Great tip Levi! Thanks for sharing. Definitely going to try this with my son. Actually might try this myself too!

Good tip! One thing I do to practice out of a tree stand (ladder stand) is have the bow ready on hanger, just as if I were hunting. Go back from the ladder about 20 yards, run to the ladder, climb up as quickly as possible, grab the bow, and shoot at my 3D buck target. It is meant to mimic the excitement before the shot with your heart rate up and all. It's helped me out over the years...

This is such an old school approach. Same with drawing and not firing. I'm with it

Cool man, not a tournament shooter only a hunter and dad taught me the same way, 45yrs later I still do the same thing, and pass it along

Yeah I do that myself plus that walk back and forth will get your heart rate up and make you consentrate on that one shot like a hunting situation.

What taught me that lesson was when i started shooting well...hitting other arrows got expensive fast! I at least learned to aim each arrow at a seperate spot!

It reminds me of when I was a kid playing baseball and my uncle was the coach. At practice if there was a popup and you yelled I got it and you dropped it or if you caught it and you didn't yell I got it. You got to run to a gravel pile that was a few hundred yards away and bring back a handful of gravel and give to him. Then you immediately had another ball hit to you to see if you had learned from your lesson. Not many balls were dropped.

This is the same concept as walking instead of riding a cart when you play golf

My dad told me always make the first shot count!! Weather it's a gun or a bow if you make the first shot count then you may not need a second shot!!
