Several nice homes, and I imagine some folks might find these options in their price range. Median rent in the US is $1800/month. So that $900/month apartment is well below what your going to pay for rent in the United States. That apartment in any half decent city in the US would be at least 50% more to rent.
Bro I'm so glad for you that you bounced back so quickly! Mexican girls are the best! They're old school homemakers who take care of their man. I'm a born Yucateco. I literally married the girl next door to my grandmother's house, where we stayed. Merida June 1973. Have you sent her a "serenata?" If not, contract a trio and have them come in the evening to her / your window, usually midnight. If you're intoxicated enough, they may let you sing lol. In all seriousness, she'll worship the ground you walk upon! Lol
Wow lucky for you because our landscaper here in Ajijic is married with his wifes baby from another man he pays for plus he has two girlfriends on the side. He told my son that having many girls on the side was the Mexican way. I have to say we experienced the same with a mexican friend who had three children with three different boyfriends. She said she saw no purpose to marriage. Currently one of our very good young mexican friends was raised by his grandparents as his father left him and stayed in the US for the past twenty years. We have not yet met a married Mexican couple who are still with their first wife. Many of the young mexican woman are now into the more modern role of womanhood and not the old school barefoot and pregnant role models of the older generation, this is what our young mexican friend has been teaching us about modern Mexican relationships. If they are all wrong I’m sure it would be a big surprise to them.
Are there any AFFORDABLE options in Queretaro? Those house prices are kinda high. It would be nice if you did a similar video but with more affordable homes. We live in a gated community in Merida and have a 3 bed 2 bath, new bungalow with a backyard and pool that we rent for 17000MXN a month all inclusive.
I'm hoping you will include some less expensive places in your future videos. I alway enjoyed seeing the range of what is available. Good neighborhoods, but with a range of prices. And because I'm older and not planning a family, some 2 bedroom 2 bath places. Otherwise.. I still enjoy the videos. Your new girlfriend is a cutie, plus she seems like such a sweet person.
There are other options, not so far away, 12 to 15 kilometers from downtown. There are closed clusters with amenities (some with pools and gyms). Much more affordable than the areas that Jordan is recommending here. The areas are called : El Refugio, Zákia, Zizana. If you want something more expensive but with nice views then look for houses in Zibatá. These areas growing so fast, with plazas and shopping centers opening every month. No need to drive downtown with the traffic. Another thing that is important: areas close to downtown flood easily when big storms hit ( it is a desert zone, but when it rains hard, the sewer systems cannot take that amount of water). I have been living in Querétaro for almost 4 years in the area of Zákia, lots of lakes, parks, amenities, shops, etc. It is really nice. Downtown is getting more complicated as more people come and live here.
@@sksman71 depending on what neighborhood you live. But if burglars see the oportunity to break in they sure won't hesitate. Is very weird a house in Mexico that doesn't have bars in the windows or the doors, plus a lot of people put them as decorations too.
Nice video Jordan. Always good idea to visit at different times of the day and night. With your dog. Where I’m staying, across the street are two dogs bark incessantly every time another dog walks by. Also my neighbours smoke which means I have to close my windows each time or put the portable fan directed outside! Also different times of year as you found out, weather in every city changes
Hi Jordan! I’ve appreciated your videos about house hunting in Queretaro very much! Well, actually others as well. But I was wondering if you could please make a video of homes in less expensive neighborhoods, yet still safe to live in? I really like the “coto” style housing where there are many homes in a gated community, yet very affordable like in the 150k dollars. Would you please include both rentals and for sale homes? Thank you very much! And yes May (mi tocaya) is very sweet! So happy for you both!😊
That first one is a cool community 😎. It seems to me that another famous TH-camr, Isabella, who actually lives in Korea with her Korean boyfriend, has a family who lives there, and she featured the same restaurant. The residential streets are identical to Queretaro's. You made good choices, I think! 💗💗💗
Hi Jordan. Can you do a video explaining why gas is cheaper in Mexico than it is in the US? People in San Diego are driving across the border to fill their tanks because gas is about $2 cheaper than it is in Cali.
Purely corporate profiteering. Gas is no more expensive to produce now. The energy companies see the writing on the wall and are doing everything the can to squeeze profits before the world switches to cleaner power. It has nothing to do with Biden or politics, and everything to do with soulless coporate executives. Criminal lie machines like Fox News amplify BS and idiots believe it.
You're delivering such quality videos. More and more professional, while maintaining your "boy-next-door" charm. Great improvement in the channel. Say "Hi!" to May and give Laska a hug from Miami.
How are they about renting with dogs? Looking at places due to the unrest in the United States. Looking at Mexico. Is this Queretaro a safe place for families?
I'm really currious what the seismic resilience of these houses is. Queretaro is located to the North of Ciudad de Mexico, so it is definitely a seismically activy zone. Did you ever encounter an advert mentioning about counter-seismic technologies or materials used in the construction process?
If my wife and I move to Mexico it will definitely be with the idea of simplifying. 3 or 4 bedrooms is not what we would be looking to buy or rent. We would be looking for 2 bdrm & 2bath type places. Nice to see some of the options though.
Really enjoyed this format of a tour of the area then the listings. I have not seen that done before. Prices are about what they are in my area of Guatemala..the priciest real estate market outside the capital. Price per sg ft/sq mt is the same. I wonder what real estate prices are ...here it is $97 a year!
I could tell that you're really in love with that girl since your very first options are near to her place! but that's good! because it means that you're really more serious about that relationship, I just noticed that. Anyway that house you saw there first was a very good deal! I would say.
I moved a month ago really close to the first neighborhood you showed and literally just had lunch today for the first time in the "Karnes en su Jugo" place haha so weird. It's good! A little overpriced imo, bit good and definitely a great area to live in!
12:45 you mention random green parrots 🦜. In Chicago, I’ve seen them twice. My understanding is that they were pets who escaped and found small areas of the Chicago area where they can live. I believe they rely on human food waste during the winters and need to be close to some heat sources. There aren’t many but I’ve seen two flocks of maybe a dozen birds twice. Probably same thing there - a pets that escaped and living in specific areas where they can live.

And that YOU do not know what you’re in for. 😂😂 (edited part) Also, on your livestream, within the first four minutes or so I noticed when you teased May, (I wish I could remembered the time stamp) for a split second she gave you that Mexican female look that I know all so well. Hey , I’ve been following your Chanel for a few months now , I have a question what do you need to rent a decent place over there? Me and my husband are planning to move there but we don’t want to get there and not find something nice , thank you 😊
Jordan, why do you think that city, the first place you recommended anyway, is so clean of litter and trash compared to other cities? Is there a way to sort houses for sale by lot size, on inmuebles24? Please explain how if you found a way. So many lot sizes of houses in Mexico are so darn tiny! I can hardly find a house with a 5000 sq ft lot, let alone one with an 8000+ sqft, lot like I have now. But, I want a much bigger one than that. Thanks Jordan for any help you can give me, as I've searched quite a bit and it's very difficult to find.
I currently live in the country of Panama. Our house has a covered outdoor patio that is about the same size as the house. We pretty much live outside. We have found that we really like living this way. I haven't seen anything comparable in the houses you have featured. Is this type of living possible or doesn't this fit with the climate?
My observation having travel Nica and CRica and this part of Mexico is that central Mexico is high altitude, so the temperatures are much more mild. Sea level in Central America is much more tropical. Hot and humid, unlike central Mexico.
@@mtngrl5859 Volcan (1400m) and Cerro Punta (2000m) are very roughly in the same range of elevation as the city of Queretaro (1800m), the bigger difference is that the Panamanian highlands get a lot more rain than Queretaro (525mm annually). Loved visiting those towns to escape the heat/humidity of the lowlands, but despite the cooler temperatures, mold can be a problem in these highland areas because they have high humidity most of the year. We have to worry about clean water shortages in most Mexican highland cities, and high humidity is rarely a concern there (Jalapa, Veracruz may be the exception).
@@53toddk Those areas for me have too high of an elevation. Currently it is around Noon and we are at 73 degrees or 24 in celsius in the area that I live in. Cerro Punta is way too cold and Volcan is too cool as well. But there are many other options. In my area, there is something like 24 micro climates, so its easy to find the perfect temperature, one can always go a little lower in elevation or a little higher. There is quite a difference btw different highland areas. Water and the lack of it will be a continuing problem in Mexico due to increased population and unregulated expansion. I do use a dehumidifier in my home but the cost is minimal.
Hey Jordan. I looked at that website that you suggested for finding homes to buy and came across something interesting. Seems like in most cities I looked up houses at if you search from lowest to highest that there are a number of homes that start off very low. Some are in subdivisions that don’t look terrible but once you look at the actual size of the properties they may be around 600 sq ft or so. These houses go for what most houses here would be a 10% down payment at around 30-40k. Can you touch on those types of properties? Sometimes I just wonder if I could buy just even a small house to have in Mexico just in case the US becomes too crazy. There’s a vibe out here man.
Great idea! Sometimes while driving I'll see apartment complexes that are advertising new units starting at around $50,000 USD. There are certainly options like that.

Loving the “new” channel. You are doing great. Keep up the great work.
You marry the functions of real estate agents, lawyers and entertainers beautifully! ¡Chido Mi Jordan!
Thanks for the tour Jordan. Your girl is Super cool, Intelligent, and beautiful. Blessings
howcome they have bars on the windows?
That's the absolute normal in all Mexican houses. You work very hard to purchase all your stuff and want to protect your property from burglars
@@jessicalizarraga9160 I get the security but do Mexican people get their houses broken into alot?
@@sksman71 depending on what neighborhood you live. But if burglars see the oportunity to break in they sure won't hesitate. Is very weird a house in Mexico that doesn't have bars in the windows or the doors, plus a lot of people put them as decorations too.
@@jessicalizarraga9160 I would probably feel safe having bars on my windows too.
Is the tap water safe?
So happy for you both!😊
THANK YOU for putting CAD values too!!!!
I can't believe the amount of house you get there for the price. Amazing.
As a resident of a cobblestone street, I can tell you that they are amazing because they keep the speed of the cars down.
What a great video Jordon. It was the perfect mix.
That first one is a cool community 😎. It seems to me that another famous TH-camr, Isabella, who actually lives in Korea with her Korean boyfriend, has a family who lives there, and she featured the same restaurant. The residential streets are identical to Queretaro's. You made good choices, I think! 💗💗💗
Great video bud... keep up the great work..tell may hello bud.. y'all look great together...
Hi Jordan. Can you do a video explaining why gas is cheaper in Mexico than it is in the US? People in San Diego are driving across the border to fill their tanks because gas is about $2 cheaper than it is in Cali.
because your liberal president Biden sucks!
It’s called the Biden tax
Gas is subsidized by the government in Mexico, without it it would be way more expensive than in the US because we import most of it.
@richard martink u are aware that other parts of the world have high gas prices...and Biden isn't responsible for that right?
You're delivering such quality videos. More and more professional, while maintaining your "boy-next-door" charm. Great improvement in the channel. Say "Hi!" to May and give Laska a hug from Miami.
This was very interesting. I agree, the last house is fantastic. 🐕🌻🌿🇺🇸
Excellent video! I enjoyed seeing the area, housing and pricing. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your work supports good feelings. I’m sure some think you are arbitrary but it seems you are sincere . Muy bien
If my wife and I move to Mexico it will definitely be with the idea of simplifying. 3 or 4 bedrooms is not what we would be looking to buy or rent. We would be looking for 2 bdrm & 2bath type places. Nice to see some of the options though.
Thanks for telling us!
Great video Jordan! It’s the new House Hunters of Queretaro
Don't be shy Mayra, everyone loves seeing you. You are mi amiga.
Those real estate options are nice. Thx for sharing
I could tell that you're really in love with that girl since your very first options are near to her place! but that's good! because it means that you're really more serious about that relationship, I just noticed that. Anyway that house you saw there first was a very good deal! I would say.
I use to live in that place when I was a kid. Brings back good childhood memories. 😁 Hacienda Lira was my street..
Wow! The real estate is amazing. How large is Queretaro? And it is close to a large city with malls and great amenities?
I moved a month ago really close to the first neighborhood you showed and literally just had lunch today for the first time in the "Karnes en su Jugo" place haha so weird. It's good! A little overpriced imo, bit good and definitely a great area to live in!
Agree, overpriced but tasty
Can’t wait for this!!! Thinking of moving to Santiago de Querétaro!!
They're probably Monk Parrots ( blue wing feathers ) which are native to where I live in Brazil.
glad to see you back at it will see you soon !
Is Galeras de Colon going to merge with the city?
I don't know what Galeras de Colon is, sorry
@@TangerineTravels I guess it is a small town that is becoming important due to an airport being built or expanded. I was invited there to invest by a friend but covid hit and I lost contact with him. Then I met another person that is from there too and told me almost the same thing.
Shout out from South Phoenix.!!
Hi Jordan, in one of your other videos, you mentioned that youd like to live in Queretaro, but in the winter, stay in one of those southern towns buy the Ocean. "cool!" but what does Maya think of that? Better let her know what your plans are,or it could come back and bight you! I recall you said she was born there, raised there, and wants to stay there!
Hermosa pareja me emociona que tengas una novia mexicana ❤️❤️❤️ Felicidades!!!
Muchas gracias, Linda!
I'm coming next month to check out zibata and zakia. Can you cover something on those area's?
Are you in Guadalajara or Querétaro? When you were showing la panadería you showed la Catedral de Guadalajara then switched back to Querétaro???
Queretaro. I mentioned Guadalajara because of Karnes en su jugo
The roof top apartment you was looking at it said no pets allowed what are you going to do with Laska if you so choose to move there?
Saludos de un Arizoniano ahora viviendo en Queretaro.😎
Jordan, you’re gonna have to give May notification on your video schedule. Latina women do not like to be surprised with the camera. I married one from Jalisco and I’m still learning. My wife says May reminds her (voice and looks) of Penelope Cruz. And that YOU do not know what you’re in for. 😂😂 (edited part) Also, on your livestream, within the first four minutes or so I noticed when you teased May, (I wish I could remembered the time stamp) for a split second she gave you that Mexican female look that I know all so well. You will conform! I did. I’m 6’3” and she’s under 5 foot. 😂Only good thoughts here! Keep up the good work.
She was a little different in this video just because she wasn’t feeling well
@@TangerineTravels oh I’m sorry to hear that. She’s a trooper. Are you allergic to nuts or walnuts specifically?
@@fortheloveofpete Walnuts specifically. And I don't know the extent of my allergy but last time I had them I had a weird feeling in my throat so I just avoid them now.
Things are definitely looking up again for you Jordan. I'm glad your channel is bright and strong.
Question, are there any future plans of traveling to other parts of México...with May.....for more travel videos?
I live right on the other side of Los Arcos from Carretas in Col Pathé. It’s a great location. No cobblestone :) PS: saw lots of REAL lemons at HEB El Refugio this morning!
Awesome and informative video Jordan....looks like a great place to live and/or retire. I was curious what property taxes are like there.
Property taxes are quite low. For a $300,000 usd home you’re looking at about 300 bucks a year
How far is it from Tijuana Mexico and ciudad Juarez.
It's closer to Juarez than Tijuana?
I want to go there in january
Google maps amigo
Juarez by a lot.
Home is where the heart is.
Brilliant!
Jordan, does Mexico have its own independent stock market?
If they do, would you say the US and Mexican stock market correlate much integards to pumps and corrections ?
Yes there's a stock exchange in Mexico but I don't know about the correlations.
Any specific Mexican ETF and/or index funds that may peak your interest at all?

I'm kinda ashamed by my zero knowledge on this topic because I am an American born 100% pure Mexican blood and have no knowledge on this topic in Mexico. Lol
In my defense I am a first generation that comes from a very low income family so I was never really given any financial education growing up sadly because my family comes from beyond humble being to the point where my parents werent provided with not even an elementary (K-5th grade) education.
Now I am 28 and have managed to start teaching my self and investing for a couple years now so I would like to diversify my portfolio even further now that I have a better understanding on how money works.
That is why I am so eager to know and being the Jordan is living in the economy system every day I thought I'd take a leap and ask because I am sure Jordan wouldn't mind me asking and I mean come on who doesnt love passive income.🤣
Cheers friends!
dont take this the wrong way, for a "foreigner youre doing great with your spanish, but you cant seem to lose that english "accent" BUT i noticed when you were ordering your food you were right on point with your pronunciations and almost no english accent. Excellent video as always.

Jordan. What was the website that you mentioned using to find rentals
inmuebles24
Hey , I’ve been following your Chanel for a few months now , I have a question what do you need to rent a decent place over there? Me and my husband are planning to move there but we don’t want to get there and not find something nice , thank you 😊
There are many nice places but this video might help you out: th-cam.com/video/0uWJxAbD2Vo/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much 😊
The apartment rents what does that include?
It varies but it will probably include the monthly maintenance fee (HOA fee) and nothing more.
What an awesome video! Educational, but entertaining at the same time. Just love how sweet your girlfriend seems. So happy for you.
Jordan, you and May need to do more food reviews 😂
Little by little May will feel more comfortable on camera.
It’s not that she was uncomfortable because of the camera in this video, she just wasn’t feeling well
You actually sound happy and confident there, congrats !
What do you think, about Zibata, Zakia in the zone of the Márquez?
I like Zibata but I don't like how far away it is from the city. As for Zakia, I'm not familiar with that one
My company has sites in both León and Querétaro. What are your thoughts on León?
how serious is the crime situation in Queretaro? yesterday there was a big story about people getting robbed in one of the main roads.
My wife's mother's sister lives in the first colony you showed. The houses there are very nice but there is no controlled access.
JORDAN! I just noticed when you speak English you are getting a Mexican accent. L O L
Hahaha I know!! It's just me mixing up the languages in my head and I'm consciously aware of it when it's happening. I don't like it LOL

It gets COLD in Queretaro in the winter
@@wademt It depends at one's elevation. Panama has many areas with high elevations, so weather can be temperate.
I started watching right when you left the US. You appear more relaxed now since you got a fresh start outside of you previous relationship/partnership. I'm sure Maddie is a nice gal but it always seemed like she would cut you off and control the videos. I hope to see some travels soon as the channel does have "travels" in the name! Best wishes!
Are there 1000 sq ft rentals/homes in these three neighborhoods? As a single retiree I am totally uninterested in homes larger than 1500 sq ft.
Yes!
