Hi David. I have been to Kenya 5 times and have never eaten street food or gone to the places you visited. It was great to see some of the more common areas of Nairobi. I am married to a Kenyan man that happens to be Kikuyu. The green mashed potatoes you tried are not green due to coloring but rather due to mashed peas. I think you did a great job trying foods that are new to you. I couldn't believe how you tried the hot chili pepper.... They surely do clean your sinuses.
mashed peas but more typically, pumpkin leaves, or both. Most people now use pumpkin leaves but the original vegetable that was used historically is called _kahurura_ (fig-leaf gourd aka Asian pumpkin). It's very similar to pumpkin, but not quite
Puts Kenya on the global map by choosing to show the down side of Kenya? Our poverty stories should only be told by our African TH-camrs. These foreigners see nothing good from us and thats why they focus on poor areas just to prove a point. I'm glad our good stories and beautiful places are documented by our Africans brothers and sisters.
Not gonna lie bro I was actually a bit confused because it was cool to see the other side but at the same time it's like bro I know damn well all of nairobi doesn't look like that lol. @@nancynyagah6843
@@nancynyagah6843I also agree.. in the beginning about the porridge I thought great they’re showing how many delicious foods come from Africa.. as it went on.. they seemed to underhand the markets and almost laugh at them. Africa is still very famished and impoverished and to go to an area and not want to even buy anything.. even the situation he was cold.. is just plain mean. They have much money. I hope they paid some of the people they interviewed. The exposed the poverty and as nice as they tried to be.. you can do even better by supporting the community
@@nancynyagah6843 I agree with you and as I watched and enjoyed was wondering if he has a similar documentary on the the hoodies in the west or homeless encampments across most states in the US.
My mouth is watering as I watch the guys do justice to the nyama choma.. It has to be in the exact same environment. You guys are lucky... Must visit the same joint ...Simplicity is the best
Do you see how their eyes shine.. nutrients are so important. Idc what the world says I will always love Africa and all of our peoples and cultures. Thank you for showing Nairobi . 🇩🇪🇳🇬

I blend raw peanut here in Jamaica with oats, peanut butter etc. It's not wise to drink it often, you can get bacteria in the gut for real... best to warm it in porridge form ❤ creamy delicious
Hello David, third time seeing one of your videos and I love them. Have you been to Trinidad and Tobago, St.Lucia, or St.Croix? Beautiful Islands would love to see a video and get your reaction if you haven't done so. ❤
Your video just showed up on my feed and I'm so enjoying it! The foods look so delicious I'll have to visit some day! Your respect for different cultures is admirable. Thanks so much for sharing! BTW, new subbie!
Did you notice that each food vendor would taste a piece of meat/food they serve you? It’s a way of providing quality assurance for the meat they serve 😂. Next time eating nyama choma lookout for this. This is an authentic way to document Kenyan lifestyle and street food culture. This is the raw authentic representation of Kenyan culture. Amazing documentary David!Kenya is a very beautiful country. Is the Saudi Arabia series over?Where will you travel after The Netherlands?I read in a comment that you have plans to visit Canada this year.
Yoo great to see you man. The Saudi Series is not over however we are jumping to Indonesia most likely for the next 5-6 episodes. Saudi wasn't being received too well so we will come back to it in a few weeks. After the Netherlands I've a tentative schedule but its not solidified. I most likely will be going to London and Mobay in Jamaica. However, after that will be some very hard hitting countries, Nigeria, maybe Egypt, and yes Canada is on my list actually. Multiple locations in Canada are on the list including East Coast, and up North in the colder areas as well!
