Yes Ben, I have a walking boot, mine was gray color and I spray painted it brown to match my work boots I wear everyday. I pray your foot heals fast. I love your rock Ben, it's very cool looking. And great job helping mom all the time. Your a great helper!

Jess, my grandma taught me that if you snap the stem off, you can apply either Vaseline, or if you don't want to use such a thing, you can use candle wax pooled over the depression of where the stem was, and it slows down the rotting by a great deal. Glad to hear that your sweet Ben doesn't have a broken bone, and he's always such a great helper in the garden! Hope you share your pumpkin pie recipe with us! ☺
Actually Ben, my daughter broke her foot a few months ago and was in a walking boot too! Her foot is all healed up now because she wore her boot just as the doctor told her too. Praying for your foot to heal well Ben. Great job on your rock video too! That was a very cool rock! 😊🙏👍

Awesome boot!! Giraffes are my favorite exotic animal. Great choice Ben! Buckle fractures are when the bone gets compressed with sudden impact enough to make it bulge out of place but not fully break (it should heal faster than a break or chip if he keeps wearing that boot as prescribed). The growth plate is where new bone is growing. That boot is going to be very important in his recovery and will help it to heal without needing any other intervention, but I will still be praying for him. God bless you all! (RN in AZ :)

Lots of great field guides out there on mushroom ID and foraging!
Just watch out for any that are AI generated as this has recently been an issue with foraging books on Amazon in particular. Alexis aka @blackforager is also an excellent source for mushroom info!
Let your sweet son know I’ve been in a walking boot since July! I’m a hard core gardener and it’s been rough but I know I have only two more weeks. It really helped protect me from hurting myself again. God bless you and your beautiful Ohana. 🌺

It's always a treat to see Ben in a video! And I don't have to wear my walking boot now, but I did for a couple months when I took a wrong step down some cement stairs, and messed up my ankle good. And Ben, my son had to wear one two different times when he sprained his ankle playing hockey. And my Labrador had to have a cast when she messed up the growth plate in her leg, so take good care of your growth plates! Thanks for sharing your lives with us. It's my respite.

Ben, you’re such a trooper and great help to your mom in the garden. Your rock is lovely. I had a boot last summer, and was much more a baby about it as I was 66 and took a long time to heal.

Ben is so cute! My son fractured both of his ankles from jumping his dirt bike. So he had to wear a boot on BOTH ankles at the same time and walk with crutches for eight weeks. He’s got them off and is healed now, but it was a pretty painful experience. (For all of us!) 😂😩 Praying for a speedy recovery for you!

Had to wear a walking boot after I had surgery on my right foot, so let Ben know that we share the experience! Wishing a speedy recovery!
Hi Ben, I had a walking boot for about 8 weeks 5 years ago. I took a bucket list trip to Italy, and while walking down some outside stairs in a small Tuscan town I rolled my foot and broke the bone just below my little toe. I didn't know I broke until I came back home from the trip. I know how much it hurts, so you have been a very brave boy.
Wow rambling rose, as soon as I tried to stand up I couldn't put any weight on my foot. Italy not such a great place to have to navigate with a broken foot. How long did it take to recover and did you ever not be able to walk on it? That's amazing!
@@gointothedogs2 It happened on day 4 on a 9 day trip that included a one day pitstop in London on our way back. I was with my daughter and her husband and this was my dream vacation of a lifetime. We went to a pharmacy in Florence and found some sports wrapping tape and some ibuprofen. I put my foot up and iced at night and then wrapped it during the day. We had to cut out a few tours that involved walking, but we didn't let it stop us. I just did the best I could. When I got home I went to urgent care and they told me to go to ER to have it checked so I did, and I was told it was a hairline fracture and put me in the boot. It took about 8 weeks to heal, but I would do it all over again if I could go back to Italy. What a beautiful place it is. I have no regrets.

Mushrooms are beautiful. Lots of hard work and time went into the growing of them. It’s just wonderful to have these fresh edible’s right on your farm. 👏 to Will. You are a jewel to Jessica.

Please tell Ben my husband has a boot. He broke 3 toes and his ankle dirt bike riding. And he's 70 yo! This is the worse crash he's ever had. and still planning for a race in November. So, Ben, hang in there. It will be off in no time. You go boy!
Thee are basically 2 types of mushrooms - mychorizal (which grow from the ground) and saprotrophic (grow on wood). Oyster mushrooms are saprotrophic. Love the mushroom farm!

No one is wearing the boots right now but BOTH of my boys wore a boot like yours, Ben! One climbed a tree the fell and got stuck upside down and hurt his ankle, the other was playing basketball and jumped and landed funny and got what they call a “dancer’s fracture.” You look like you are healing up quick buddy! At least you won’t miss any swimming since it’s getting colder! 😊

Ben, I don't have a boot TODAY but I did once when I rolled my ankle, stepping on the dog's ball. It was very painful. I hope you get back to normal very soon.

Thankful with you that the growth plate of the bone in Ben's foot is safe. Basically the bone stops growing at the end where the growth plate dies off and is resorbed. That is enough reason right there for feasting with Ben on a huge pumpkin pie!

I don't have a boot, but I strained my leg 10 years ago and the brave (which looks A LOT like that boot but doesn't have the foot part) was so expensive that I kept it in case I injured my knee that badly ever again.

Sweet Ben, I've spent many months in walking boots after foot surgeries and when I broke my foot last summer. You wear it better than I ever did. Speedy healing!

Oh Ben, my walking boots are suppose to b white but more spattered with dirt and dry plant matter. My adult daughter had an addiction to rock collection that we had to give her an area to " plant " her precious rocks! She finally admitted that it was the texture of the rocks that captured her attention cuz...( they were the ugliest rocks I've ever laid my eyes on!) God love her. I have 8 chickens now in my backyard. (new to chicken) they have gotten into my tomatoes and ate them off the vine. I also have Rhubarb they have not touch at all. just from the short time I have had chickens I see they knowns what to eat and what not to eat. (No walking boot)

Oh. We have always fed chickens spent Tomato plants too. No issue with them.but I did have goats get sick from it.
Yep, I've had a boot on for six weeks this summer Ben. Kinda made gardening a lil more challenging, but I still did it! Got a tear in my Achilles tendon tramping out in the woods and creek on our property, 😂. I'm much better now and I pray your foot will heal up good as new quickly!
