Thanks Maggie! As a newish mum of one 33 month old precocious boy, what a relief it is to find you and hear your words of wisdom. I haven't had the bandwidth for youtube before. My mum has been unwell all of my life so I really feel you are going to be of significant help in my life; particularly after watching this.
Thanks Maggie. I really like the idea of changing the environment and asking them to go outside - I'll try that next time. And I really liked the tip of keeping it in perspective, there could be so many worse things they could be doing!!
Dear Maggie, You are so right, thank you for your gentle wise words, again! I love "the hand up" requesting silence. [They do that at the school assembly and it works so perfectly for all ages.] After your talk today I am taking that into my Grandies life now. After my own experience of motherhood and throwing both my hands in the air [on many many occasions] to no avail, the one hand request makes a lot of sense!! Until your next well chosen moment...
Hi I just found your channel☺ I am trying to find support for single parent grandmothers I've watched a few of your videos and you gave a lot of great information it's not easy raising children when you are young let alone raising them as a grandparent I am raising my only grand daughter It's summer break and I feel so guilty because I have autoimmune illnesses one called lupus therefore I am allergic to the sun. everyday I try to do at least one thing with my granddaughter park swimming to the horses but I am with a lot if pain and fatigue so I feel so sad that I'm unable to take her out all day long I allow her to watch the computer a lot but she us only allowed age appropriate things I also have her listen to books on line She is very good at art so we will sometimes make art We have a youtube channel where we help people with sleep disorders anxiety and the such I try to film daily but it's becoming such a chore for me editing can take hours I'm telling you all of this because I just need reasurrance Because I have raised 2 kids and they are adults now and now raising another child at this age I am not knowing who I am i get feelings of feeling scared for the future and things like this there are not any children around where we live so she does not get to have a play mate I am her friend and this is sometimes so hard because I do not have the energy to play like she wants all the time Is it normal that I feel guilty Are my feelings normal? I also wonder if you may know of any support groups for these types of situations? Thank you for making these videos you are helping a lot of people keep up the great work
Nana Rori ASMR ...Hi 👋🏻 I salute you for doing what you are already doing for your granddaughter! One thing I as a middle aged parent can advise is instead of feeling like you have to be her “friend” and play with her, try to search out a moms group where she can play with other kids her age with the same amount of energy. It can be so tiring for me, I can’t imagine how exhausted you must feel. Don’t feel guilty for not being her “everything” either. Seek the help of a moms group and tap into her school too. How old is she by the way?

Oh Maggie the way you deliver your advice is calming for me and that's sometimes all I need to re-jolt myself back into sensible mummy thinking.

Hi
I just found your channel☺
I am trying to find support for single parent grandmothers
I've watched a few of your videos and you gave a lot of great information
it's not easy raising children when you are young let alone raising them as a grandparent
I am raising my only grand daughter
It's summer break and I feel so guilty because I have autoimmune illnesses one called lupus therefore I am allergic to the sun.
everyday I try to do at least one thing with my granddaughter
park swimming to the horses but I am with a lot if pain and fatigue so I feel so sad that I'm unable to take her out all day long
I allow her to watch the computer a lot but she us only allowed age appropriate things
I also have her listen to books on line
She is very good at art so we will sometimes make art
We have a youtube channel where we help people with sleep disorders anxiety and the such I try to film daily but it's becoming such a chore for me
editing can take hours
I'm telling you all of this because I just need reasurrance
Because I have raised 2 kids and they are adults now and now raising another child at this age I am not knowing who I am i get feelings of feeling scared for the future and things like this
there are not any children around where we live so she does not get to have a play mate
I am her friend and this is sometimes so hard because I do not have the energy to play like she wants all the time
Is it normal that I feel guilty
Are my feelings normal?
I also wonder if you may know of any support groups for these types of situations?
Thank you for making these videos you are helping a lot of people
keep up the great work
