If you are going to make a vehicle analogy, I think a better comparison would be that instead of Texas being a Ferrari, Texas is a Porsche Cayenne S. Able to run the Nürburgring as fast a Corvette but able to get down and dirty off road in four wheel drive mode if needed.
First half was a blow out but Clemson actually out played them in the second half. Generally Clemson is not a good second half team so that should be concerning for texas going forward. They wont beat Georgia or Ohio state unless they are able to play four quarters.
For the most part, Texas made them one dimensional. They really only outplayed us in the 3rd quarter. Klubnik is also a pretty good QB. He did, after all, beat Ewers in the Texas high school championship, so.... Our defense hasn't played a truly good QB pretty much all season, so it's good that they got some exposure now vs having to run up against Oregon/Ohio State right off the bat.
Texas was playing with a short deck in the 2nd half, with 60% of the OL either OUT or out of position plus RB that averaged 10 yards per carry in the first half. Texas should beat Arizona St and Oregon will probably win. I think Texas can deal with Oregon, will be a tough game but the defense will come through.
@@davidroman1654 agreed, but a lot of "fans" don't realize that. The fact that Goosby normally plays left tackle and was asked to switch sides and play right tackle is pretty amazing. That and a lot of the "fans" don't give credit that maybe, just maybe, the QB on the other side isn't just some chump and is actually pretty good. There were some throws he made that had to be perfect and they were.
Clemson is the 2nd best team they have seen all year. I believe Texas will cruise the rest of the way and face Georgia for a third time in the Natty but this time with a new run game they get the win and ultimate revenge
Bro Clemson had to actually play perfect and Klubnik balled out to keep this game close as it was. Texas covered the spread and played the best QB in the 1st rd. Give Clemson some credit instead of saying this bs about Texas. Also Texas is has been a semis types top 4 team for awhile now. Anything above that which they CAN do is called gravy. You can’t just compare game to games like it’s Apples to apples. Many different reasons why games went they way they did. All games played out a certain way and imo the most experienced coach of the teams that lost did the best job of all the losing teams. Experience of that was a major factor.
Texas fan here, I doubt they make it past the semi finals. They are good enough to beat Clemson and ASU, but they lack the killer instinct to put away teams. They let teams hang around too much, and against either Ohio state or Oregon you let them hang around and theyll win the game. Look at the other teams, the other 3 teams burried there opponets, with texas 31-10 got to 31-24. Yes we showed composure, but against ohio state or oregon that wont be good enough. Hope I am wrong
Sadly I agree. This is Sark and Quinns biggest flaws. They should have beat Clemson by 30 last night. Same with the Aggie's, same with several other games a d dame reason they dominated Georgia on the stat sheet two weeks ago but couldn't put them away. Sark cannot score in the second half. Gabriel will do exactly what he did last year at OU. It will be a close game and he will make plays late that Quinn Can't make and Sark will make some stupid calls (like going for it on 4th down when already ahead.. twice)
All these jokers looking at the glass half empty..None if you fools understand that Clemson was the toughest team anyone played yesterday by a mile!! Not to mention the motivation Clemson had with Kade returning home , rematch vs Ewers , underdog, nothing to lose. Such shallow takes here. .
So Cade lit them up with 336 yds. If Clemson had a solid run defense they would have won easily. They have been terrible at that all season. Texas will lose to anyone with a solid defense and passing attack. Clemson had a couple chances there near themed to make it really interesting. Go Tigers. Look forward to next season. I’ve thought all season that’s its Oregons year to win it all.
Texas getting ASU in the second round is like them getting such an easy SEC schedule. How have they been so lucky or is there a conspiracy in the works and it’s not luck at all? ;0) I’ll be physically sick if they win a NC but it’s definitely one of those years that you have everything align to where you have to take advantage of it when given so many breaks. I pray to God if they win it I’m shoving a pencil through my eye but if they don’t then they blew a perfect opportunity to do so.
Georgia by far has an easier task. Or conversely, Penn State. Penn State gets.. Boise State. LOL. That's a W. Georgia gets Notre Dame that really hasn't played anyone except A&M in the first of the year. Let's compare that to Texas's path. They just played the ACC champion. Next up, they play the Big 12 champion. After that, they're either playing the Big 10 champion or the Big 10 runner up (Ohio State). Lastly, if Georgia does what they normally do, then, Texas will have to play the SEC champion. So basically Texas will have to run the gauntlet against every single conference champion this year if things go the way people think it will go.... That's not easy.
@DennisCoffman-dd8ok People hate Texas because they haven't been relevant in 20 years, but in the last couple of years with Sark, they are actually back. Also, when Texas beats every conference champion and wins the third rematch vs. a team that has already beaten them twice and has been the TEAM for the past four years, it isn't an "Easy" schedule.
Everybody keeps saying Clemson got blown out…. Let’s not forget the pick 6 they called back on us…. Let’s not forget the Pass interference they didn’t call to get 14 points on the board. This game seriously should have went to OT! Stop being like the rest of the media. Clemson did not get blown out
Clemson had no business even being in the playoffs. Had Mario Christobal done his job Miami would have been there instead. Texas will defeat Arizona but the won’t make it pass the finals. I predict that OSU will defeat Oregon and ultimately make it to the Championship game and win it.
Texas depth showed up.

@@tonigroundsryan9136 ? Texas' depth at the offensive and defensive lines will carry them a long way.

Texas running the ball is unstoppable.
I can assure you, it’s stoppable, just not by Clemson
Wisner is the same type of banger on offense to what Michael Taffe is on defense.
Good comparison, but I was thinking maybe Helm is what Taffe is.
