In 2000 we were full timing in a class c and went in and out of Canada many times. One time we were searched and the officer opened an upper cabinet and a whole box of feminine products fell out on his head. And that was the end of that search! My 12-year-old and I traveled alone for a lot of the time while my husband was off on jobs and at the very first Canadian Campground we stayed in the ranger told us they had a shower but you had to take a loonie. I looked at him and said my husband is not with me. Talk about one embarrassed 12-year-old! We recently traveled to Nova Scotia Newfoundland and Labrador back down into Quebec. We really do love Canada .
Canada is so beautiful. I went to Montreal and Quebec City. Quebec City is probably one of the prettiest cities I've ever been to. My Discover card was hit and miss in Canada.
From just East of Toronto in Peterborough. Made the trip a couple years ago to pancake bay was a lovely spot for a week camping trip. We went to sleeping giant the year after in Thunderbay. Also really cool spot. Also where I am in Peterborough is a big part of the great loop boat loop. We have the Peterborough Liftlocks and trent severn waterway. Just north of Peterborough you got the big chute, kirkfeild liftlocks. My uncle has a boat at the marina and have met alot of lovely Americans completing the loop. Maybe see you this summer at Del curry park with the boat parked a the marina. Lots of good concerts this year at Peterborough musicfest longest free summer long concert series. Metric, Teniel Towns, and Down with Webster so far announced.
Hey Chris, Lance here, I am the guy who was talking to you at the dump station at the campground in Owen Sound called Harrison Park campground - It was nice meeting you that day - I cant believe you have friends in Newmarket - I was born and raised there. Were your friends raised and born there? I might have gone to school with them - Newmarket was a small town years ago (only had 2 high schools) take care safe travels - Lance from Canada on my WAY to Florida
Great Loop add on. You probably know this but the GL can also be extended on the Canadian side so that you go down the St Lawerence, that will lead you through Not, Que, NB, NS and around to Maine. thanks.
@@Technomadia Im from the east coast and now live in west coast and do believe that in summer your boat could do it. but hey, im not the sea dog. have fun.
I hope the AlCan is on your bucket list. I've always thought of it as the ultimate RV trip. Rockies, Yukon, Alaska in all it's variety! We did it in 2003 and are going back in 2023!
Glad you enjoyed it up here, the provincial parks are all I use for camping. Ive done Pinery, Macgregor point, Selkirk, Bronte Creek and Point farms most recently, all were great. Best part of the online booking is they have pictures of the sites so you know what you're getting. You were also deep in crown land territory once you were about 30 mins north of Barrie (like US public land) which makes up 80% of Ontario (and Canada). You can stay there for 21 days in each spot, but generally no cell signal. You can find the Ontario crown land atlas online.
I live close to Newmarket. Had I known!!! You intraverts! I am glad we treated you well. Like 264. I came looking to see if you were giving an update on YNot/Hurricane Ian. I hope you/YNOT are well
Three times crossing into Canada, never had a problem, but coming back into the US as a citizen, crossing into ND it was a different story 🙈🙄 So happy you got to visit Canada with Kiki 😊
I think I Just saw your Travato parked. Looks like you may have taken a bike ride in Illinois! I won’t say where. Then you walked right by our Sportsmobile camper van. Have fun!
Hey there.. we are in IL currently, and did take a bike ride. And we did walk by a Sportsmobile along the lake this morning. However the grey Travato with no bikes on the rack parked in the lot isn't ours (we saw it too). We're in a blue Travato and one loop over.
@@Technomadia haha. What a coincidence. We are drinking wine at a local winery. We will be walking tonight. If we see you we’ll say hi, but don’t worry we won’t bug you!
First time listener. Thanks for sharing this information. Hubby is Canadian-American and all of his family live there. We are heading that way this summer. Leaving from Florida, stopping at friends and families along the way in various states. Want to take @ 3 weeks to get there & stay 3-5 weeks. Any other things we should be aware of? We have crossed many times but not with our travel trailer and service dog.
Ya, you betcha, Canada is awesome. The only time I've been to Canada since the border crossing insanity was put into place the crossing into Canada was uneventful but for the return I sat on my motorcycle for about 45 minutes customs could make sure I wasn't smuggling any illegals in my saddlebags. The agent was fine but wait was horrendous. Fortunately it was downhill so I could just let my bike coast down the ramp instead of having to start is every 30 seconds. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
So I have a question, I drive from USA into Canada border and when they say "Where are you from"? and I say I was born in Toronto Canada but got my citizenship in 1977 and moved to NC, do I tell them I am from North Carolina OR do I tell them i originally from Toronto but live in NC??? OR.... do I keep it simple and just say I'm from North Carolina and visiting for the day. Thanks
But not sure how that would make going to Canada more interesting? We already full timed in our bus many years, taking it across country many years. We have moved on to other styles of travel too. We love our van and boat travels too. They're all interesting to us.
Canada does require vaccination, no problem for us - we got ours the first days we were eligible for our prime and booster. And thankful we did, given how mild of a case we had.
@shaneyoung3407 Vote for your local Conservative MP at the next election and see what happens. Pierre can't mess up the country more than Justin and his fools have over the last 8 years.
Thank you for visiting Canada glad you had fun. As a home sick Canadian living abroad thanks. Come back.

Pancake Bay is a favorite for me. I've done your whole route in my Eurovan. My free beer offer in Traverse City still stands!
We actually stayed in Traverse City after returning the US... but we were both still testing positive for COVID for the whole time. So we laid low.
@@Technomadia That's a bummer, it would have been cool to meet you three. I hope you enjoyed Traverse City what of it you were able to explore.
yes, the Canadians are such nice people.............................where have I heard that before?
I live on the Trent Severn I’m keeping an eye on your travels on why not.
I have a winery and a few brewery’s to introduce you to
You were in my neck of the woods! Newmarket/Barrie area is where I call home nowadays. Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry about your “gift”.
Such a lovely area.. we really enjoyed our visit there. And got to Barrie for Kempenfest. Lots of fun!
It was to hot in the US , lol , came cooling yourselves, welcome , I am from Quebec
It definitely was great to avoid the heat!

Hi. When you were at the marina in Sanford, FL where did you get diesel fuel?
Sanford Boatworks can get it in if you call in advance.

It looks like you dont need the ARRIV-Can app anymore. We went into Canada in 2021 and the that app was required.
We just told them we're from our place of domicile .
@@Technomadia Thanks so much. By the way, your video was awesome. Thanks
What would be interesting is y'all going to Canada in the bus.
Not sure what would be more interesting about that? It's just another RV type.
Not all motorhomes started life as a cross country bus, furthermore this one is a vintage bus.
But not sure how that would make going to Canada more interesting? We already full timed in our bus many years, taking it across country many years. We have moved on to other styles of travel too. We love our van and boat travels too. They're all interesting to us.

Hmmm, did you have to get those Safe and Effective jabs to cross borders? That would be a no go for me. Thanks for the vid!
Canada does require vaccination, no problem for us - we got ours the first days we were eligible for our prime and booster. And thankful we did, given how mild of a case we had.
Sorry you were forced to use Trudeau's mandatory ArriveCAN app. He is a major pain in the behind.
We found it super convenient and organized.. no complaints about it at all.
