Man, I missed Australia. When I was leaving Australia for Thailand, I looked out of the window and say goodbye. I studied in Australia for 3-years and now I’m going back home. I missed my friends from Australia. Hope to come back to Australia soon :)
I've always wanted to fly on a Thai 747, or a 747 in general out of Auckland. One day hopefully I'll get to fly one before they get phased out, luckily Korean air flys their 747-8i here, so maybe I might get to land a seat on one to Bangkok one day! Thanks for the video
Great video looks like you had a nice time on the flight. I went on a Thai 747 last year from Bangkok to Munch and was a lovely flight-Thai really look after you so well. The plane was super clean and the cabin crew so nice and I learnt a little bit about Thai culture before I went so I knew how to be respectful when I thanked them for a wonderful safe trip. And as always the Boeing 747 is a majestic aeroplane. Long live the Queen of the skies.
Hi Iam flying Thai for first time in June to Phuket from Sydney on this flight. I hope i wont be disappointing. I have never flown in a 747 before and i am sitting in 63a.
Lovely movie of the journey, really enjoyed it, thanks - good shots, good edits, good captions, well balanced and evenly paced over the 20 minutes; good job!
The food and the service is always of a very high standard. The cabin crew are very service oriented and the early arrival into Bangkok means you skip the usual queues at immigration.
S787iFly Sadly we can't because one of our group wants to get back to Sydney asap -- very disappointed : (. We'll get there next time and I'm putting your recommendation on the list!
Excellent video! I have only taken Thai Airways for local trips (BKK to Phitsanoluk and Chiang Mai) but from Los Angeles to BKK via Cathay Pacific (CX). I think I might try the long haul LAX to BKK via TG ... Thanks for sharing this video! Great work!
Hi. I flew out to Bangkok with Thai ordered a certain type of meal but wasn't loaded. The crew told me at mealtime there wasn't a second choice do didn't eat for 11 flight. Then on my way home I confirmed my flight directly with Thai but when I got to check in I was told my seat had been given away as I hadn't confirmed my return. I showed them the confirmation from the airline but still no seat. Wouldn't refund or help so I had a 26 hour wait for a seat home. Flew Singapore airlines via changi. Took longer but far better service than Thai.
james green That's really disappointing. I've never had a problem with Thai and have always had great service from them. I'll be loading my new Thai First Class video in the next 48 hrs.
😂 I remember my first landing in Sydney on a 738 from Qantas coming from Alice Springs. I looked outside the window just 200 meters above the ground and what did i see ? IKEA ! 😂
Great video. I have a soft spot for Thai as my first major overseas trip was with them plus my many flights with them since. Good to see TG have now retro fitted most of their older aircraft with IFE.
Great video thanks so much for uploading! I'm flying on this exact flight with my family next month for a holiday and by the look of this video it seems Thai Airways is a very nice airline even in economy! Yet again thanks so much for this video it helps a lot :)
when the plane was taking off just a few feet off the ground it seemed to come back down and hit a wheel on the tarmac you can hear it at about 6.05 on the clip the plane seems to swerve to the right before climbing up again
I enjoyed your video. I used to fly this route from Sydney to London on Qantas. I might give Thai a go next time... good looking aircraft and meals. Thank you!
+Billy Thompson Thanks for your comment Billy. Both QF and TG are good for long haul flights but I think the food is a little better on Thai. Plus I like stopping off at BKK.
Sorry Liam. Not doing any overseas flights from Melbourne in the near future but make sure you subscribe as I'll be posting a number of new videos in the coming weeks.
Prapapong Saengthong Yes, Thai is pretty good, maybe not the best in the world but a very nice service. I'll be trying their First Class service next month so stay tuned for the new videos.
I will be on this very flight next month flying to Thailand for the very 1st time I will be Arriving in Bangkok 1st from Sydney but I have also booked and paid for a transfer flight to Phuket that very day roughly about 2hrs after I arrive to Bangkok, my flight to Phuket is also with Thai Air but was booked on a later date for the same day. Is there any suggestions or advice you can give on what to expect I'm a bit worried I may miss my connecting flight. Is the international and domestic airports the same building? I made sure to book it at the same and also using the same airline Thanks in advance
I'm boarding this flight next month, Sydney to Bangkok TG476 it says it's a Boeing 747 so I hope it is this exact one since this flight looks very good with the AVOD personal entertainment systems and screens. I heard some of their older 747's don't have this and are still using the old design with no personal screens, but apparently they've all been refitted by now anyway with no more old ones in the fleet. Can anyone confirm this? Their website still says the personal entertainment systems are only available on SOME 747 flights, but other people say ALL?
very cool video mate brings back many memories and looking forward to going on the same flight again mid october and i, like you, love and respect thai people and culture to the point that i married one . thanks again for the clip
Proven 747 oceanic flying, with safety of four engines, not two; the way it should be. For what it's worth: Boeing says 777s use 20% less fuel than 747-400s. In terms of overall plane ticket cost, that means a surcharge of about 6.67% for complete piece of mind. Isn't safety worth that? (You can permanently park your A380s and twin engine overwater aircraft for all I care.) Nice, steady camera filming. Enjoyed your production.
GRL Glad you like the video. I happy fly on 777's any day. BTW I will be flying on the last Air NZ 747 out of Sydney next month. So subscribe to be notified when I load it.
Sorry, I've always been excited at the thought of flying so I cant provide any useful advice. I just love looking out the windows at the beauty of the world passing by.
I have not flown Thai airways before but I've no doubt they provide good service. But I would not fly with their 747 jets mainly because the legroom is so small, you feel like you're on a sardine can. I've flown with 747 once and never again.
gotta pay big buck for flying with them though... so i havent had the chance to check out turkish airlines. and paying double the price comprared to emirates to go from MUC to SYD just for food... i dunno ;)
Thanks for the update. It's been sad to see all the old Thai jets lined up at BKK since COVID. But the airline needed a sharp shock to turn its management around. I hope they have learnt their lesson from the past decade.
747 i think feel s more safe 4 engine's batter than 2 380 to big scary had a bad dream of a plane that big crashing 30 years a go i was in it won't fly 380 would like to try it but to scared frome that dream
very nice flight report huge like. i will maybe fly with their 744 next august from munich to bangkok. last week i just flew with the 744 of eva air from manila to taipei. i was in upper deck economy. u can watch the video on my channel! ☺
thats really nice food compared to american carries in economy but you get what you pay for and when i am hungry i will eat anything plus flying is fun no matter what
Reviewing economy flights are actually very useful considering it's the most common way to travel. It's helpful to know whether or not booking with certain criteria is worth prices etc
I can't believe you didn't point out the vast amount of leg room in Thai Airways (at least if the information on seatguru.com is to be believed). I was hoping to see just how good it was.
I love Thai airways

Yes, Thai is pretty good for economy travel. ✈️👍
Beautiful take off....and beautiful landing at Suvarnabhumi
I've always wanted to fly on a Thai 747, or a 747 in general out of Auckland. One day hopefully I'll get to fly one before they get phased out, luckily Korean air flys their 747-8i here, so maybe I might get to land a seat on one to Bangkok one day! Thanks for the video

Thanks Chris. I hope you have a look at my other videos. I try to cover a few different airlines and routes around the world. Stephen
Great video. I'll be on that flight in August this year 2014.
Thanks Van. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thai are always very friendly and seem to have decent food for economy.
The food and the service is always of a very high standard. The cabin crew are very service oriented and the early arrival into Bangkok means you skip the usual queues at immigration.
Thanks for posting this -- very useful as we'll be on this flight soon and I was worried that a 747 wouldn't have any in-seat video screen...
They have great service to BKK. Have a great trip.
+weez246 Are you staying in Bangkok? If so make sure you visit the Reclining Buddha. Simply breathtaking. th-cam.com/video/ejsqimThLP4/w-d-xo.html

I remember my first landing in Sydney on a 738 from Qantas coming from Alice Springs. I looked outside the window just 200 meters above the ground and what did i see ? IKEA ! 😂
great ... watched the entire video. Seemed you enjoyed both of the meals!!!
NicBunnymen Always!! An airline meal has to be pretty bad not to eat it.
nice flight, good food, great outside view! (It would be great if the video in HD).
mrwell2341 The file was too big for HD.
Excellent video.
Would love to fly with this airline someday
Great video. I have a soft spot for Thai as my first major overseas trip was with them plus my many flights with them since. Good to see TG have now retro fitted most of their older aircraft with IFE.

Sorry Liam. Not doing any overseas flights from Melbourne in the near future but make sure you subscribe as I'll be posting a number of new videos in the coming weeks.
+iFlyTheWorld hey again, will you be doing any overseas flights from Auckland, NZ with Thai Airways to Bangkok. If not all good. Thanks Nice video

Best Airline ever!

Sorry, I've always been excited at the thought of flying so I cant provide any useful advice. I just love looking out the windows at the beauty of the world passing by.
