My friend heard about one of those deaths and told me a scary thing. IF YOU GET NIGHTMARES FROM HEARING ABOUT GHOSTS DO NOT READ THE REST OF THIS. He said a person fell out and got their head broken in half by the ride. Then he said that one time he went on the TTA and looked into The Buzz Lightyear ride... floating above the robot he saw something like a person, only it was a pale white. It whispered "heeeelp" and its head split in two... :O I never saw it myself and I don't want to.
@sideslide23 It's just the new laws. Back in 1967 the technology was considered new and completely safe. But since the laws are updated every now and then the PM would need major updating. On todays standards there would need to be more stairs, possibly enclosed vehicles, and a new track.
The deaths happened on Disneyland's Peoplemover. This is Walt Disney's world's version. One happened in 1967 and the other in 1980. And both were due to guest stupidity trying to jump from car to car. Darwinism at its finest.
That's why we can't have nice things :\ You can't see the glow in the dark shuttles in Space Mountain anymore (They put up a wall) due to people getting out or throwing stuff into Space Mountain.
@Xenomorph237 The only reason anyone dies on the Peoplemover is because they are idiots, like me, who jump from car to car and misstep. People dying from that is sad, but it is also a process of natural selection.
you mean the new old narration lol. the 80s/90s narration IS the old narration. late 90s through whenever is the new old narration lol. what does it sound like now?
Does disneyland rename the peoplemover? or did they just re name the ride? Oh and by the way the deaths of these people on this ride were there faults, not the rides.
I miss going to the magic kingdom and riding the wedway people mover and the monorails and the carosel of progress

fuck off with that stupid shit
I miss ORAC-1. I used to have his whole speech memorized because I rode the PeopleMover so much.
this one is in 1991 though, this isnt the new speil, but yes, they did get a new narration in 2009.
we used to constantly make fun of the lack of synchronization of the narration...something I sadly miss today
It was named The WEDway people mover bcause Walt Disney Imagineering used to be known as WED enterprises, named for Walt's initials
Wow, ORAC-1 one sounds more human than the current narration.
Orac didnt mention the Utopia on here. I wonder why not. the recording is there in earlier years
It was changed again about a week ago.. all of the attractions in tomorrowland are now referenced by the overhead annoucements

Awesome video! I love this ride.....thanks.
Yes
omg! this voice over sounds a lot like the new voice over that was added just a few weeks ago. i wonder if that was done on purpose ?!

Are you talking about the Disneyland version or WDW version
@Xenomorph237 They died on the Disneyland version, this version uses magnets and such and could never crush someone.
Sounds similar to this now, but I haven't been in a minute but I know it's the same post 2009 refurbed Space mt. narration.
i wonder who voiced ORAC-1
A couple sources say Ronnie Schell did the voice for ORAC-1, which makes sense since he had done some work with Disney before.
@Xenomorph237 I heard of those deaths... oh dear I think there is a video of one on the video scrollbar...
@Xenomorph237 I think it was Disneyland's ride where the casualties occurred.
It would have been cool if these things had onboard sound, rather than coming from overhead... like the Disneyland version
The overhead was part of the charm.
I miss the old narration with the "Now approaching....."
7:40 Did Jack Wagner record the Dreamflight narration?
@G2red89 me too. "Now approaching Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress" :) also Iiss the beep (or "bing") sound effect before the voice says something.
That's why we can't have nice things :\
You can't see the glow in the dark shuttles in Space Mountain anymore (They put up a wall) due to people getting out or throwing stuff into Space Mountain.
You can still see inside the dome though. They just have plexiglass upfront of you now.
They put a ceiling over the station to reduce the amount of light leak.

do you know how long i have searched for this audio!!!!!! THANK YOU
@Xenomorph237 That was California's version of the ride.
@DisneyfanBeckers I know the beep sound before the voice was original compared to the new generic sounding narration.
This is how I will always remember Tomorrowland's elevated railway as: The WedWay People Mover! "TTA" my foot! >:(
@Xenomorph237 Must be a long time ago because I havent heard anything recently. And they have better equipment now to prevent just that.
you mean the new old narration lol. the 80s/90s narration IS the old narration. late 90s through whenever is the new old narration lol. what does it sound like now?

This was the best version of the audio. The 1994-2009 audio is overatted and is not that good compared to this.
wow, thats pretty dramatic.
um
