Humans and animals have different brain anatomies, so neurotransmitters have diffferent effects. An animal eating a lot could be perfectly fine while a human doing a small dose could have really serious effects.
@@willkwon7644 what would be the point of having a psychedelic defence mechanism if it only worked on humans unless we were actively trying to farm them? Tell me if I’m just dumb
They should show this type of videos in schools instead of the anti-drug ads they usually show. This shit scared me more than any single anti-drug campaign they ever did at my school.
I’ve had bad trips on mushrooms. Plenty like over 20. And this scared me really badly. That helpless feeling where it feels like impending doom. I can only imagine it’s 100 times worse
not sure what type of anti-drug things you have, I am from a small European country... but that thing that we did have? That was intense. It was by a guy from police department solving drug related problems, it was very visual with before/after (especially with synthetic drugs), lot of videos of people having a really bad trip... Real intense.
I know a guy I went to school with who tried it out freshman year. Didn’t show up to school for almost a month and nearly got dropped for excessive absences. When he finally did come back, he was a lot more quiet, quit all sports teams, and seemed a few seconds slower than everything around him. It’s like he was caught in a permanent daydream.
In my country Nepal, Datura is offered to lord Shiva on the day of shivratri (Hindu festival). Mind you lord Shiva is know as the lord of destruction. Datura is said to have grown from the chest of lord Shiva after he had consumed poison in an event in the religious texts (puran) so it already has a pretty hardcore reputation in my culture. Worshippers offer datura to lord Shiva on that day. My mom, dad and grandparents have told me stories of people who consumed it and have either died or have never regained sanity after consumption. Don't try it, it's definitely not worth it.
was looking for this comment, that thread title gave a worried chucke, read tons about it back in the day, terrifying chemical and crazy that someone willing sought to take some
@@skinsubtlety No problem man, my pleasure. Also some extra info for people who want to know more; hippies love lord Shiva since he is usually associated with consuming stuff like cannabis. Nepal used to be the hippie centre of the world back in the 60s/70s before consumption of such stuff was banned. The word datura is also originated from Sanskrit. There is a temple called Pashupatinath which is considered the most important temple for hindus which here in Kathmandu, Nepal. Pashupatinath is temple of lord Shiva. Temples usually distribute bhang (edible cannabis) boiled with milk or mixed in sweets during shivratri to pilgrims and worshippers. It's completely legal to consume marijuana/ cannabis on shivratri in pashupatinath for everyone. All the sages that come from all over the world are high as a kite that day and will even offer you some to smoke. If you're into spirituality and smoking marijuana you should come visit Nepal some day on shivratri, Nepal's also the birthplace of Buddha so if you're into Buddhism too it's a place you won't want to miss.
I don't think the fact that a throwaway account was used is a red flag, considering he was using said account to discuss a drug that in all nature, no one should use. I wouldn't want that baggage on my real account that could be associated with personal things, and possibly personal friends.

Datura experience: Taken it once. Smoked a bunch of the leaf with housemates. Nothing happened and I went to bed. Woke up feeling amazing, great sleep. Went downstairs and everyone looked at me in horror. They showed me videos of me balancing in weird positions on the fence, speaking freaky high pitch in my boxer shorts. Plus other crazy shit. They apparently stopped me from walking into the forest trying to get out of town or something. I remember none of this. Not even a haze.
Never tried drugs and know nothing of drugs. But what interests me is that such a small dose of things can completetly change the way you think and behave. It's crazy to me and this is the closest thing to black magic that we'll ever get

It's only terrifying if someone were to lace your food/drink with those drugs. If you go out of your way to find, obtain, and prepare them, and even go on freakin' r/drugs to ask if you should take them and they overwhelmingly say "HELL NAH!" and proceed to take them anyway, then, as Batman's archnemesis once said, "You get what you f***ing deserve!" If what happened wasn't someone trolling (which I think it is), then this is just natural selection, not a victim, and I don't feel sorry for him one bit.
Absolutely. I really empathized. Like, "Aww man, that kid's brain is definitely melting right now, but he's right. Those mammoths should lay off. Life's too adorable (for mammoths) to spend your time throwing each other across the landscape."
In my dumb youth I tried datura. The dry mouth is very real and the first thing you notice. This is manageable at first because you have your wits about you and can drink copious amounts of water. The next thing that goes is your vision. Your eyes turn into one big pupil. This means reading your phone is impossible and the ability to call for help a matter of luck. This is when you begin your lucid hallucinations which can be fun but are a 30 or so minutes of of a 12 hour experience. Your body temperature increases rapidly and you can’t sweat so your skin is beet red at this point you begin having your out of bodily experience. You literally feel like you are watching your self from above like GTA and I remember having thoughts like “weird, I guess I’m pat today” it wasn’t spiritual it was terrifying having the lack of self. Then you have your black in black out period where you only remember some of the night but the idea of where, who, what you are let alone that you are on drugs is gone. When your trip is over the events you do remember don’t go away. You believe them as a full blown memory. I was convinced I cheated on my current girlfriend with my ex and my friend confronted his math teacher because he was convinced “he solved the problems they learned in his 1:1 tutoring” that never occurred. As we both came to I could hear him yelling in the living room in my parents basement that he needed water. I some how found the door knob and crawled toward the kictchen. My parents had an open layout for the living room and kitchen with the only distinction being about 1 foot of wall extending out of the 8 foot entrance . When I grabbed us water and tried to bring some to my friend I couldn’t find the end of that one foot extension and or lights or anything of use. I started punching the wall to break through and luckily he found me before I did more damage or hit a wire. About 4 hours later 16 hrs in. We found the light switch. We both had heavy fevers and chalk white mouths from severe dehydration. My vision took over a week to come back to 100% and like I said our visions were 100% true to us for a long time. This is not something anyone should try. You are walking a tight rope of life and death this isn’t a psychedelic and shouldn’t be treated as one it’s a deliriant and even if you don’t of there are so many ways it can kill you. Stay away. I even wrote myself a note saying "you took datura of your own will, everything will be okay". I took 20 seeds ground up in water sat overnight and then sieved out. I had the same euphoric and dysphoric experience at first which then turned into complete dysphoria. It took me about 2 minutes standing in front of the toilet trying to urinate and my skin puffed up really red and puffy throughout the experience. Alex Birch It could be used to scare kids away from deliriants at least. Even if this person wasn't serious about taking it, there are still plenty that do. I'll never understand why people insist on messing with Datura. It's nothing like classic psychedelics. It's a deliriant. Unlike the classic recreational psychedelics, you won't be able to tell where reality ends and the hallucinations begin. Not to mention the alkaloids all but guarantees the experience will be dysphoric as hell. Atropine, scopolamine, and hyocine are also anticholinergics. And like it said, the dose for a trip is also enough to put someone into anticholinergic syndrome. The window of safety is incredibly narrow and anticholinergic syndrome is no joke. It's pretty scary to witness. And, as someone who is Rx'd levsin for IBS symptoms, even therapeutic doses give me enough of an idea to know how nasty they can be.
(See second paragraph for context) I'll never understand why people insist on taking drugs, whether it is heroin, psychedelics, weed, or plain old alcohol. Unlike doing a rewarding fun safe activity which naturally causes you to release endorphins, drugs put you in a state where you cannot take account of your surroundings, which is incredibly unsafe unless you make other people take care of you. ^ This isn't actually my opinion. I'm just pointing out that, the same reasons that you will have to argue why the above is irrelevant, also applies to people who take Datura. In short, for them it doesn't matter that the window of safety is narrower, in the same way that you don't mind being intoxicated despite knowing that there are big metal boxes outside that can decimate you if you don't pay attention when you cross the road. People take risks regardless of the safety. This also applies to sky divers, basejumpers, wingsuiters, prop-plane pilots, skateboarders, etc. They *could* get equal enjoyment from, like, ping pong or a marathon, so why take the risk when the window of safety is considerably narrower? The answer, as always with humans, is "why not?".
it's stuff like this that makes for excellent anti-drug campaigns. I'm pro-gentle parenting, but I think there's a big problem of anti-drug campaigns watering down the truth and shining a spotlight on the most unimportant details. I don't think once in my years of dare or anti drug assemblies have I ever heard anyone talk about bad trips and the trauma it can cause. but it's the terrifying shit like this that people need to see, this is the horrible reality of what taking powerful drugs can be like, and sometimes we DO need to scare our kids. I think stories like this should be included in anti drug campaigns, bc even though it's incredibly upsetting, it effectively communicates what a bad trip can be like. it's scary but it's real, and I think that's the important truth. also, I'm not totally against drug use, but I am pro-educating on proper drug use, and I think specific drugs like Datura shouldn't be taken and that people shouldn't even entertain the idea of trying it.
The problem with a lot of anti drug ideology is it doesn’t really work well. The more strictly enforced drugs are the more people who abuse them and end up dying. If anything this is a good example of why it doesn’t work because the amount of people with direct experience telling him not to try datura and he disregarded all of it. Studies in many countries show that drug use actually drastically decreases when they’re all legalized as ironic as that may sound and is conversely the reason why America has a gigantic problem with opioid abuse and marijuana usage since the infamous war on drugs
tbh i think if an anti-drug psa would just tell people straight up how awful some of this stuff is, then it would affect a lot of people. sure it'd be very distressing, but so are the stories of most people who used to be addicts/have tried drugs, but nah most of the time they use metaphor to try and sugar coat the true horror of drugs. ya know gotta sort of 'glamorize' it in a way for tv.
anti-drug fearmongering has a history of ruining lives by restricting people's personal freedoms to take whatever drugs they wish to take. You're out here shamelessly promoting the idea that "we need to scare people away from drugs". How dishonest and authoritarian of you. You think you know what's best for me buddy? Keep your opinions to yourself. Don't try to manipulate little children by scaring them. Anti-drug propoganda has been a thorn in the side of this country for ages now. The media like the attention, so they drum up fear around some drug every year, once a year. Heard of the recent "fentanyl disguised as halloween candy" scare? It was revealed to be totally fake lol. People like you wanted to scare us with lies about fentanyl. Being afraid of datura makes zero sense. We need to do the opposite. We need to study its effects and observe them objectively. People with an obvious insidious agenda like yourself need to be kept miles away from such studies. Then i'll trust the experts' findings, as long as people like you aren't remotely involved. People like you got alcohol banned in the Prohibition times. You're scared - that's ok. But we are not all like you lol

Pretty much every person I've known who has taken datura has wound up in the emergency room because they were unable to distinguish drug induced hallucinations from reality. They thought it would be like shrooms or acid, but it's far from that. Don't do datura. Like, ever.
I was a major drug user, clean 7 years now, and I used to joke that I wasn't an addict but a connoisseur, however there was one drug I wouldn't consider trying that was Datura, or jimson seeds as we knew them. I know horror stories there are people that take them and are ok that definitely isn't the norm. More times than not you come out worse. I knew a farmer that somehow accidentally ingested some and died quickly. I had another friend who was locked up and on work release. They came across a plant while working and decided to take them and from what I was told he didn't take many at all. He wound locked in the hole for 3 days. Now this a very intelligent guy that I grew up. He was not the violent type at all. Now to this day he is extremely violent and has the nickname of Rooster as he is known to climb up on things and crow like a rooster for no reason. Very sad.
I've done daitura. When it comes on it starts extreme dry mouth so bad you cant swallow. Then you feel an incredible force pushing you down until you can't move. Then you become unconscious for an hour or so. When you wake up you are full on hallucinating. I saw things that weren't there. Didn't see things that were. The second and third days I would try to read a magazine and the words would jump up and run off the page. People in the pictures would wave at me. At some point I thought I was a bottle of ketchup in the fridge. My friend told me I took their hand and was stroking it. He asked me what I was doing and I replied leave me alone Im making a sandwich. Leave this stuff alone.
this sounds horrifying. i cant even smoke weed because it triggers some kind of out of body experience that i can’t handle. i cant even imagine doing this ):
It means a lot to have someone I can look up to who is just like me. It reminds me I am not alone. It encourages me to be more vocal about who I am and what I stand for. I will never apologise for how I pronounce GIF. Thank you, Nexpo. You have no idea how much you have affected my life for the better.
Sounds like the person would have experienced full-blown psychosis. If you’ve never experienced psychosis, trust me when I say you should be thankful. It can be absolutely terrifying. You can end up having what are called “tactile hallucinations”, where you can see, hear, and even feel things that are not there but your mind has convinced your senses that it is. It is the scariest thing I’ve ever had to endure and it’s something I never want to experience again.
I had a 2 week long psychosis in the beginning of this year. the paranoia and audio hallucinations are indistinguishable from reality and truly feel like they're my own thoughts and i am hearing. i would not wish that on anyone, imagining what this guy had to go through on datura terrifies me and i can only hope he didn't hurt anyone other than himself
Hey Nexpo, here's a case I want you to look into: Harley Dilly. He's a young youtuber who went missing and was found in a chimney of an abandoned house.
HI! I made the mistake of ingesting datura as a teenager, and though it was only one time (don't really know anyone who has ever intentionally taken datura more than once), I can tell you right now: this post is fake. One of the immediate side effects of datura is your pupils dilating to the brink. Legit, no color whatsoever is left in your eye. This makes viewing any sort of backlit device like a computer screen, phone screen, television screen, even digital clock almost impossible. The fact this guy got on reddit to type two separate posts is absolutely unbelievable. The google post, and the "big dog" comment are absolutely contrived. On top of massive pupil dilation, you also get an effect known as "eye jitters" which happens when you t5ry to focus your eye on any one thing in particular. The second you look at any texts, images etc, your eyes will begin to almost vibrate back and forth. Posting is, for lack of a better word, impossible. This story is interesting, but definitely a work of fiction.
So weird to think they created the account for attention and yet only made three posts instead of milking the hell out of it. But honestly, I’m relieved to hear that they’re most likely okay and just wanted internet clout.
@@houndrysmagolyteofhope4661 i dont know if this will be any use for you cause its all in Finnish. (psyvault .net /viewtopic.php?t=821) But that is just one forum dating back to 2007 i found alot of old blogs/forums talking about it by just simply googling datura experiences in finnish. im not by any means saying that its a safe substance or anything. @@Nlify hey thanks for actually answering, you are one in a million my friend. Also yeah its interesting. It tends to be a shame this information is often ignored.
The chances he made this up is basically 100%. Consider for a second, if he wanted to Google how to end his trip, how would he end up commenting on the original thread? Even if he was currently logged on to Reddit, even if it was still on that page, he would have to type into the box and press post. That’s not at all similar to a Google search. Then the fact he made the account the same day? Let’s get a grip. The whole thing is as fake as could be, you can spot it from a mile.
From the substances I’ve done before, while not a lot, I’ve noticed that depending on how much you you take, you can forget the entire day leading up to the trip. My guess is that, if he did survive (I hope and believe he did), he most likely completely forgot these posts and the entire account. I simply hope he is ok.
That's a great point, I don't know ow much about that platform but is it possible that they download instead of just being on the website? If they download it, even if they did forget, they would eventually open up the app again. Just a thought.
@@subturf my theory is that he was on a website version of reddit, thus explaining him typing google into the replies rather than the google search bar at the top.
I did a report on this drug in HS, it was pretty obscure at the time (decades ago) so I was really excited about it. When I was done doing the report in front of class I looked up and I will never forget the look of fascination and excitement on so many faces and I knew right then that I had done something terrible. It still upsets that I might have led some fellow class mates to find a pretty horrible drug they would have known nothing about.
I had to do an anti drug speech in high school and the drug I was given to cover was mushrooms. After doing a bunch of research on mushrooms I realized they're actually pretty safe and seemed really interesting. 2 years later I tried them and it was great. Really ironic stuff, had no interest in doing any drugs before that.
@@McFwoupson The D.A.R.E. program helped get me into drugs. They preach that Marijuana is the worst of all of them, so when I finally did try it and it was really harmless it made me wonder what else they were lying about. Then began the dip into everything. I regret some of it, and I think those programs entice people who otherwise wouldnt know about the drug.
DARE inspired me to smoke weed, and honestly is responsible for many of my classmates getting into harder stuff. They always say the drugs are bad, but then describe them in the most appealing way possible.
@@simontheewok The DARE program sucked. They didn’t even say any bad effects of the drugs, or what you can do if you’ve started using. The program sucks ass and I’m glad it’s died down.
Decided to do a small research on Datura and found out that the fatal dose is the exact number the OP took(15 seeds) so um there’s a high chance that they might be dead which is kinda sad.
Oh yeah Same thing in California I was trying to remember the name Thanks Edit: It was actually called hells bells here in cali, (I'm sure some say devils bells as well though)
I came out of a three-week long coma last year and experienced “delirium” which very quickly became psychosis. It is quite easily the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me and although I’m *so much better* now, I can very easily recall the terror I felt, as well as what I now look back on as some sort of intensive, full (but non-consensual) participation horror film. Long story short, I will not be willingly ingesting anything that could ever bring me close to that again. Don’t do it, kids. It’s *not worth it*
My best friend knew someone in primary school who smoked Datura as a joke. He said "he just never was the same afterwards" I always thought he's just joking but now I kind of feel like he was telling the truth
@@VisFxLamda not my friends and no...he didn't do drugs really. This plant simply grows where we live and kids know not to touch it so obviously they will touch it...or smoke it 🤣
My neighbor took this some years ago and then he went missing for like a week, when he came back he was just gone, he didn't react, he doesn't speak anymore, he just stares at space and is just numb. When it rains you can see him standing outside watering the flowers. When he looks at you is like you're looking directly at a void, his eyes are like black holes, is literally insane.
Why do I feel like Flippnflop was just trolling everyone? His comments seemed somewhat performative, like what you’d write if you wanted people to think you’re tripping. Would he really be lucid enough to make a (mostly) cogent sentence if he had truly taken Datura?
@@jexotic1470 I don't know how far fetched it is, I've had trips before (especially bad ones) where drug subreddits essentially became my "ground" to the world
Psychedelics are no joke. I last did acid over a year ago and the bad trips I'd occasionally have really fucked up my mental health. Even with medication, I've turned to hard drugs to cope and my mental health as been pretty frail and fucked up even worse than it was before. I definitely appreciate my new perspective of the world, but I wouldn't wish the mental and emotion consequences on my worst enemy
My mom has datura plants as a garden plant. She always warned me since we got them that they were extremely poisonous. No animal will go anywhere near it. Deer eat everything but that. Birds refuse to even land on it. Beautiful plant and lets out a very nice smell at night, but dear God, do NOT ingest it. Datura is not something to mess with.
@let's say hypothetically They're legal to own as long as you aren't using them to produce and distribute their product for drug use. They're actually very pretty plants and they smell super nice when the flowers open up at night, so they make a really nice edition to the garden as long as you don't have small children or pets around that may try to eat them. Interesting that nature would create such a toxic plant only to make it smell amazing haha.
@@needanewsandwich2359 He must have been so excited to try it because he had the perfect opportunity to and plenty to try. Not trying to justify taking a drug that is extremely harmful, just trying to see things from his perspective.
This is crazy, just a few days ago I was going through reddit on the drugcirclejerk sub and this guy posted a Datura tea concoction, thought it was a joke at first til i went through his post history. It started out okay and then got darker, he constantly said he wanted to end himself and then started doing datura and antihistamines recreationally.
i have a feeling that the 15-20 seeds dose would be a normal dose without them having smokes the leaves... i hope they didn't do too much and i hope they're ok now. i wonder if during/after their trip they had some sort of revelation that was so intense and personal they didn't want to share anything that alluded to it so they just abandoned the thread and scrapped the reddit account.
A friend of mine from a couple years ago (6/7 years) was a heavy user that would usually answer the question "What drugs do you most commonly take?" with "Yes.". Now he'd done some sketchy shit before, including experimenting with his own cuts of god knows what (i don't know that much about drugs so i hope that makes sense). This story stands out to me because he changed after taking (smoking, drinking, idk) Datura based stuff. I'd forgotten the name of it until now. He went off to home excited because he was going to try some 'real experimental shit', "Datura" he called it, which of course meant fuck all to me at the time. Hours later i met another friend of his and we got to talking, and of course i'm thinking i'll tell him about our mutual friend and what he's up to... I kid you not that dude froze straight in his tracks: "Jesus christ, if it doesn't kill him he'll wish it did.". Neither of us knew where he lived exactly, and we couldn't contact him for a solid 2 days. That was 6 years ago. He's a twitchy mess, locked himself up for weeks on end, terrified of just about everything. I swear to god it's like he went on a bad trip and never came down. ... Hell, at least it's gotten better the last couple years. Let me tell you one thing, having known someone like that, i'm never touching drugs other than caffeine. I don't think i'd be lying if i said he died because of it. His body's still there, but whatever's left inside of him isn't him. Making me see the reactions of others on that reddit thread makes me wonder just how much he'd taken... ... Damn this brought back some nasty memories...
Seeing the way he typed this made me compelled to read it, it has proper gaps inbetween to seperate the introduction of his story, the middle, and conclusion. Ya know? The way we were taught in elementary school. Some people type huge blobs of text messages and expect us to read all that junk. Seperating each section can help the reader pick out whats important to read and whats optional. With that being said I believe this indeed happened. My condolences to your friend, bud.

Erowids amazing. It has saved countless lives. When I was a kid it was the only place to get honest information on drugs. If you went anywhere else they all just said, "IF YOU SMOKE EVEN ONE WEED YOU WILL GET SCHIZOPHRENIA OR DIE." I was a psychonaut for years and every trip enriched my life and gave me new viewpoints to experience thanks to them. Before you ask I haven't touched an illegal drug in ten years now though I do occasionally miss experiencing a mellow shroom trip to re balance my perspective.
It looks like that, but Erowid actually really did help me with my art assignments when I was in high school (I used a lot of it for reference photos!). It's a fantastic site that, while the graphics are outdated and goofy, provides a lot of information that, frankly, you COULD NOT get most places, including what the actual chemical makeup of the drug is, and what it even LOOKS like chemically. It never encourages use, but has detailed info about what COULD happen should you take a drug, and that's a lifesaver in so, so many circumstances.
@@SynchronisationFailed that's so cool! I didn't know the page, and I didn't mean to insult it or its creators, its layout just seemed kinda funny to me😂
I'm hoping the guy was embarrassed at the mistake he felt he'd made in taking the drug, and just decided to quit Reddit in order to put the embarrassing mistake behind him.
I did it when I was a teenager. I remember walking home with my friends talking to each other behind me even though I was alone. Next thing I remember was waking up at the front door of my mum's house the next morning. I'd put a set of pruning shears on the car roof and thrown my phone and some other miscellaneous objects off the balcony. I told her I was spiked. I think I got off easy and can see how such a drug can be dangerous not only to the user but to those around them.
I have depersonalisation/derealization disorder. Quite chronically. I wouldn’t wish the disorder on anyone, when it’s intense it’s one of the scariest most disconcerting things I’ve ever experienced. It’s a bizarre feeling, like you’re not in your own body, like you’re trapped in your own head and fading away. I feel bad for the commenter that got it
For me I almost feel like I'm in a first person video game, and I'm not in control. Don't even get me started on looking in the mirror. It's terrifying to feel that way.
combination of head injuries and marijuana led to something similar to this for me, only thing that helped is microdosing mushrooms, and lions mane if you can find a good source. not saying that you should microdose, everyone is different, but I feel reconnected from the inside in a way that I simply wasn't before. Dosage really is key though, take too much and you could probably break reality just as easily. I've never taken enough to have visuals or hallucinations. when I smoked weed a lot of the time I'd wake up with what I can only describe as head rot, and my gut would scream with the worst feeling of anxiety all day. Just felt like false signals in my gut firing off all at once. Also woke up once in a weird autopilot 3rd person state where I was the head of my actions but I wasn't the one moving my arms or performing the motions, maybe part of my brain was still asleep? A lot of the time though the world just had no life, kinda like how a simulation would feel. Everything is happening around you but you don't feel emotionally connected to it and nothing feels real, whatever real means... The only reason why I mention microdosing is because mushrooms have a way of making things feel more alive, and this affect lasts beyond the duration of how long the substance stays in your body, so I think under the right conditions it could help some people. I refrain from recommending it though since these compounds affect everyone differently, for some it might just make it worse.
I have the exact same experience (never taken drugs :/) and it’s absolutely horrible, can fully empathise. Had it 24/7 since about 2017 (and before that, but just been less noticeable).
I had this really bad when I was 12-14 and had no idea what was happening to me. I even remember my first “episode”, it was so terrifying. Was up at hospital a lot bc doctors thought I had epilepsy. Luckily for me, it went away by itself
Yeah, i can promise you that datura is worse than that... IT is not posible to imagine without having the experience at all... You are literally wisiting another world but not the one you would wish for if you take it for tripping... Psycadelics is better, no harm there.. Should try shrooms or mdma for your personality dissorder. You can meet god, a good god 🙌🏼
One of my friends in high school, her brother (claimed anyway) to have found Detura plants in the woods behind their house. He made tea out of them like Flippinflop in this video. He done it in the morning when the house was clear. My friend got gone late in the afternoon and she found her brother naked in the front yard staring up at the son, digging up all the grass within arms length. Judging by the fact he’d basically created a “snow angel” equivalent of pulled grass around him; he’d been there quite some time. He was institutionalized until he came down and I think it took a week or so. What I remember most is my friend didn’t know the name of the plant, only that her brother called it “devils weed” and she had no clue why anyone would take a plant with such an ominous name. He’s doing ok now. No permanent damage as far as I know but it took weeks for him to recover.
@@harperh1067 I’ve heard it won’t hurt you but can help you in small doses, in the higher doses, where people start to have hallucinations and begin to scream and cry out, that’s when they’ve already had such a near-fatal (if not completely so) dose of Datura. I’d recommend not Don’t an drugs, since they’re all not good, but definitely don’t try Datura Innoxia and don’t ever do Heroin. They’re both bad, but one will kill you over the course of several months/years and the other will possibly kill you in several hours.
@@zaynes5094 I agree, but just for the sake of debate... not all drugs are physically harmful and even the ones that are harmful, when used responsibly, can have beneficial effects (for some). Marijuana while not perfect, is an effective pain killer for a lot of people and it can help with a lot of other things as well, it's also far less dangerous than opioids. Lung health is an issue though so alternative methods of consumption is recommended, maybe not edibles since dosage is unpredictable and potency can be indescribably scary and/or on the verge of physically dangerous. De-realization and increased anxiety after usage (when you are sober) also occurs in some. Traditional Psychedelics, again when used responsibly, can help people isolate and identify problems within themselves. Just don't take absurd amounts, or at least be aware of what could happen, what to expect, and be in a comfortable environment when taking them. Physically they are non-harmful aside from 5-meo-dmt, but the experiences can be so overwhelming that they can cause long term PTSD. Real life experiences can cause PTSD too though so it's not really the drug destroying your brain, it's your reaction to the experience delivered by the drug. Dosage is the main variable. No one takes Tylenol in large quantities thinking that it's good for them and that they will be fine, they would consider themselves poisoned and it would be labelled as their fault, not the drug. Under the same breath, if someone takes an absurd amount of Mushrooms or LSD and they walk away a different person, it's not the drug that forced them to take such a large amount. As for alcohol, it has no medical benefits aside from killing bacteria on the surface of your body. It's has only ever been used recreationally and therefore there is no real benefit aside from lowered inhibitions in social environments, if you want to call that a good thing. If you need a drug to talk to the people that you're surrounded by, maybe that says something about the environment (just my opinion). Also, lowered inhibitions pushes your inner dialogue of things that you would never say in person, to the outside, causing you to say or do things that you would normally never do. This is great if a person is in a good mood, but if someone is in a bad mood, or if the person is mentally deranged, good luck... I actually consider alcohol one of the most harmful substances in society when you consider the number of relationships it's destroyed, the amount of car crashes it's contributed to, and the amount of deaths it's caused from over consumption or severe withdraw (severe alcoholics have died from quitting too abruptly). It's still not alcohols fault, we choose to consume it, but I believe it's over-glorified and it gets a free pass just like smoking due to how culturally en-grained it is. I'm not anti-alcohol, some people enjoy themselves on it and they use it fairly responsibly, I just don't think it's dangers are communicated nearly enough. Even in normal amounts life long usage is hard on the body. As with anything, the risk is heightened in larger amounts. People have died from water overdoses as well. For the most part though, avoiding all of it if possible is the best way to not get hurt. Abstinence is bliss.
BlackSn0wz the edible thing needs to be talked about more man i was 14 and 90 pounds when i took large unknown dose at school(bad idea right) i felt like i had some of the effects for two months (weird tingling double hands thing idk it was weird) it left me in a weird mental state that id only ever really been in once before when i got older smoking it didn’t leave those effects but it still reminds me of them so i don’t do it much at all

I'm going to come straight out with this: Who ever this is/was seems like they're probably a teenager. My estimation comes from two fronts: 1. They said they have the house to themselves for the weekend. Sure, this could imply a number of living situations, but it reads like a parent's weekend away on vacation to me. 2. Datura can pretty readily be bought online (as this video states, DON'T), so why would he have trouble getting his hands on it? Because he has to hide it from his parents. 3. Don't get me wrong, I've BEEN that dumb-ass kid; in saying that, when you're young and you want to get thwacked out on something, you might not have connections to the "good" stuff. Teenagers look for alternatives (Morning Glory, smoking cooking spices, etc.) that give similar effects. Obviously, it's not hard evidence, but there's just something about it that sticks out to me.

It's only terrifying if someone were to lace your food/drink with those drugs. If you go out of your way to find, obtain, and prepare them, and even go on freakin' r/drugs to ask if you should take them and they overwhelmingly say "HELL NAH!" and proceed to take them anyway, then, as Batman's archnemesis once said, "You get what you f***ing deserve!" @Alycea Harper Don't, it's normal to find humor in a serious situation.
Stay away. All out of love I promise

Since datura is a concentrated deliriant, I bet it's worse than taking 2500 mgs of benedryl, which is also considered a deliriant when taken over the recommended dosage.
To anyone who wants to try a deleriant like detura I would strongly suggest writing "DETURA" on your arm in sharpie, so if an EMT or doctor has to treat you they know what you're on and how to treat your condition as there are reversal agents for the chemicals in detura.

If it comes back you can always try salting that patch in the yard, though I see it as a last resort. With enough, nothing should grow back. (Note: would be best if its located on the edge of yard, so you don't have a bald patch of dirt in your space.)

Moral Of The Story, don't do drugs kids!
@@kingali1606 give them to me, ill keep the drugs safe

I don't think a reddit user randomly abandoning their very fresh, newly made account after using it for two days makes a very persuasive case.
Imagine hating reality so much that you will risk your life for a head change.
tbh i think if an anti-drug psa would just tell people straight up how awful some of this stuff is, then it would affect a lot of people. sure it'd be very distressing, but so are the stories of most people who used to be addicts/have tried drugs, but nah most of the time they use metaphor to try and sugar coat the true horror of drugs. ya know gotta sort of 'glamorize' it in a way for tv.
anti-drug fearmongering has a history of ruining lives by restricting people's personal freedoms to take whatever drugs they wish to take.

I know horror stories there are people that take them and are ok that definitely isn't the norm. More times than not you come out worse. I knew a farmer that somehow accidentally ingested some and died quickly. I had another friend who was locked up and on work release.

You've honestly never heard of erowid?

No permanent damage as far as I know but it took weeks for him to recover.
glad he recovered unharmed
@@harperh1067 I’ve heard it won’t hurt you but can help you in small doses, in the higher doses, where people start to have hallucinations and begin to scream and cry out, that’s when they’ve already had such a near-fatal (if not completely so) dose of Datura. I’d recommend not Don’t an drugs, since they’re all not good, but definitely don’t try Datura Innoxia and don’t ever do Heroin. They’re both bad, but one will kill you over the course of several months/years and the other will possibly kill you in several hours.

I agree, but just for the sake of debate...
not all drugs are physically harmful and even the ones that are harmful, when used responsibly, can have beneficial effects (for some).
Abstinence is bliss.
...Did that happen in 2017? Just curious...

@@jackiechen3820 well now its story time.
so i was 16 or 17 when i did it. i took it at a friends house who lived about 20 minutes away from my house via bike, and a bike is how i got there. we broke up several of the pods and split the seeds into three piles. i took one pile, and the other two people i was with took theirs. after i ate the seeds my friend turns to me and say "i cant believe you wanted to do this with us, this shit is kind of hardcore" this was a surprise to me, becuase the other friend we were with told me it was "like acid" which i had already done and thus didnt think it was a big deal. this shit was not like acid. i was lied to.
after about 30 minutes i noticed myself getting confused over stupid things, troubles speaking, and just generally feeling like i did something wrong, that deep gut feeling. so i decided it was time to go home, i got on my bike and started to peddal and then immediately blacked out. now from here on this story will be told through the bits i could remember, but mostly what i was told the next day by my family.
it took me probably 6ish hours to get home and i dont remember any of it. i was wearing one shoe on one foot and a torn up sock covered in blood on the other foot, i didnt have a shirt on and i had a flat tire on my bike (which after hearing how fucked up i was the next day, i was surprised i got it home). i didnt make any sense to anyone who could hear me. my dad said i just gave up on trying to talk a couple minutes after i got home. anything i tried to say would just come out as word vomit to everyone else but to me it was fine.
since i couldnt talk, that meant i couldnt tell me family where i was or who with, so my dad went on a fucking rampage to all my friends houses and my girlfriends house at the time trying to find out where i went and what i was on. my brother figured out that i had taken datura by talking to me like a baby and asking very simple questions, i remember the look of horror on his face when he told me that months prior one of his friends had taken it and flatlined 7 times after taking a does way smaller than what i took. i went to the bathroom and put my head under water from the faucet and just puked my fucking guts out, and when i looked up into the mirror, i didnt seemyself, i saw a pile of glass in the shape of me cracking and falling apart while reassembling itself. my brother said i froze for a long time just starring in the mirror.
i remember feeling tired but my family shaking me awake any time i tried to knock out. the didnt want me to die in my sleep and let it go unnoticed.
i could go on but honestly i think i got the point across. stick to weed, you dont need anything else.

@@beano2689 but the problem is this: throwaways are NOT connected to your account bc they have either no info or wrong info so it cannot be traced back to you in any way. Hahah i thought the same. As if Datura required some boost. I hope the guy was joking, otherwise he was too stupid.
I'm going to come straight out with this: Who ever this is/was seems like they're probably a teenager. My estimation comes from two fronts:
3. This is just such a "dumb-ass kid" thing to do.
Obviously, it's not hard evidence, but there's just something about it that sticks out to me.
damn didnt think of it that way
I had the exact same idea. It just seems to similar to a naive teen's behavior.
if he was a teen and if his parents came back home, it definitely could be that he wasn’t able to get back online because of his parents
And an explanation for no update could be that their parents found out somehow and took away all electronics:
I was thinking the same exact thing. funny you even mention morning glory because when I was in highschool I did the stupid morning glory seed tea just to try that trip. just seems like another kid experimenting with drugs
after i saw this video i asked my mom if she knew about this plant. she works as a nurse at an elderly home, so i didnt expect her to have any experience with it, but back in the days when she had an internship at a hospital, two young men were brought in who had taken datura.
yeah, she said it was traumatic af. both of them clearly experienced serious distress, constantly yelled, hallucinated like crazy. one of them were in the hopsital for quite a while, while the other one blamed himself for for the whole situation in a kind of a manic state, even after he was mostly clear of the stuff. i dont remember what happened with the other guy, but i say with confidence they werent the same ever since, and neither was my mom.
not fun, traumatic for everyone, dont dare touch that shit kids.
