I'm also due to stay here for two nights soon and have booked a runway view room, so as Zeph has said, your review is timely and appreciated. The last time I stepped foot into this hotel was way back in 1976 as a 12-year old attending a hi-fi exhibition with my dad! It was known as the Heathrow Hotel back then and during the exhibition lots of the rooms were filled with equipment on display by brands such as Sony, Pioneer, Hitachi etc.
Wow I didnt think it was an old as that. They have certainly passed the paint brush over a few times since. Hope you have a great trip and a great stay at the Hyatt. You are always dependent on the aleternations at heathrow. But you should certainly see quite a bit from the Hyatt.
@@SomeBlokeWhoTravelsALot I really enjoyed my stay here this weekend just gone; what incredible views! Incidentally, I was completely wrong about the 1976 exhibition, mentioned before. That was, in fact the Renaissance, which apparently also used to be known as 'the Heathrow Hotel' when it opened back in the 1970s and before it became the Penta Heathrow. All very confusing, but I'm rapidly becoming something of an authority on Heathrow Hotel history!
Looking to stay here in about a weeks time in a Runway view room, all other reviews are very old so this came right on time for me, did you have a chance to eat at the hotel? is the food alright? thanks again - Subscribed!
Hi, firstly I didnt eat in the hotel ( I actually went and had dinner at the Hilton so I could enjoy their Runway Bar ) However as you can see in the video I loved my room at the Hyatt. I thought it was great modern, well though out design. But the window has got to be one of the best views. As the other hotels I have stayed in are single frame windows
Thanks for this review. I’m hoping that this hotel is walkable from Heathrow. It looks as if it may not be. I got annoyed once at a Hilton that purported to be at T5. It involved a bus ride and coins were required, which was very irritating. I’m on a Hyatt kick at the moment-heading to that lifetime Globalist status-this hotel looks as if it should be on my Heathrow list.
A quick Google search answered my question. “Hyatt Place, London Heathrow Airport is easy to access from the Heathrow central bus station located close to terminal 2. From here you can take the free bus U3 that is 4 stops away, which will take you directly outside the hotel. Journey time will be around 5-10 minutes and the buses are rather frequent.” So it looks as if getting to his hotel is a breeze. I’ll just have to remember to shop at my new, favorite M&S minimart in Terminal 2 first.
Hi, firstly thank you for watching. With Heathrow, virtually nothing is walkable especially with luggage. Exceptions being Sofitel (covered walk way ) Thistle Hotel (Pod Cars ) for Terminal 5. Hilton, Crowne for Terminal 4 and The Hilton at T2 for Terminal 2. However ( after a good few years ) I have found the bus services around Heathrow pretty easy to use. I just use Google Maps App on my phone and it will tell you the correct bus and its stop from your location to the hotel and vis versa. Most Hotels also offer a shuttle bus ( usually a small fee ) I would avoid black taxis as they are very expensive.
@@SomeBlokeWhoTravelsALot Thanks for the update. That bus service looks good. I couldn’t help thinking, as I went on safari around Heathrow on Saturday and again on Sunday, that if they had to do it again, that airport would be designed a lot differently! I imagine airside trains would be a feature, but alas!

Glad you have found a route to the Hotel. I do like Loyalty point chases whether Hotels or Airlines. So good luck with that.

One of the most boring 3 minutes of my life
Sorry Pearl. I do try not to put everyone to sleep 😂 but I also aim to get the practicalities across of the hotels I stay in.
