content is good. Normally I don't say anything about production quality, although I think you are pretty close! I recommend upping your microphone game. A $100 external XLR mic will make your content much more listenable.
You saved my ass today. I was replacing a High/Low rocker switch with a Hi/Off/Low toggle switch because my husband broke the spring-wound timer switch by forcing the timer back to zero to turn off the whole house fan. So while I was replacing the broken part, I wanted to add a way to turn the fan off without damaging the timer again. The toggle switch came with 6 connection ports and no instructions. My husband came home early, so he was home and waiting on me while the main breaker was off. I was able to wrap up the project in time to spend the evening together. Thank you so much!
Very succinct. If I could make one suggestion it would be to record in a more sound neutral space - it would make your voice come through much more clearly and leash harsh. Since you're using a greenscreen or masking your background, a simple and free approach is to record in a walk in closet or even facing into a closet you can't walk into. The fabrics and unevenness of the clothing will reduce the vast majority of that harsh reverb and make it even more clear for those listening to this awesome description! Of course, this is 6 years old, so perhaps you're already doing that at this point if you're still doing videos. :) Suggestion aside, this is great stuff!
A good video, The Best explanation of DPDT switches I have to see what about filters for switches i.e. Type, pole ( My need is DPDT throw configuration ), switch action ( required for Height Adjustment Mechanism for PC table ), current Rating ( My vase 2amp 12 volts DC ) I could not order on Amazon for want of these requirements. Please advice. Thanking You in advance
Hello, I have a 20 AMP double pole switch that works as follows: Its a Light switch in a guest bedroom with a Neutral (on the Top Left), Black Hot wire (on the Top Right) and Red Cable (on the Bottom Right). This Bottom right cable is only HOT when the master bedroom light switch is turned on). The Bottom Left terminal is blank. The house was built in the 20's and this setup I am told was used as security feature to turn on lots of bedroom ceiling lights from one dedicated switch in the master bedroom. When the master bedroom switch is in the ON and the Red Cable is hot the guest bedroom light switch remains on thereby keeping the ceiling lights illuminated. Can you describe how many throws it has? Thank you!
"i would of never figured this out without this tutorial" there are literally thousands of videos about the subject, yet you think this one is the ONLY one that got it right. LOL
The switch you used to show a SPDT is wrong. That's a SPST switch with light. You also got the direction wrong. 2:52 When the switch is physically in the down position PINS 1& 2 and 5 & 6 are closed and when up it is 2 & 3, 5 & 4 that are closed.
I've got an illuminated switch. 12V 20A, 24V 10A 7 1 4 2 5 3 6 1-outgoing pos(+) for lower lamp 2-incoming 3-outgoing pos(+) for upper lamp 4-outgoing 5-incoming (+) 6-outgoing 7- Neg(-) for lamps Can this switch be used as reverse polarity switch in a motor?
Note that the convention is from positive to negative in this video and the results will be the reverse if you use negative to positive. Regardless, the principle is the same.
That depends on how and what you are wiring. all the switches he showed are for AC only but people still use them. As long as they don't use something that uses the full 30 amps or even half that. It is best to use a relay in any case you may think you will have a lot of amp draw. The way I understand it it's how and what the contractors are made of actually in the switch that makes the difference. They are made of metals that tend to arc less and thicker. DC arcs more and that may cause issues when reversing polarities or other situations. hope i helped.
Yes but That's only one function that you can achieve with a DPDT. 1 Reverse polarity. 2. Open and close two separate circuits at the same time with different voltages and or current types. (not recommended to use two different current type but possible.) 3. Operate a single component from two different power sources. 4. Operate a single component at two different voltages. 5. Operate two different components from a single power sources. 6. Operate two separate components where both turn on or off in one position(throw) and in the other position only one component turns on or off. a few others.
Not AWESOME. It was incorrect. They showed a switch and were talking about a different switch. They have the direction of on off wrong when talking about how the switch works.
Only people that can understand what he is saying are all the other hindi (not sure on spelling) ppl listening and thats it. Everyone else doesn't understand a word he is saying. Seemed like a great video, but incredibly hard to understand anything he said and no subs included.

is there any components or anythings....that is used to provide the current for a limited time like for 3seconds 4 seconds.......
Yes. they are called momentary switches, to do it manually, and relay timers to do it automatically.
Explained better than the teacher.

do we have to connect terminal 1 with 4 and 3 with 6 or it connected internally ?
Hi, we have to connect it using wires. It is not connected internally.

How to use a DC fan as both a fan and an exhauster by using SPDT switch??? Plz help me give me tips...
Why is when when the switch is flipped down, the signal path went from the battery to 3 to 2 and not 3 to 6?
