Great video man. One realisation that helped me get over ranked anxiety and go from bronze to ascendant in 2 months ( busy day life only played at night while maintaining other things in life) is that "rank's just a bunch of pixels on the screen, losing a rank wont suddenly make you have memory loss and permanently make you a worse off player, so focus more on being a better player than hoping to see a cooler jpeg on your ranked history screen" and something i often tell others too " its rather good to have matches where you cant perform well, anyone can snowball a great start into momentum late game but its really when you face enemies who put up a fight when the real fun begins, you certainly are here to grind ranked to be better right? so be excited on people punishing you on your mistake cause if you take it as constructive critism it'd provide you a lot of personal insights into how to be a better player than any guide you find online ever will"
Bro wtf this is such great advice. This is what that one sage voiceline also motivated me. Just that firece "FIGHT!" Or "WE GO!" Before the round starts!
Thank you rooney! I really appreciated the reminder that those weirdly poor performances we have sometimes are outliers. They aren't representative of our usual gameplay so we shouldn't worry about them. You put it really well.
What helped me a lot was unbinding the scoreboard key (tab). I’ve only been playing for a couple weeks but I kept comparing myself to everyone in my game when I was bot fragging. I knew I was new, and couldn’t be held to the same accomplishments as my gold+ friends/teammates but it still got to me a lot Being able to just focus on myself cleared my head enough to get to bronze! My goal is gold by the end of January so wish me luck!
I wish there was a video like this when I started playing the game. At this point, I've probably sunk more hours in the range than in actual comp matches because of ranked anxiety.
This is honestly the best guide video ever for me because mechanically i know im still not good so i can improve that but mentally i didnt really understand what it was or doesnt know how to explain it and this video validates all my insecurities in the game.Thankyou for this short and concise video and merry chrismas
great concise well made video, genuinely insightful and different from most of the "heres how to hit immortal" videos that are intended solely for a view i immediately noticed improvement, ur mentality & confidence makes or breaks you
Glad it helped! In anything in life that you want to strive to get better in, the most important part above all else is being confident and having faith in yourself to succeed!
Man cooked with this video, to add to the topic - for me as an immortal player what helped me with anxiety in-game was geniuenly just imagining that all my enemies are bots that can't shoot back at me (firing range type beat), that alone made me play with more confidence and as such more consistently.
As a radiant I used to suffer from this too until recently. Especially when i was playing against known good players or some pros i was anxious. I kept performing inconsistently due to bad decision making from the anxiety. What helped me is when I started to just only think about what im gonna do next and how im gonna play with my team and thinking about whats the best play in this situation im in. Just focusing on that and thinking about nothing else helps a lot. Now I rarely have poor performances like I used to.
Honestly the best tip that helped me see exponential growth in my skill is to just simply try not to care too much about your rank, and care more about what you can learn from the game you are playing. Also, random side tip I felt like I needed to share, when you’re in an aim duel, try to focus more on the enemies head than your crosshair. Your crosshair will naturally follow where you look. (At least for me)
I just reached diamond after playing multiple games against ascendants but now after i hit diamond these things started affecting me. Thank you for this
Great video. I really play the game like a game that it is and often try to improve but not to stress too much over it and now I'm beginning to improve more and more day by day It's been only 2 months of me being jn valorant and I'm already comparable to a gold or even a plat player but am hardstuck at iron because of my random teammates as I solo queue :(
Keep grinding and don’t blame your teammates on why you’re stuck at a rank, you will never improve if you blame things you can’t control. However, try to improve in the things you can, there is a reason why I’m Immortal, not because I have crazy aim or insane mechanics of a “radiant” player but because I just had fun and played to improve and didn’t care about toxic teammates or bad ones either.
FINALLY a high elo player who didn't start in Gold or Silver lol, you have no idea how refreshing that is to hear. Broke out of Iron last April and managed to get into Plat, currently struggling between G2 and G3 because school, but I'm gonna give it one more year and see where i end up
Keep it up! But try not to limit yourself and say “give it one more year” your in no rush and your main goal for the game should always be having fun as much ss you can! And I can guarantee you that you will improve much faster because of it!
your video greatly touched me I am an silver player scared of queing up and losing even if I could get way higher even if i have 2 kd even if i'm almost always top fragging my few games where i'm pplaying bad scare me for the most but your video gave me new hopes so thank you and continue your vids like that
The thing about Valorant being just a game is all you need, tbh. It's just pixels. Unless you're trying to go pro, or trying to play as a job, i.e streaming, There's no need to be anxious, to be downed by the Jetts and Reynas in your team who have nothing better to do nor will reach anything higher than their 30-kill games, because it's just a game. Play with your team properly, still strive to improve but remember that at the end of the day, we'll all turn off our PCs at some point and purse tangible things unaffected by whether you whiffed that last kill or aced 5 times in a game. Just have fun.
Good video but 9 times out of 10 my games have a afk or a enemy smurf and then i lose so much rr and my moood just goes to 0 cus like i cant rank up with these circumstances
I almost teared up watching this... none of my friends invite me to games anymore and i'm too afraid to ask cus they play together and rank up and i'm stuck by myself too scared to q up again ;-;
I know its scary, but try to take that first step to ask. I know for me personally I sometimes feel like a burden when asking to hangout but most of the time, its all in your head.
taking out anxity in valorant is simple just imaginine about ur crushs best moments itll work out and it wont if u r in a break up situation its always work wor me may be it will work for u too

I am a Neon main and the toxicity is the reason why I had to stop playing this game. Love every aspect of Valorant and I think this is the best game in the market but the community is so shit and toxic that it affects my mental health. It always starts on agent select when they see I locked Neon and I always hear "Pros arent playing Neon so why are you trying to throw my games F'**** id***" There is only so much before everything starts to affect you.....
Ok i admit i kinda laught of myself when u mentioned "skillcapped guides" vidéos, thats totally me, looking up for details of the game that doesnt truly matters in the most case (like deadzoning and stuff like that) but yeah sometimes i hardly believe in myself and stay confident of my skills... i mean im "just" silver ATM but some plat+ players keep telling stuff like "you re not that bad, are u rly silver? theres no way you're just silver with your aim etc" so yeah i know i can have a decent level of gameplay and i dont pretend to worth diam+ but sometimes i just get angry at myself and says "yeah that why i still silver while my sister of heart already hitted immortal" and i just feel bad for her, i want to make her proud too but it seems i cant find the right way somehow so thanks for your positivity (and thanks for reading if u did it)
Don’t be nervous at all! Treat it as is, a game, and play to have fun and improve, not to have a silly cool match mvp for the cost of your enjoyment and win
No need to get tilted over that, yes it’s annoying but that’s just how it is sometimes and I can GUARANTEE that this won’t happen in every game you play.
If you went into a CS lobby and said you were anxious, they would insult you. Not saying its good or bad, but just think about how hilariously dumb this concept of being anxious in a video game is to most people.
I disagree actually, people in all paths of life feel anxious and I’m not sure if it’s right either to compare two completely different games like this because everyone can feel this way. From a player who has put many many hours in both games, I have seen both of the player base feel “anxious” even the top pros you look up to you. This includes everywhere you see like the gym, work place, and academics. You don’t need to have a reason to feel anxious because that is just an emotion we receive and what games are MEANT to get out of us ( that’s why many are so addicted). But I do agree that it is dumb to feel this way in video games, however I understand thst many people can’t help it so that’s why I made these videos and try to make videos to aid this. :)
Here's another note about toxic players: some people will always be toxic. you being a bot frag does not cause them to be toxic (they are toxic anyways) I played many games where I top fragged and some random player is complaining and shouting and being toxic every round we lose (they think we can win 13-0 ?!! ) just mute them :) ggs ~~!
