Jew Vs. Anti-Israel Oldies

  • During the 2020 AIPAC Policy conference, two anti-Israel old-timers were protesting outside while spreading conspiracy theories and a plethora of false information. It is important to engage each individual with respect and to intellectually dismantle their position in order for them, or others listening, to understand the facts and see the truth.
A large part of this video talks about the history of the name “Palestine”. Regardless of the history behind this word, there is a group of people today called Palestinian and they must be included into the equation when finding resolution for the future of the land. There is no future without either Israelis or Palestinians, so it is imperative not to let individuals (especially foreign spectators) to manipulate history in order to pin one population against the other.
There is another video that I made on this topic that goes more in depth: / 257175904948203

His argument that gets him out of every Palestinian argument is "the jews have the right to claim their own land: Judea, because it was theirs 2 000 years ago. And also, Palestine was never a state because it was under the British, ottoman, byzantine (etc) rule ". Even if those are technically true, they aren't eligible to justify Israeli sovereignty and superiority.
Claiming something that was somewhat yours 4000 years ago doesn't make sense because jews have settled all over the world, they have created new cultures, and have mixed with people from everywhere (from Ethiopia to china to Poland). Thus, they aren't one common group or people anymore. You can't take an Ashkenazi and an Indian jew and tell them that they are actually from the same land, or belong to the same thin group.
During those 4000 years people have occupied the land, the latest people were Palestinians. They have been there for generations, for many centuries. Thus they have the right to claim it, even if they lived there under ottoman or British rule. They were not a state: they were people, families, landowners, farmers... With an identity and culture. No one has the right to displace them and put them in inhumane conditions. Jews immigrating mostly voluntarily from all over the world and settling in Palestine is simply not right, despite their claims.
Both sides should TODAY have the right to live there, but with equal rights, equal opportunities and duties. One state or two states, it doesn't matter as long as peace is a constant. The solution isn't in the past, the past is actually what makes more problems, what doesn't allow people to forget and move on. And that is because none of the sides is gonna magically disappear. Dignity and human rights for the Palestinians, overness and Liberty of problems for the Israelis.

For someone who, on the whole, sounds like he's making a pretty reasonable pro-Palestinian argument, this is a really disingenuous point. By comparing Ashkenazim with some minor groups like the Indian and especially Chinese Jews, the latter of which are essentially nonexistent today, you're skirting around the fact the major Jewish ethnic divisions that make up the bulk of the modern Jewish population, Ashkenazim, Sephardim and Mizrahim, have substantial genetic and historical connection to each other and the Levant. So no, maybe you can't say that to an Ashkenazi and an Indian Jew, but you certainly can say that to a Syrian, a Polish Jew, and a Samaritan.
That isn't to say there was absolutely no mixing with neighboring populations (but, at least in the case of Poland, there wasn't much from Poles; Ashkenazi European admixture comes mostly from Southern Europeans) but it's unlikely that Palestinians are any "purer".

I would like to point something out regarding the assertion that the Arabic speaking people referred to as Palestinians came from the Gulf during the Islamic conquests. Those referred to as Palestinians are genetically quite diverse. Look at the different Christian communities, for example, many of these are descended from Syriacs, Arameans, hellenized Jews, and so on. It would be wrong to delegitimize their equal right to live in the land based on the assumption that they are all descended from Gulf Arabs.

@@ronz2754 It's political. By the end of the 19th century the vast majority of the world population was ignorant and analphabets. They were what their leaders told them to be. (they as in the vast majority of the world) History tells a diferent story, there weren't that many arabs as there weren't that many romans before. The nationality was claimed by the co-workers as that's how politics used to be done. Identiry gets lost and revamped within generations. Our understanding today just differs because some groups sustained their identity (an exeption not a rule) due to not submitting or fisical traits that differ significantly. The mediteranean isn't one of those places. The identities of the mediteranean are completely fabricated by occupying elites, all of them. Same stronger due to a longer period of borders and government than others. No nation around this sea can define itself ethnically, impossible.

Honestly the second guy's arguments weren't that bad. He simply fall into the Palestinian designation trap as if it is an all encompassing proof. That's why appropriating the Palestinian identity was such a brilliant tactic and why we have to remind everyone that this is a romanized Hebrew word to begin with to finally bring awareness to this little inconvenience. The idea that since they call themselves Palestinians is proof of their legal status would be equivalent to Saharans becoming a separate national designation by this identification alone. It's simply formally incorrect.

This is what is known a "Straw man". Find your dumbest critic and then pretend that person represent all your critics and claim victory by refuting their weak arguments. How about addressing some real criticism.
The United States should end military aid to Israel.
    1. Military Aid to Israel is unnecessary. Israel is a very prosperous country and more than capable of paying for it's own military.
2.Military aid to Israel is a security risk to the United States. Israel has been selling American developed military technology to China for more than a decade. These sales have been instrumental in the modernization of China's military.
3.Military aid to israel is a diplomatic liability,
4, Military aid to israel is illegal under American law. Israel's human rights violations disqualifies Israel from receiving military aid under the Leahy Law and Israel's sale of nuclear weapons technology to the Apartheid South African government' disqualifies Israel from receiving military aid under the Symington Amendment.

Abraham, came from the land of Ur. His father, Terah, was a pagan, but both descendantsof Shem. When Abram left Ur, and "crossed over" the Jordan, he was then known as a "Hebrew", as Hebrew means to cross over. It was this act that made him special, not merely his genealogy. Abraham was not known as a Jew, as the word Jew is not even mentioned until Second Kings. Abraham had Isaac, Isaaac had Jacob, who's name was later changed to Israel, and Jacob had 12 sons who were known as the Children of Israel. To be known as the Children of Israel, it would be for anyone who walked in the way of Elohim's commandments, and feared The Most High. As goes for the Mitsrayite who fled during the Exodus and walked in the ways of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as with the same with the sojourner who did with the Children of Israel in the Wilderness.
Where people get confused today is they associate Israel, and Jew as the same. A Jew is one who is from the Southern Kingdom, the land of Judea. An Israelite, or Ephraimite, was from the Northern Kingdom of the House of Israel/Ephraim. Where is gets confusing is they could both be called an Israelite, but an Israelite is not exclusive to Judea. It would be like a Japanese person is Asian but not all Asian's are Japanese.
The gathering of the Children of Israel, who were lost in the dispersion, is not just for the tribe of Judah, it's for the whole House of Israel. As it says in Hoshea 1:10-11:
10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, You are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, You are the sons of the living El.
11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Yizreel.
When the Lost Tribes of House of Israel, they became scattered and intermixed amongst all the nations. They lost their identiity and their way of life. But this fulfilled the prophecy given by Elohim in Gensis to Abraham saying his seed being that of the stars and sand on the seashore. The Jewish Nation is small nation and does not fulffil this prophecy. But the House of Ephraim/Israel that has been scattered does!
So how do you become of the Nation of Israel, if you aren't from the tribe of Judah. You keep the commandments in the Scriptures. The tribe of Judah has added much to the Torah, the Christians have taken away from it, they even say it's been done away with, but the Torah means Instruction. Instructions from Elohim have never been done away with. There is the Original Insruction. And the Renewed Instruction given by the Son of Yah, Yehoshua HaMashiach. If you do that, that will make you Chosen, and of the Nation of Israel. It's not a genealogical blessing that is limited to just a particular group of people, it can be for anyone. It just so happens that only a specific genealogical group of people originally feared Yah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and so on. But the Nations were grafted in if they walked the same walk.
    Amen.

Don't talk about countries and the native Americans not having one. This doesn't matter, they had a connection to the land even though they didn't believe one can own it. What you are saying about Palestinians coming from Saudi Arabia is false and you know it. Just as is the case with Egyptians or Algerians, these people are ethnic to a land and became “Arabs” due to an arabization of the land. That came with an influence on the language and religion, which is why Arabic became the spoken language and many converted to Islam from whatever religion they were previously. That includes Judaism. Stop changing history and facts to suit your narrative and try to make it as though the Palestinians as we know them today were not indigenous to the land. There were a people living there regardless of what you say and what has happened to them by the hand of Zionism is a tragedy.

Also rudy contradicts himself with every breathe. Besides the examples I already gave in my other comment, when talking about arafat he says who was born and raised in Egypt by the way essentially detaching him from the region. This quote is problematic because it again shows the double standard he uses (Almost all Jews for over a thousand years have been born and raised outside of judea or any of the places where the tribes of Israel lived. The hypocrisy and double standards are honestly constant in this man's videos. Another point he makes in all of his videos is that you are from the place that that the culture of your people was made. Does this again only apply to Jews? According to him Palestinians have only been living there for 1500 years when Islam spread to the levant (this is false but I'll use his flawed premise to collapse his argument anyway) anyway when the culture of the people of the levant being Syria Palestine Lebanon and maybe some parts of Jordan was born does that not make them indigenous to the land according to you rudy?

  • @kmandromeda1156
    @kmandromeda1156 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I agree with you on many points but in terms of history I'm sorry but you have no idea what you're talking about at all. First you made the claim that there was never a state called Palestine or a state of Palestinians. This is true if you use the western European definition of a state but like you've said in other videos that's not how any group lived in the middle east before the British and French. Each area would simply be known as that specific region (for example the levant or the Persian gulf etc.) Then small communities would just govern over themselves much like the ancient judeans did;the people from the tribe of judea never had a formal state that governed the entire region did they? No that's because you're using British ideas to make your argument. However you are correct in saying that the entire region has been controlled by empire after empire whether a caliphate the Romans the babylonians etc. This is irrelevant though because the people living in all the places controlled by these empires had largely been unchanged. Its funny to me when people hold a double standard in saying that because Palestinians see themselves as Arabs speak Arabic and are part of the Arab league that they are the descendants of Arabs from Arabia. Nobody is saying the same thing about morrocans Syrians somalis or any other people that consider themselves Arab today. Do you know why? Because its the most stupid argument you could ever make and isn't backed by any genetic evidence either. That's basically like making the claim that when the Arabs went to morroco ALL of the natives were driven out and replaced by Arabs from Arabia and that's why they are Arabs today. Or that Syrians aren't the descendants of assyrians because when the Arabs took over Syria all the assyrians left or died out. NOBODY makes these claims because they are ridiculous and its the same with Palestine. The truth is that empires leave a mark on the population of a region and because of so many reasons like the Arabs controlling the region for so long, because everyone converted to Islam because the Arab caliphates were one of the most prosperous times in history of any civilization many people learned Arabic because it was the most useful language, the mark left by the Arabs is obviously greater than the Romans for example. Another point I would like to make is your stupid repetitive rants of the jews being THE indigenous population, my first point about this is a question WHERE ARE THESE JEWS YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT? As much as you deny it the Jews as a race died out long ago and modern Jews aren't really judeans or israelites but are Europeans or North Africans or Syrians etc with some broadly levantine ancestry maybe 20 or 30 percent and that's not even tracing back to the ancient Israelites that's just broadly levantine. It's like someone saying that they are 20%broadly Asian and then because, not even the majority, of their ancestors lived somewhere in Asia 2 THOUSAND YEARS AGO they are an indigenous population and have the right to live in japan even though there is already a population of actual natives living there. However I don't believe that Jews should leave the region because some Jews have an actual claim to the land since they and their parents and grandparents maybe even might have been born there but not because they have some innate right from being an indigenous people (which they aren't). I am however against any Jew no matter where on earth they live being able to gain Israeli nationality tommorow even if they've never stepped foot in the country.

But I also think that the Arabic people have been mobile for thousands of years and though they don't lay claim to Judea they were certainly in the area for millennias. In terms of the Jewish right of return I've always felt that Jewish people are thoroughly mixed with other races and I'm not so sure that they can even claim to be Jews as much as their ancestors. I don't like that genetics argument. It is irrelevant shat your genetics are. If a child from Uganda is raised in Germany and learns no other culture and language than the German language, that kid is fully German no matter what his/her parents were. Genetics are interesting if you want to know where your origins are, although those test are not precise but it doesn't necessarily say something about your ethnicity if you are raised completely in another way than your ancestors were. If you would test Egyptian arabs you might find more DNA similar to that of the ancient Egyptians but other than that they have no relationship because their language and culture defines them as arabs. Same thing with the Palestinians if someone might find 99.99% of phoenician DNA that wouldn't mean anything to me, they are Arabs and any ancestor theory might be interesting but at the end it doesn't matter.
Due to the fact that Palestine is no nation because it did not exist as any form of identity until 48 and because they are Arabs I would like any of those anti-‌Israel people to look at the map. All the way from Morocco to Iraq all that territory was conquered by arabs and now there exist Arab states, but if the Jews want to have a little piece of land after the British mandate, that's to much. I am against a lot of the things Israel has done and I am against the expulsion of many of the arabs that lived there but those arabs had and have the chance to live as Israeli citizens not to forget that the Arab states declared war just after Israel was founded.
