- Join us as we walk our day 12 on the Camino Portugues Coastal.
I had a rough night's sleep, making this morning a real struggle. Operating on zero energy. Something strange happened at the albergue last night. There were two noisy groups of pilgrims until past 1 am, and then everyone's alarms went off simultaneously at 6 am. Never experienced anything like it. My legs are aching, and it's a chilly morning. Desperately in need of coffee and a good stretch. Starting the walk, eager not to waste time and cover as much ground as possible. Finally, after 10 km of walking, the first coffee and breakfast feel like a true victory. Only another 11 km left to go.Today's journey is relatively easy with few challenges. Arrive at an amazing albergue at the end, complete with a pool and a lovely resting area. Hoping for a much better night's sleep tonight!

I am wondering how many km you averaged an hour. As I've trained, an hour always includes a short stop here and there to admire nature or to film. Did you have a common daily routine?
Thank you for your kind words. I think we averaged 20 km a day. At the beginning of the Camino is always an adaptation period. Then you set your routine that works for you. In this video I'm mentioning that closer to the end of the Camino I realized we had a well established routine.

I loved Camino del Norte! Unfortunately I only did part of it. One day I will return and do a whole one. Make sure you have a good rain poncho or at this time of year probably even rain pants and jacket. Buen Camino!

I bought the waterproof socks from Amazon. I was skeptical at first, but they do work!
