      Hello Sharon!! I'm happy for you getting back into creating with cenent😊
      I have had a life change here. We just adopted our 8 yr old grandson. No more cement for me for a while. He has a lot of needs and I also still work full time.
      I do have video for a couple new posts if I can get time to edit😊
      I will be excited to see your completed projects😊 Enjoy your summer Sharon😊

    Hi me again! I just love your videos I’m addicted I think I’ve seen every single one now maybe once or twice each lol. I have noticed that in your new recipe you no longer put the tissue in your paperCrete is this true or did I miss something? Do you find it better without the tissue paper? Thanks again you’re amazing!

    • @VennasNature
      @VennasNature  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello Delfina😊 I will try different mixes depending on the texture I need for sculpting. I can get finer details with the clay without tissue paper. I use that clay on small areas or details. I use the tissue paper clays when I need more strength.
      I appreciate you enjoy my videos 😊. I'm just me...a bit goofy my granddaughter says quirky...lol.
      I enjoy the art and sharing with others to inspire creativity in others.😊

      I’m the same as you. I’m always creating and trying different arts. I sculpt with epoxy sculpt and air dry clay but want to be able to make outdoor art and it nots cost effective with epoxy sculpt and air dry clay with with stand the elements. That’s why I ask so many questions and truly appreciate that you answer because not all artist will. You definitely have a new follower in me. 💕😊

      @@delkuz8 I began using cement, hypertufa and papercrete to make outside art because I have more room to decorate outside and ceramics are expensive to make.
      I do try to respond to questions and ideas from folks. I also like to know where folks live in the world, where are you?
      I have a regular job...lol so it is tricky to get time sometimes to create videos regularly. But I will be making more.
      I am also a little behind on chicken and gnome orders orders that I need to get out.
      Have a good day Delfina show me some of your art.

    • @VennasNature
      @VennasNature  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello I on purpose did not add the tissue. The texture is smoother without it. The tissue does add some strength however. Either way will work. Thank you for your questions😊

    Hai .... I just found out your channel. I guess I was a year late😅 but people say better late than never. I have questions. what do you use to stick the glass jars together? Do you use special glue? Did you need certain glue to stick the cement to the jars, I mean for the walls? I am from Indonesia and I want to decorate my little garden. In my place we have tropical season so I need something waterproof. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you in advance 😊

    • @VennasNature
      @VennasNature  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Uthe😊 I use hot glue or E6000, super glue would work. Anything to hold then together while you add the cement clay. After you add the cement clay they will stay together of course.
      I am glad you found me 😊
      Living in Indonesia you will want to seal your items well. I imagine you get more rain than I do in the Arizona Desert.

    • @VennasNature
      @VennasNature  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Sandra😊 I make these small batches because it will begin to dry out. I keep the clay covered in a plastic bag as I'm working. If we keep it covered it is workable up to an hour.

    What type (chemical make-up) of adhesive is 'thinset tile adhesive'? That is not a brand I can find, so wondering what its equivalent might be outside the US.

      @@VennasNature I am in the UK.
      On a DIY forum I visited, I was told 'Americans tend to use the term 'Thinset' as a catch-all for any type of tile fixing where the adhesive is spread, as opposed to bedding the tile in solid mortar/adhesive. But thinset can also be used to describe premixed wall tile adhesive, as this should not be used where a large depth of adhesive is required as it won't set correctly. '
      So I have no idea what I should be looking for!

    • @VennasNature
      @VennasNature  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lizzieburgess674 Oh I see. I am using a dry form of thinset you would mix with water. Not a pre-mix.
      In 1961 my daddy was in the American Air Foece he was stationed in the UK. When I was a baby we lived in Kettering. I was able to visit there 3 years ago. It is a beautiful country😊

      @@lizzieburgess674 Here is what I found. This thinset I use is Fortified Thin-Set Mortar is a professional formula, all-purpose mortar, polymer-modified to provide good bond strengths.
      I chose this product because it has a fine texture. it does not have the course texture of sand.

    Did you use the Portland cement clay for the body of your work and the CementAll for the detail?

    • @VennasNature
      @VennasNature  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carol these houses are made with the cement clay. Cemental tends to shrink a bit in the drying and will Crack since the glass won't shrink with the cemrntal. So just use the cement clay 😊

    Hey Venna, can these be put in the garden waterproof

    • @VennasNature

      Hello and thank you for viewing.
      They are be able to be outside. I made a sample clay project and soaked it in a bucket of water for a couple of days it was hard as ever.
      Make sure you seal the cement then paint then use a clear spray paint over the paint.
      Remember the more weather your painted projects endure the quicker they will fade and erode. Even cement.
      Remember cement cracks when it gets wet then freezes. Just like sidewalks and roads.
      The paint lasts well if it is not in the sun all day but in shades areas.
      Mine get the sprinklers twice a day all year round and they are doing well.
      I give my projects that are outside an as annual refresh of paint. I am actually doing that now in my yard.
      Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @VennasNature
      @VennasNature  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh Becca this is not a stupid question😁
      You can do a couple of things. First add a little more portland cement. Like adding flour to your cookie dough if it is too sticky😁
      You can also use vaseline or lotion to your hands
      to make it less likely to stick to your hands.
      I have a question. How are you sending me a message with sticky cement all over your hands🤣🤣

    Okay, what IF I were to start making one of these cement "Gnome houses", and I had been able to form a good bit of the gnomes home, but I had run out of ingredients. So, once I had been able to get those much needed ingredients, I was able to go back to admitting that NOW I have to possibly hope that most normal folks are really wondering if it would be okay for most people to be okay without them kissing the butt's of the most famous and rich people in the country or the WORLD.
