@MrMike3865 I'm approaching it as 3/4. So it's a one bar phrase of 3/4. Count the "and" beats between, 1-and-2-and-3-and. So it's 1/8s on the ride, with the bass playing on 1 and the "and" of 2 and 3, with the snare hitting the "uh" of 2 (two-2-and-UH) and on the 3rd beat. OPTION: hi-hat stepping on the "and" beat to create a rolling flow. Hope that helps, let me know if I can be of further help. Thanks for checking out the video.
Do you believe that i watched this video 5 times in a row? Loved it so much. I'm not a believer of any religion but i have such a HUGE RESPECT for this people that sing from their hearts out with such faith. I have to say that i was touched...
Thank you and these are the kind of comments I cherish- that my worship & praise cover videos serve God’s church. God bless the work of your hands and feet.
@ociomax I'm pleased to hear that this song ministered to you. Yes, it's a good rendition. I've made it a habit to cover & post songs that I play the previous Sunday in worship services. Thank you so much for checking this out.
@dcrimmen thanks Dave, yes you picked up on it. I'm thinking/meditating on the lyrics that describe God's attributes-in this case faithfulness, mercy, His sovereignty over His creation, etc. - and how I've experienced these traits in my walk with Him. I've noticed that happens quite a bit in the praise/worship tunes I've covered, which makes sense as that is what those songs are for. Thanks as always for checking out my stuff. God bless you bro'.
In all of the videos I've seen you in Sal, you look like you're having the most fun in this one. You're conected to more than the groove! Does my heart good and makes me smile right along with you Sal. Keep shinnin' the light K? Love Ya Dave
glad to see you to make covers of christian songs again :-). this is a powerfull and very touching hymn and I'm going to propose it for our church services.
@caseiroportugal I play over the original drum track, just as you stated. There are a few songs that I covered that were drumless: Purple Haze, Crosstown Traffic (also vocal - less, so I sang) and Spain (which was just a pianist & guitarist).
Found this... Was asked to cover this song this weekend. But as a drummer.... I'm a great trumpet player. I hope to be able to cover this as skillfully as you someday.
+Gary Hopson Just stick to the essential groove and time and you'll do fine. As you know as a trumpet player the other musicians will be concerned about only that and not whether you played some clever groove. God bless your drumming and Merry Christmas.
Thanks Mr Sal,i just confuse to play this song cause is in 3/4 ,i am new player in drum,so i want to make little bit groove cause we will use this song at first song at sunday service (not youth service),i want to keep up with my team because they are really really good and experienced player ,once again,thanks ,GB :)
+Jacob Gede Well Jacob, I hope this cover video helped you. I tried to make the 3/4 rhythm groove. May God bless your drumming. And thanks for checking out this cover.

@whaaselfesteem Hey Rick, perhaps I should grimace more : D. thanks so much for checking it out and commenting, much appreciated.
@Steeleydankid Thanks my friend. Appreciate you watching/listening/commenting.

We're playing this on Sunday and I was looking for a version with drums. Once again you came to the rescue. Thanks brother!

@jstyleent thanks so much.
@caseiroportugal Wow, thank you for sharing that, it does me good to hear that this cover ministered to your heart. God be with you!
nice job sal, very funky..3/4 and 6/8 can be fun when u finally figure it out, most drummers shy away from it unfortunately...good cover
Because I use copyrighted material, such as this song. The only thing that is not is my own tutorials which are few.

@NYMinute718 Thanks

Amazing! Do you have a simplified drum tab for this?

Great cover. Very solid and served the song well. And loved that you worshiped along as well.
Not a fan of electric drums though. Haha.
Chris C
Thank you.
Edrums are in the same category as electric guitars, electric bass, and electric keyboards.
What can i do ? I wanna be saving to mu phone but it cant
Our worship does this song...it's a tough one for me to find the right beat, are you doing a 6/8 or a 3/4?
Just a question if you don't mind. Do you play on top of the original track with your drums a bit louder or you have this drumless song?

No metronome, just the song track. It would be almost impossible to set a metronome to a recording.
