Versions of AEM activated effective micro organisms you can make it from processing EM1 in AEM or a company that has no relations to Teraganx makes it as well. LAB can be applied directly to the soil or in the dilution rate. It is found naturally in healthy Ecosystems specially in Forest floors
No. EM1 is fertilizer for soil not for the plants. I use EM to improve the soil (add good bacteria in it) so that plants can easy to absorb the fertilizer that I put in soil. Yes I use some trype of fertilizer for my plants such as chicken manure, cow dung and many more.
@@oneloveyessah Thats not true. EM also has Purple Non-Sulfur Bacteria and yeast along with the LAB. Adding sugar to LABS doesnt make it EM unless you add in the other two.
This isn't em1, it is lactic acid bacteria. You can store it in the fridge for a couple weeks, or you can mix it with molasses to activate and stabilize, then you don't need to refrigerate. A little goes a long way. When used as a foliar feed the beneficial bacteria will outcompete powdery mildew and other pathogens.

You can use water from pond, river, and also rain. However if you use water pipes, it needs to be rested for 2 days to release chlorine in it.

Just make sure water not direct from faucet rain water is the best and all containers must clean up by boiling water
