    nice to see a review that isn't just a read through of the website specs - thanks wooly, helped me to decide on a 6'6"

      6’6” FMN is one of my favourite boards ever!

      @@WoolyTV Hey Wooly havent quite pulled the trigger - just want to clarify, are you talking about the fmn2 step up or the fmn2 round tail in this review? Thanks!

      @@blitzthesuperdoggsp2012 hi mate. It’s just the standard one not the step up. 🤙

    Awesome review Wooly. Currently ride a 6'2 (34L) JS Monstabox and a 6'1 JS Schooner (32L) and trying to get my hands on a step up for a Ments trip and was thinking a 6'6 FMN (36L) but they seem elusive. I found a 6'8 (38L) - do you think I will notice the difference between a 6'6' and 6'8? Thanks legend!

      Hi mate, believe it or not but I have both the 6'6" and 6'8" :) I tend to ride the 6'6" way more often and love it. The 6'8" really needs to be in double overhead surf to get started whereas the ^'6" I can ride in a much wider range. Where are you located?

    Sik vid Wooly.
    Really like your surfing mate.
    Good to see a big bloke throughing buckets while on rail.
    Are all your step up round tails Wooly ?

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate. Yes all my step ups are round tails. I have had a couple of smaller swallow tails in the past but I always end up back on round tails. At the moment all my boards above 6’3” are round tails. Most are JS FMN and I have a couple of JS Monsta round tails too

    Wooly you legend!!
    Mate, I currently ride my Air 17x @ 26.4L and around 5’9/ 5’10. Im off to samoa and want something to handle solid 4-6ft possible 8ft. Also want something for home aswell when conditions suit. What volume and length should i be chasing? I see a couple of stock Dims @ 5’11 and 6’0 ranging from 26.5, 27.8 and 28.8L.

      Hi mate
      Sorry, I must have missed you question here. I like this combo
      Your step down is 5'9"/5'10" 26.4L
      So I would do
      Performance board ie Air 17P or Monsta 5'11"/6'0" around the same as you Air 17X in Volume, 26 - 27L
      Then the next one would jump up 6'2"/6'3" and about 2-3L more ie FMN2
      Hope we can all stating travelling again and start using all our bigger boards!
      Cheers

    Hi Wooly, not sure whether you will get this but here goes! I am off to the Telo's in May and after a mini step up. Do you still rate this board?

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi mate.
      Yes I sure do. I still have 3 of them in my personal quiver - still the best step up in the market IMHO.
      You could also look at a Pyzel Ghost or if you want a bit more volume a JS Raging Bull.

      @@WoolyTV straight onto it, thanks for that. Yes i have been looking at those and like the look of the Raging Bull and the fact i will not have to go too long.

      Hi mate. I haven’t but I know a lot of my mates use it in sucky waves as a quad with very positive feedback.

    Hey Wooly
    Sic review mate again how about fins for these boards?
    See u use futures but what would u run in fcs in these?
    Thanks mate

      Cheers Trevor, my acting in front of the camera isn't getting any better but I hope these will help people out. I would probably run Performers in a medium if it was me. As the step ups have the pulled in tail there hold in really well so you don't want to have large fins. I would run either mediums in a PC or carbon. Hope that helps.
      Wooly

      One last question mate what’s your normal shortboard length? 6’2?

    • @WoolyTV
      @WoolyTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Trevor Hocking Hi mate. I usually ride a 6’1” Monsta box or a 6’2” Air 17 x
      My performance board is a Air 17 performer. Then onto the FMN’s

      Wooly TV - Surf reviews and tips , Gidday Wooly, sick review. Heading to Samoa in a few months and looking for a step up, my normal shortboard is a 6”1 Monstabox 33.6L. Works good for me. So I step up to a 6”6 36.3L? Marginally intermediate ability :/ Or would you jump up to the 6”8. I’m 6”2 and weigh 85kg. Ideally both I know but just want to get one and see how it goes.

      @@WoolyTV I currently have the lost baby buggy carbon wrap which is amazing at 0.2-0.8 meter gutlles to good conditions, and I was thinking of getting a pu board for when the waves start pumping, or when the waves become steep.
      if you would have to chose a board for high preformence surfing but for waves 0.5-1.5 meters which one would you chose?
