I remember hearing that the church teaches that marriage is for life or something. And I think it also said that some marriages sadly fail and if that happens, it seeks to be available for all involved. That's why the Queen approved Harry's marriage to Meghan although the fact that she's divorced. That's why Prince Charles was also allowed to marry Camilla in 2005. It's so messed up, really. But imagine if that rule was approved way back then, like in the 30s, Edward VIII would've married in England nevertheless and become king. But I hope it was changed at the time Princess Margaret really wanted to marry Peter Townsend.
