I sure would like to see a lot more tutorials on this keyboard. There seem to be a number of good ones in every language that isn't English. I have nothing against languages that I don't understand, but I'm willing to bet that 50% plus of the people that buy this machine speak English.

Hi ,thanks for these informations ,but I would like to ask if it is possible to assign these pads to midi channels! Is this possible? So that when using vst instrument on a computer can be achieved through these pads?

PLEASE HELP!!!! I purchased a brand new Casio MZ-X500 for the pattern sequencer and the 16 phrase sequencers......BUT.......I cannot find a volume setting for each of the pads in the phrase sequence mode. The pad velocity option can change the volume, but this is not controllable even for this pro pianist with 50 years of experience. The pad velocity is too delicate to control. WHERE IS THE VOLUME SETTING FOR THE PHRASE PADS?????? I spent all my money on this keyboard and cannot use it until I find the volume setting, been looking for it for months in the manual and trial and error on the keyboard.

Ahhh .... thanks for flagging this one WM ... I've just ordered one from Italy (I'm UK) as very rare on secondhand market, and I'm a massive Casio fan!! (CZ's, VZ's, FZ's, CasioTones, etc.). This omission will be of course a pain for me, as one of the key features of this special arranger synth is the pad grid for me 😢 PLEASE let me know if you find a way out of this (like via DAW even?...). 😎👍🎶🎹🍻

@@theaudioeng All I have so far is to turn the velocity off for the pads, then use the master volume control to vary the volume per pad, playing only one pad at a time. Each recording to a pad will also have varying volume and no way to control the input volume. I have added the JunoDS to my studio rig now and will use those phrase pads instead, those phrase pad are 100% controllable...but...effects can not be added internally. I have also added a simple sampler, the 1010Music Black Box to handle phrase chores...but...need an analog synth to input to the sampler. It seems the search for instruments that function musically will never end. Combinations of synths seem to be the only answer. I think that is good news and bad news :)

@@WildernessMusic_GentleSerene Hey thanks a lot for your quick reply WM! I'll see next week when it arrives, if I can work in this way without that level of volume control. I think the Firmware 1.6 (2018) is the last that Casio will be releasing now, as they appear to have abandoned it now.... still looking forward to finally getting my paws on this flagship synth/arranger - already a classic I reckon 😁👌

@@theaudioeng Yes, it is a wonderful arranger. I bought it for the pattern sequencer (and the phrase sequencers :( , I write my own pattern sequences (styles) specifically for the song I am composing. With the MIDI outputs, I can send the 8 track (8 instruments) to other synths, don't have to use internal sounds of the Casio. The touchscreen is a massive improvement over writing styles on my WK7600, very fast. And the power to play three 6layer tones with a mono synth is almost limitless. The effects are more professional and easier to get to than my other Casio.

@@WildernessMusic_GentleSerene Cool! Really looking forward to making some tracks up on an 'All-in-One' keyboard, rather than being stuck in DAW land....! As you say, I can route out my performances to all my other studio synths/modules if I wish to have a different tone (ex. the SY99's FM electric pianos, which I know the '500 could never beat!). Let's see - I may be back with some questions for you as an avid user WM!! 😉🙌

Please launch a successor to the keyboard, its been more than 6 years now!! PLEASE CASIO!!
At least make the MZ X500 available in India for one last time 🙏
I got a job and started earning in 2019 but by that time MZ X500 was not available in India. I was waiting to buy this keyboard since its launch but did not have the budget.
I have a CTK6300IN which stopped working in 2020 and I am still waiting for the MZ X500 til this day!! Its my dream keyboard!! THERE IS NO WORTHY COMPETITOR TO THE MZ X500 AT THAT PRICE POINT I'M STILL WAITING!!

Obrigado. O Teclado Casio MZX500 é excelente, custo e benefícios, muito Pro. Embora o Dolar aqui no Brasil cotado em alta, protelou a possibilidade de adquirir um.

Great! The only thing I guess Casio has to improve is keyboards design for looking more professional. Actually all keyboards don't look like as professional as they really are. I suggest a clean design in black, red or silver, buttons with blue light and a thin body. A aluminum cover is welcomed ;-)

Jefferson Xavier roland and korg now make keyboards too that doesnt look like professional.. look at the korg kross korg krome roland ds roland fa. They are nice but the built quality is not good either.

i think more important they need to improve the preset styles sound and rhythms i own this keyboard and so far i have to do a lot of editing taking a lot of sounds of to make it sound close to real / more professional . plus this keyboard preset styles and sound are very limited the rest left for the users to make their own sound . which is fine but i think they needed to add more

I have a request for Casio. Make a desktop midi module cz 101. They would sell like crazy. Especially with some upgrades including better editing options.

I actually asked them that at NAMM earlier this year. Answer I got was the CZ App for iPad was supposed to cover for that. No plans for any CZ hardware. No reason they couldn't squeeze in a CZ sound engine on some of these newer models, but I'm guessing they're not interested.

Mz x 500 improves with 1.50 updates but is not perfect yet. Will there be 1.51 or 1.60?

Will there be a Casio MZ X500 update? 1.50 is not good. It's better, but not good. Especially the sequencer. Even the CTK 7000 is better the sequencer.
A Mz X 500 nem tudja: Convert pattern track 1-8 to SMF track 9-16, Copy event to another track (example: track 1 meas 1-meas3 to track 2 meas 10 - 3x) - CTK 7000 you can do it.
Need updating because 1.50 is not good yet.

Yamaha is the best.. I own this one ( Casio ) i actually didn't like it. disappointed very stingy in sound and these pads aren't easy to use . the whole thing to me is total confusion. if you need to know how to for this casio ver hard to find any help .. but for yamaha they have tons of assistance. and so many ways you can buy a preset and just download them
