You can also prime this pump using the filler cap but again it needs to put back wrench tight. Secure the pump and gas with a ropes. Also due to the pump vibrations you need to put something (piece of wood etc) under the hose as it will wear on rocks and create a hole in time. It is also very important to keep all flammable material ( grass etc) away from the muffler as it gets very hot ( trust me).

We used to have these mounted on a piece of plywood with straps so we could carry them like a back pack. The poor pump man would have the mark 3 or mark 26 on his back, the jerry can in one hand, the tool box in the other and the suction hose wrapped around his neck. Fortunately in northern Manitoba water was never very far away. We would usually pin them to the ground by driving a stick through a hole in the plywood. These pumps had a nasty habit of vibrating themselves into the lake if you didn't restrain them in some way. I remember one fire where we had close to 5000 feet of mainline run out. This got us to the fire. We then wye'd off and sent a hose each way around the fire. We had probably 2500 feet in each direction from the wye. One of these was then wye'd off again with hundreds of feet of hose added to each branch of that wye giving a total of three nozzles. Despite the amount of hose and working against an elevation increase of about 50 feet the mark 3 still put out an impressive stream of water at each nozzle. I was always in awe of what that pump could do.

Muy buen video, pero las personas que aparezcan en el video deben portar su EPP de bombero forestal.

these are only manufacturer's recommendations and they are not on active fires.
