'If a piece of wood became as aware of the nearness of God as an archangel is, the piece of wood would be as happy as an archangel.'This is a collection of seven sermons of Meister Eckhart, the German medieval scholastic philosopher-theologian, which were translated by Claude Field and published with a Preface in approximately 1909. Oh boy, I’m seeing the veiw count rise!! Send this to fellow believers friends! Meister Eckhart is blowing up! Relevant now as ever! God Bless y’all!
Ps I love how this audiobook cover looks like a crust punk album, someone ought to make some eckhartian themed rock n roll or something
Sermon seven on salvation is the best I’ve heard on the subject. So many fire quotes. But this should go on the top ten all time quotes ever crafted:
“Thou shouldest know that real sanctification consists in this that the spirit remain as immovable and unaffected by all impact of love or hate, joy or sorrow, honour or shame, as a huge mountain is unstirred by a gentle breeze. This immovable sanctification causes man to attain the nearest likeness to God that he is capable of.”
Been listening to this book many times over the past couple weeks. Don’t plan on stopping! God bless you Meister Eckhart! And you too Eric and Claud! This work is changing my life! 💗🍻🙏
This reader is exceptional. He conveys with such grace. Thank you.
Interesting and sureal
Sermon starts at 5:38.
A year ago I decided I would eliminate the word WHY from my vocabulary. A year later I find out about this guy. Look at God
Why.?
@shootingstar3371 The answer ultimately ends with it being The Will of God. I ask "what can I do in response?" "Is there anything I can do to help? " Not why is there suffering but can I do anything to help? Meister Eckhart explains it so much better. What do I know, I'm a peasant.
@@kevinwhite1772 Eckhart doesn’t say you’re a peasant - the exact opposite.
