Another great one! I'm planning on picking up a GD (pinnacle of Subaru chassis) in the next month(s) so I can throw on a skid plate and start rallyx events next Spring. This GD will eventually be built into a stage car, but that may take a couple years. One question I had was: what can/can't I modify if I plan to run NA4WD? Can I put a new EJ253 with cams into an 07 Impreza and still be na4wd? What about an STI with the turbo removed and the engine tuned? How far can you push the ARA rulebook? Thanks again guys!
Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. Turbo engines don't work well NA because their compression is too low. If you can find details on what the Rally America Open Light guys were doing (2.5l NA class for rally cars), they found that the ticket was to put a 2-liter non-AVCS wiring harness and ECU into an NA Impreza. You can use the Accessport, etc. to tune the NA engine, and then by bumping compression and running E85, they were getting close to the power the the turbo EJ20 engines would make with restrictors. A standalone may now be a better path, but I'd say that the high compression NA build would still be the way. Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!
My car is so far gone with the modifications, I just installed whelen hide away strobe lights in the rear brake lights, for when I break down while street tuning it lololol
Awesome video!
Thanks for watching. Stay Tuned!
Love your show!
You gotta Tanner ftom the Smeedia channel in there again. He's building a 22b out of his RS and it's going to be sick.
Thanks for watching. Yep, we have sent Tanner a few goodies for his 22b build. It is a very cool project for sure.
Stay Tuned!
What a great title haha
Thanks for watching. Stay Tuned!
