Many thanks for uploading this . It is great to see this footage again after all these years.I have wanted to see this demonstration of a Strat again for a long time but I honestly cannot remember the part where Gary was demonstrating the Les Paul on the show .
I missed THIS the ONLY time it got played on Australian television in 85,and got told about it,and was so pissed off I missed it cause,ALL,I listened to back then for a while was a Double bootleg I was given that had Reading 82? and a English live broadcast,where he's definitely playing the Salmon Strat,Awesome,I used to piss off All me band mates by forcing them to listen to that bootleg in the tour van ha ha.Im so bummed he never played Australia.
Yep totally agree, all this "my guitar hero is better than your guitar hero" is pure and utter pants! Ford versus Chevrolet, Fender versus Gibson, Bruce Lee versus the latest kid on the block etc etc..... time to grow up people. What a mind numbingly boring world this would be if we all liked, used, drove, bought, farted the same way as everyone else. You may be seated now...
Shawn Lane was a musical genius, of that there is no doubt, however I don't walk around singing Lane tracks nor would I be so musically illiterate as to compare the two. Moore gave the people far more musically than people like Lane ever did. I'm not going to slag Lane off he's a fusion legend and died sadly very young, this & that arguments are futile especially if you're a rock music fan such as I am. You honestly sound like a little girl who needs a warm fuzzy and doesn't know how to get it.
Gary Moore, possibly the best ... in the top 5 ... guitarists who ever lived.
