This is the first time since Myth the Yagoo has pushed hard for this gen, mainly for the talent that's within the four. for Holo to headhunt another corpo talent 3 months into a contract, an extremely popular artist that's already a "mama" to other talents out there like Zen and someone who has already appeared in Holo reactions via their own impressions, Holo had gens in other places bar on the European side now they seem to be bluntly moving towards the EU market, finally.
Above Below was okay, but it didn't have the same oomph as Rebellion but to be fair Rebellion was all about freedom and living your life your way. Above Below is about the pursuit of justice and not escaping, which does fit the theme of Justice. As for the girls: Elizabeth is on par with Nerissa Ravencroft. So I would like to see a collab between the two. Cecilia I immediately loved her since she is a fan of Code Geass, and it wouldn't surprise me if she does a playthrough of Nier Automata. (Yes I am well aware of the irony. And I fully encourage it.) Gigi reminds me of Taokaka from the Blazblue series design wise, as well as the "Strong but dumb" trope that fits her character. Raora is by far the funniest member of the group with her obsession with Chattini. The problem I have with her is her streams happen at an ungodly hour for me. But that's what TH-cam is for.
personally i like Above Below more than Rebellion simply for the fact that biboo's segments in Rebellion really breaks the rhythm of the song. the segments themselves aren't bad but the lack of good transition to it causes it to be jarring and feel like its part of a different song all together. like the main song is a car going full speed ahead and then suddenly out of no where biboo's section drops and the car screeches to a halt then biboo's part ends and it suddenly goes straight back to full speed ahead. just in terms of intensity its 10->1->10->1->10. while Above Below is consistent all the way through. were Rebellion to have the same consistency of Above Below i would probably like Rebellion more
I think my favas are Liz mainly due to her being British as a brit myself the humour and slang i can connect with (also already having that 'familiarity' as you said helps), and CeCe her debut was just really charming and the humour I really enjoyed and i like the whole automaton theming, still need to watch GiGi's Debut though
As always Hololive impress with the qualities of their talent choices. 43:40 Re the violin Live2D... the current animation based implementation is likely a compromise for their current tracking app. Checking around for other vtuber violin players (e.g. Uruka of Phase Connect and azuresniper) there are more dynamic implementations for Live2D that show potential. Still given the motion tracking Cover managed for Regis Altare's cello playing in his 3D showcase, it looks like they'll have a handle on it for 3D performances, and future upgrades to their Live2D app will likely close the gap.
Cover's have been talking about shifting their expansion plans towards the European and East Asian markets, so finding talents that are interested in serving European times fits well with those plans. It also addresses an issue with a gap in the Hololive streaming schedule, previously only Kiara, Ina, and sometimes Fauna were hitting European prime time for holoEN and when they were on break on preparing for events there were periods with no Holomem streaming during European hours. With Brave Group Europe launching "globie" last year, and various agencies picking up European talents in the last couple of years, the business side will see increasing Hololive's presence in the European market as a sound move to catch growth in the European vtuber audience. The recently announced Hololive presence at Japan Expo in Paris in July and "Justice" having their first con appearance at the Expo, shows commitment to the market, which is something European fans have been complaining about for a bit. At the moment ES appears to be a little bit down the priority list, although Hakka means Holostars have a presence in that market... so Cover are keeping an eye on that side of things.
raora is a great artist but i would say ina is probably more well known and popular among azur lane and girls frontline players although most of them probably dont know it was ina designing some characters and/or skins they like the design of as its credited to her under another name, same goes for raora actually, she already done vtuber models for at least 1 big vtuber who recently got a new model/outfit very recently. there are also some other great artists in hololive although maybe not in actual art but rather at making art in the art game passpartout, the 2 that comes to my mind immediately are marine and mumei. iofi as an artist i dont know if she is known outside of the hololive stuff she done as i dont know of her past/personal life so cant comment on anything they done outside of what she streams herself doing and posts on her hololive twitter

Ooh, maybe that's why Gigi's design stands out to me so much. I can totally see the Taokaka comparison. She was always one of my favorites in BlazBlue
