I must take exception to answer to question #49, the Cuban Missile crises. It was NOT caused by our fearing that the Soviets were teaching te Cubans about Missiles, it was caused by the Soviets placing THEIR MISSILES on Cuban soil, 20 MILES from our Southern Border. The CRISES ITSELF was when American ships Intercepted Russian ones headed for Cuba and refused to allow them to continue.

I was 13 when the 60s began. My parents were older and very conservative. I did not like the Beatles at all or most of the other bands similar to them during that time. We discussed politics and religion at the dining room table. We watched the news on television every night. Our parents discussed world news with us; that’s how I knew the Cuban missile crisis question was incorrect. Also, I have a minor in history.
I enjoy taking these quizzes. I do not count wrong the questions where I know they have made a mistake. 😆

Question 71: I first saw a microwave oven in 1973 in a factory canteen. I'd only just started there and there was an infra red oven at first, and within about a week it was replaced by a microwave, which none of us had ever heard of. You had to put a plastic key in for it to work, and it took me a while to realise that the keys were colour coded for length, so THAT'S why sometimes the food came out lukewarm. The long ones made it go on longer, obviously. Until this quiz, I thought 1973 was when microwaves were first on the market.

So is my memory lacking because I don't remember something I never heard of before? If indeed all these questions and answers are accurate, then it's a test of knowledge of the sixties, not a test of one's memory. And some of these answers are not accurate, either.
